Any recommendations for a MDF paint primer? I would prefer the typical gray color of primers. I've heard that you need a special primer, but I wasn't sure. I did a search but most places said use primer as a general term and didn't specify a certain kind of primer or anything. I need know to smooth out and prime my old DCON boxes and also some SSA logo cutouts. Thanks

Go for dcons, Ive heard the new kicker comp 12s and although they are quite loud, they have no definition whatsoever. I guess it could've been the box, but In my opinion from what Ive heard out of them.. definitely not a good choice for SQ. Plus dcons are entirely in a different class when it comes to quality of the subwoofer itself.

Agreed

I laughed when I saw the 16 8s, that's ridiculous. I wonder how it sounds?

Its really iffy on the right side, I might be able to clean it up and then cut out the rust and weld some metal in. Not sure. The inner side isn't too bad now that I really stare and feel it. Heres some pictures of what I need to do. I plan on replacing the doors, hood even though its nearly perfect, front and rear quarters, patch panel for the right door frame, bumpers, and tailgate. really big undertaking, but I want it to look good on the outside. Right rear quarter: Right rear bumber/recent accident: Left rear quarter: left front quarter: right front has some bondo, which I have no idea whats underneath. right inside of door frame:

So I want to get started on the wall for the dcons, but I realized I probably won't be able to replace panels in the rear with the wall in. So there is my quandary. My right rear quarter panel is rusted all the way through, it's painted over as a temporary cover up but it's still obvious. Should I postpone the wall for months and months for me to replace all the panels that need to be replaced? Or any other ideas? I've also thought about finding another bronco with a good body and doing the modifications I want to make it my style, but this truck as a lot of sentimental value so that would be hard for me.

Hope your dog gets better, Its definitely hard when a dog gets hurt/sick, My dog recently died of bone cancer. I've felt a lot less sad when family members have died hah. Dogs are the best.. Good luck on the sale! I pretty positive he has 2 of these: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=295-374 -

Not a lot of the people around here are fans of the DD1, so expect to get a few negative comments just letting you know. -
Fun weekend reconing Obsidian 18's
SacredTanakh replied to nadcicle's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Well, Like most any sub. They sound great in a well built enclosure and they handle a bit more power than rated. It's sort of like what a Sundown SA18 would be like if they made one. I actually picked up a 4th one to build back up. For a Chinese sub they are aight. I should add that I do believe that the Sundown SA series might just be a bit better too though. That's pretty much what I've heard, and the comparison to the SA series definitely makes sense. thanks. -
AMP Advice for my two SSA GCONs

I admit those amps have a nice look to them, reminds me of the ol' mephis amps, very shiny. -

Thanks man, Alton is a great guy, talented for sure. I try, lol. It's taking awhile to get the cutsheet down. Trying to decide the best way to describe the dimensions, lol. No problem, its a large box so I would expect that. Just out of curiosity are you take into account that the sheets are 49x36? Either way I can always spit the dimensions on some of the large pieces and glue them together.

go for the death row 12, gives you a little more room then the Fi x 12. Also depending on the roll off on the 30hz crossover when close to 30hz above and below its going to lessen those frequencies also.

BigPimpin91 Music
SacredTanakh replied to SacredTanakh's topic in Computers / Electronics / Music / Games
I am having the hardest time trying to dl them. How did you guys DL it? It takes a bit of tinkering, but I have no idea how you would explain it. I'm sure you will figure it out, if you want it bad enough. -
Decaf and bigpimpin91 undoubtedly have some of the best songs for bass, and I have all of decafs zips, but I need Bigpimpin91's work also. Ive tracked down quite a few of his songs, but its seemingly impossible to find anymore just crawling through different forums and google. Anyone has his Collection? or even a few songs? He had a ZIP of all of his older slowed, bass boosted, and chopped songs on SMD awhile back before the rules changed on there. . Id very much appreciate an upload of any you guys have, if you want to be private about it that is definitely ok just pm me. Thanks!

First of all, Sealed is purely for SQ. that's the only reason really that you would use it, besides space restrictions and extended frequency response. Neither are better, they just have different goals. If your looking for loud and like the lows, get a ported box. Also the SSD can take more then 800w, if you are getting distortion its the amp.

Is this a 4th Order Bandpass??
SacredTanakh replied to ToXicFrOgXx's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
x2 also. Even if you have nothing better to do and are set on building that box.. PWX 10s? at least use something that has the response down to the 33hz your attempting to get to. -
Thanks man, Alton is a great guy, talented for sure. Slightly larger then I expected, very nice look. 260 amps @ 1800rpm 136 @ 800rpm. Size comparison The FT1 supertweets. Hooked them up for two minutes, and Jesus these things are the harshest, most painful tweeter I've ever heard! Ill make my final judgement when I cross them over properly and have the mids, but its not likely that I will use them.
