I'm running some Hawthorne Audio mids and highs. They are open baffle speakers. The price was right. They sound great and get plenty loud. You can check them out in my home built. Home theater build Here is a link to Hawthorne Audio site.

If you're looking to try pods in the pillars on the cheap check this out. Cheap, adjustable, easily replaceable tweeter pods Good luck with the project. Awesome car!

I had the exact same thing happen to me at the supermarket the other day. Some little kid with a football just ran right into me. Not to worry I took him down before he made it to the produce section for a TD. 1st Poast in IHOP!

Bummer of a situation. I'm not in the wrecker business, but I would expect that if the SMPD request a wrecker, the second the wrecker shows the wrecker driver would have the officer at the scene sign, date, and time stamp some sort of report. With that you can easily send the city a bill. Other than that it's just gonna be politics, the good ol' boys club of scratch my back and we'll see if I shoot crumbs your way. It's the world we live in, sadly. A lawyer will help, but it's a sure fire way to get you kicked out of the good ol' boys club if you know what I mean. :/ If you're game for some politics take Mr. Cook on his offer and meet him. Nothing like a little face to face to let someone know who they are dealing with. Men in charge dig that sort of feistyness, it's a sort of reminder of when they were young sort of thing. One thing though, don't show up if the wrecker isn't up to code. One other route, and don't quote me on this, but I think the wrecker industry is regulated by the railroad commission. You can try getting a hold of the local rep for the railroad commission and rub elbows with him and see if he'll put the squeeze on Mr. Cook. Good luck bro, the main thing is to convey to them that you are a small business offering a service that is dependent on payment for all services rendered.

Looking good. Thanks for the up close shots of the DD "Z" motor. I had never seen one up close like that. Very interesting, no top plate huh.

Don't know when the new season starts, but good luck with the rebuild. -
So, most of the parts are in. There's some fabricating that still needs to be figured out, but what the heck. Let's get the show started. Here is a pic of the ride: 2004 Suburban Work Truck Edition. It's white and has a rubber mat instead of carpeting on the floor. The interior, vinyl. 5.3 V8 and it's 4WD. The main source is a Alpine IVA-NAV-1 with a pair of Concept headrest monitors for the rear passengers. No pics yet Here is the front stage: Precision Power 355cs components in q-logic kicks, but wait there's more. o_o Can you guess what these are? One more pic.

Don't be afraid to run that anarchy-ex, what ever the hell they call it, up to 3k. I heard them in a mazda 3 once. The mids were in the doors and the tweeters in the sail panel, uh the little corner of the door by the mirror. Anyways, the set sounded great, and got plenty loud. The owner of the car was toggling the crossover point from 1.5k up to 3k and it sounded real good. Granted he was running Morel Piccolo tweeters, but if your willing to pay for the focal 4" co-ax, the Piccolos might be viable. the midrange and mid-bass were great. He was running a Pioneer PRS880, or something like that, but an Alpine 9887 will do the job. By the way good job on finding matching plaid shorts and slip on shoes.

Sounds like a fun adventure you're on. I would say focus on getting the best processor you can afford first. That'll let you tinker with what you got. I run MS8s and love them. I'm dying to try a BitOne. I know you are looking at 3"-4" full-rangers, but try taking a look at similar sized co-ax speakers. Having that tweeter will help with the top end and bring you a little height. JL and Image Dynamics sell some nice ones. I'm cheap and have had good luck with the Powerbass "S" series of co-ax speakers. They have a nice silk dome tweeter on them. Good luck with your venture. Keep us posted on how it goes.

I figured I'd go out of my way and do something silly for my 1000th post. Honestly this is a feat that I thought I'd never accomplish. I had always been into car audio. With the advent of Ebay and me having steady income I was able to afford some of the JL pieces I had been eyeing since the mid 90's. After a while if running the JL stuff I decided to step up my game. I just bought a house and finally had a garage to work in. I did general searches on the net for big subwoofers and high power subwoofers. I would get returns for a "REXXX" sub. It took me a while to figure out that this "REXXX" sub was actually an RE audio XXX. Realizing that I joined a forum. The first forum I joined was the Sound Illusions board, if you can remember that far back. It was an exciting time for me regarding car audio. I was reading about the Adire Brahma, the RE MT and the infamous TC Sounds Uber Woofer. I was able to pick up some like new Atlases through the forum. It was fun posting there, but it all ended when Sound Illusions went offline. I was bummed. It seemed I re-entered the car audio scene at a transition period for the industry. It was a few months later, I was doing a general search for Ascendant Audio on the net that I came across this forum. I joined immediately. I felt I was back on track with my audio adventures. Over the years I've been able to share what little knowledge I have and been able to learn a whole lot more. I've had the pleasure of chatting with insiders and with loyal hobbyist. I've even gotten the chance to meet some great people in person. It's been a great ride so far, lets see what the next 1000 post bring. How about you guys, how'd you come about joining the forum and how has it affected your interest in the hobby?

Spend a day or two in the IHOP and you can accomplish it very quick im sure. Lol Haha, I guess I should have moseyed on in there long time a go. Thanks. Glad I finally made it.
