Get a plate amp from parts express. They have a 240watt@4ohm for $109 and a 500watt@4ohm for $250. I built my boxes tuned to 28Hz, I am happy with the output.

I'm afraid IB and 300 watts is only going to muster a bunch of laughs. Plus one of my components is acting up, and I haven't had a chance to look into it. Blame the crappy weather and that damn "honey will you" list. Any particular time you'll be out there? I'll make sure to say hi. -

In Marion? I might be down. I don't know if I'd enter my car, maybe just to hang out. -

Nice fins. Reminds me of old school Orion SX amps. -
Good power for a low pre-order price. Can't wait to get mine in. Thanks for the deal.

You should put a Vintage Air Front Runner and A/C in it.

Found this on the net. A little more complicated for my liking. A good explanation of whats going on though. http://www.codrive.com/basstr.htm

Holy thread resurrect Batman! I know I was one of the first that said it wouldn't happen. I even quoted the administration saying they would do it. Now we have this: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/us_medical_marijuana By guess who? The administration. One step closer. Go figure.

After some browsing around I've decided to pony up for a 50.4. From the looks of it, it is possible to bandpass two channels. For those wondering, I plan on running some PPI 355CS components off of the first two channels, highpass at around 200Hz. I'll let the passive crossover handle it between the tweeter and mid-range. On the last two channels I'm going to run 4 Mpyre Audio 6.5 Midbasses, setting the lowpass at around 200Hz with the subsonic filter setup at around 60Hz. Having this sort of control is priceless. Not too many active crossovers can do this. I was planning on buying an audio control 6XS to pull this off. Now I don't have to. The real kicker is that the 50.4 is going for what an Audio Control 6XS goes for. Go figure. Anywho, thanks Sundown for an awesome product.

H1N1? See someone. Better safe than sorry. Get well soon.

I want those atlas subs... He he. Viva la free air, and to those who don't consider free air as proper nomenclature. Thanks dude.

Is it possible to do a passive/active 3-way on the 50.4? I mean run two channels high pass at 200Hz, and run the other two channels low pass at 200Hz with the subsonic filter set at 60Hz? If yes, still got some 50.4's? Thanks.

I use it for the Cashback. I made a killing on ebay when it was at 30%. Unfortunately, it was all car parts for a car that was recently totaled. -

Seeing this side view. I begin to wonder if there are really two motors working in tandem. Without going into too much detail, could it be that there is one coil/split coil using the two center plates as the motor gap? Taking the conspiracy theory a step too far. Notice how the two center plates are separated? With magnets above and below these plates, could this be an attempt to extend the magnetic field? Did I go to far? If I'm never heard from again, you all have been great.

That's cool, I flop things out from time to time... Wait, what are we talking about?

Ha, I though that was a Q sub you were using. Nice.

I found some down loadable WinISD Files these are for the pro version. http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/diy-subwoofers/14410-downloadable-winisd-pro-files.html There are probably some T/S params in there. I can't vouch for the accuracy. You'll have to join to download most likely.

Try doing a search for a tapped horn. In the diyaudio forums they are having good success with a low tuned tapped horn and a high Fs sub.
