    peerless 6.5" sls midbass

To answer your question, will playing the speaker into the pocket color the sound? Yes. The solution, hack the panel. If you're already going through the effort of cutting a 1/4" plate of steel, then cutting the plastic panel should be a breeze. There are other means to make a clean door panel besides fiberglass. Here is a thought. The top line of the green box. Cut the whole bottom off of the panel using that line. Then cut a board to replace the panel you cut off, just cut it a little taller so it overlaps the remaining panel a bit. You'll have to figure out how to mount this board onto your door. I envision some bolts epoxied into the board as studs to mount onto the door with nuts and washers inside the door. Put a small step on the backside of the board where it overlaps the door panel so everything sits flat. Now you can mount your speakers on the board. Paint the board the color of the truck or you can upholster it to your liking. Hope this helps and good luck with your project. Post some pics what you do.

    SPL-Labs LCD Bass Meter

Firstly, thanks. The meter itself is absolute. The calibration is optional if you want this meter to measure like another meter. How to determine absolute SPL? That I don't know. Maybe you could use a barometer and some fancy math?

Glad to here the rains didn't affect you BigJon. I know some people in New Braunfels that were. Nothing bad just a bunch of water damage.

    Project I'm Working On

Yes, for SPL. More usable power from the amp = good Z v.2 and NS v.2 both have shorting rings. Cooling purposes? If so wouldn't you want to ditch the pole vent? Just curious. Thanks.

    Project I'm Working On

I'm just thinking out loud here, but an induction ring on a spl sub? Would the cost of the ring itself and the machining cost of a two piece top plate assembly offset the benefit for spl? Don't get me wrong it's nice to have, but for spl?

    IB3 getting updated?

Thanks. I like to know per your experience. Right now I meter 135 and change at 32Hz with the setup in my sig. If I step up to two 500 watt amps (2 US Acoustics USB-2150) and 2 18" IB3 is 140 possible?

    IB3 getting updated?

I'm kicking around the notion of upgrading my Atlas to IB3s. I wanted to know if the IB3 line was going to get upgraded to the single magnet design like the other sub lines did? If they are going to be updated, is there a time line? I'd like to get the latest and greatest. Thanks.

    About Stetsom Amplifiers

I dont really get your question are you talking about the 1k5h ?? which has the half bridged technology >? Any of them..what are they switching at. You have a frequency in which the gates are opening or closing at..on the fets and/or transistors on the output stage (You can see this on an o-scope if you do not know, you just have to get in the range that they are operating at). The only amplifier in the world that is truly an amplifier is a class A, everything else switches via gates on a mosfet or a transistor..I want to know the operating frequency of that device. 100kHz? 120kHz? Higher? The smaller transformers and parts that are used the higher and harder the gates are being switched on fets/transistors..I want to know what this frequency range is. I once heard: "If you want to know buy one and take it apart." I mean no harm, I just poking around with a stick. Ha ha!

should i sell my new navigator?

I'd keep the Navigator. It's a bit more versatile audio wise and everyday use. If you need help with a box let me know. I've got all the tools and a garage. All you really need money for is the wood and the jager bombs

    2010 SSA Texas GTG

I can't believe the get together has come and gone. It was a good meet with familiar faces and a few new faces. Thanks to Big Jon and the team at the Happy Cow Bar and Grill for their efforts in making this meet possible. Metering and full tilt demos were cut short this year, but that didn't stop us from hanging out and talking car stereos. Enough of my rambling, now some pics. Jake was one of the few to get to meter on BigJon's TL. The Happy Cow Bar and Grill allowed us to setup a lane next to their covered patio. This made for a great meet in the shade. Many thanks. Here's another angle of the people enjoying that nice patio. This is Jake's setup. Two Fi BLs off of a Sundown 3000. Jake is running those Alpine 6 x 9's in a dipole setup. These Austin guys sure are weird. Hence the saying: Keep Austin Weird. More on the way.

    2010 SSA Texas GTG

Wow, I am surprised someone/ones would stoop to that level. I'm sorry you had to go through that BigJon. As if it's not enough to be having a stressful day, now you got to endure some of that behavior. Everyone, consider yourselves warned. This type of behavior will not be tolerated at the next meet, if there is one at all.

    2010 SSA Texas GTG

Thanks for the compliments fellas. Next time I'll make sure and get some vids too. I'd have to say my favorite setup was Edward's Neo 12 in a 4th order BP. I was clean sounding and got plenty loud. The lanyard hanging off his rear view mirror was definitely dancing to the beat. Anybody have any favorites and why?

How to pass a drug test.

Quit using. Even if you get this job. At some point or another you'll use the health insurance or have a workman's comp claim. They'll find out and you'll be screwed.
