Unfortunately, diesel doesn't alleviate our dependence on foreign oil. The real limiting factor on alternatives is how to a/c the thing.

From what Scott mentioned about the appearance of the sub (single magnet and more steel) I picture the old Ascendant Audio Avalanche. I'm guessing if some folks want the old BTL they'll have to get an AA Mayham. Great way to seperate the two lines (AA & Fi). Way to go Scott, I can wait to see them.

I was so hoping we would see the return of the carbon fiber dust cap on at least this line from Ascendant Audio. The new logo is better.

Solid? Ha! I sat in the rear seat of this beast at SEMA as Chris dropped the knob full tilt. My co-workers, who were standing next to it, jaws dropped. They said the panels were moving in and out about an inch. This thing was insane, and that's knowing that they were running AA Havocs in it at the time. I can just imagine what it will be with some Btls. Keep up the good work.

Augh! The box I quoted is for two SPL 12's. Opps! Sorry for the confusion. I was at the end of my break at work. Is there a recommended port area to box size ratio for the SPL 12? Thanks.

I don't know if this info will work for you, here goes. Mark recommended 6ft^3 box with 65sq in of port area 18in long. That tuned to 35Hz. I've yet to build the box, but I like to know if a smaller box would work better.

Thanks for the insight. Could you elaborate a little on the cooling short comings for a daily application? Specifically what would be the power limit. I'm running a DD M1 about 1200w @ 1ohm. I just read about this sub at audiojunkies. I've got a pair of AA Atlases running free air in my little creampuff, a 94 Olds Cutlass Cierra. I'm thinking of replacing them with these. Any thoughts? I got to sit in the H2 Thursday morning. It was nucking futs, to say the least. I was also in the Overhauling tent on friday when they were demoning the H2. It was hard to imagine that one could hear the H2 clearly over all that was going on in the tent. Especially knowing that the H2 was almost a football field away. My hat goes off to you guys.
