Just a update, I had some time today and put together a ported enclosure. This will be going in a ford ranger behind the seat. It's 1.7ft^3 tuned to 33HZ. I still need to cut the hole for the sub. It will be inverted between the seats. I will be installing it tomorrow and I will have better pics. I am uploading some pics will post them soon. Chad

I have my TC 3k in a 3.1 ft^3 tuned to 32hz and it plays every note with great SQ and gets stupid loud. I have been thinking about getting another one. I am just not sure if I want to do that or a other single sub set up. Thanks for your testing, was a very interesting read. It sums up what I had thought with out having the time to test. Chad

I normally check out Fi's web site at least once or twice a week. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised to see the updated look. Check it out. https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficaraudio.com/...ndex.shopscript Chad

I am trying to put together a 1st system for my little brother. He just turned 16 and has a 95 ford ranger reg. cab. This is his first system and I wanna make it pound for him. For front stage he has 6.5 components powered off a 50 x 2 amp, pioneer head unit. He listens to most everything but mainly rap and heavy metal. I have a eclipse Xa 1000d 300 x 1 @ 4 ohm and 480 @ 2 ohms. SO here is my problem. 1. limited budget 150.00 for sub 2. limited space reg cab ford ranger 3. I would like max output while sounding decent I appreciate any and all suggestions Chad

Just to update. I am going with a Mach 5 IXL 12. Going to run it off of a Phoenix gold tantrum 1200.1 I will start a new build log when I start the install. Thanks for all of your opinions and help. One of the main reasons for picking the IXL was price, A friend (Darin) of mine was upgrading and sold it to me for a unbeatable price. Chad

sorry I assumed they were both 4x4's. Chad

If they are both 1/2 ton trucks no they will not work. Dodges are 5 lug with a crorss section of 5.5" and Chevy's are 6 lug but I'm not sure the cross section. 3/4 and 1 tons are both 8 lug with 6.5 " cross section so they may work depending on back spacing. They do sell adapters for the 1/2 ton but they are 3/4 -1" thick and I wouldn't recommend using them. Chad

I just picked up a 86 oldsmobile cutlass. (should be delivered to my house on sunday may 18) I would like to use the amps I have laying around to save money- they are Phoenix gold Tantrum 250.2 and a Phoenix gold Tantrum 400.4 I listen to everything from rock to rap ,classical, country you name it I listen to it. I was thinking of a 2 way active front stage plus infinite baffle sub stage. I think going with a hu that is 2 way compatible would be my best bet ( suggestions ) under $200?? Ideas for the front speakers under $150 (from what I can see kickpanel limited - 8" max 4.5" depth midbass/midrange -tweeter?) run off 400.4 tantrum 50 x 4 @ 4 ohm 100 x 4 @ 2ohm substage tantrum 250.2 300 x 1 @4ohm 2ohm stable bridged (my first thought was mach 5 mj18 inf baf) but I am open to any and all suggestions under $150 for sub sound deading ordered if I can not do it with in my budget just tell me to get some comps.....lol Thanks Chad
