Usaci Texas Bass Battles Finals Pics... if anybody gives a sh*%
onebadmonte replied to onebadmonte's topic in Photography
After the crowds around it died down I was able to check this out: I smiled when I saw this inside: Up close of the subs: I got a nice little demo from this bad boy: Inside this: Then again, it was right next to this: Those guys were making their presence known. I saw this there: Had to do a double take when I saw this in there: I hunted down the owner and sho nuff that was my old box. Got a little demo. Turns out it sounds better in his truck than in mine. Wrapped up the day with this: The doors, still a work in progress, but looks to be going in the right direction: Yep, another wall in a four door: Holee-shyt: Bed time. -

Moving along I came across this: A little close up of the box: A little something from the other side of the pond: In the back of the Rover: Nothing says "Welcome to East Texas" than a Buckee's pillow pet. Up next was this: This was inside of it: Then there was this little guy: Feast your eyes on what was inside: I saw this pretty cool SUV there: Tidey little install inside of it. The subs are Obsidian. Yes, there's more. -

This was at the show: A peak inside revealed this: A deeper look inside and viola: These are the amps pushing it all: Then I saw this: Inside was this: Here's what was powering it all: I saw this there too: Inside was this: One interesting 4th order. It was running four Atomic 8s. Here is another pic of the drivers: To be continued. -

Now this little number: Inside, all this: And the power plant driving all this: Dumbass me almost got run over by this: Check this out: A wall in a benz: Clean interior in that little benz: I saw this too: It had this in it: More on the way. -
They sound better. I'm at the mercy of the MS8 though. I end up going through a couple of auto-tunes before hearing a tune that I like. From there I bust out the RTA and tinker about with the EQ. Definitely a good value. Right now I have them high passed at 2K Hz on a 24dB/oct slope. That seems to be the ticket.

I'm trying. Lol! Practice makes perfect, and God knows I need all the practice I can get. I'm hoping to do well at this comp. Thanks.

Cool beans, see you there. FYI, I fessed up about the knee-highs to the Mrs. It's better she hears it from me than reads about it on the interwebs.

O_o Lol! I'll be there. What days are you guys going to be there?

Long time no talk how's everybody doing? I've got a little update to share. Since having my arse handed to me at an SQ comp in College Station and being a little jelly of all the badass fiberglass work I've been seeing as of late. I've decided to up my game a wee bit, starting with the a-pillars. Lets begin. I started off with a little flush mount pad for the tweeter and a little mdf wedge to mount it on the a-pillar. After a couple of measurements I mounted the pads onto the a-pillar with a generous amount of hot glue. A quick trip to the dollar store netted a nice pair of ladies knee-highs. I added some rubber bands to help shape the pod to my liking. I opted for a thin layer of resin on the nylon for a little rigidity before laying down some glass. With the rubber bands out of the way I laid down two layers of woven style fiberglass. FYI, all glassing materials were picked up at the local Wally-mart. After a light sanding some body filler went on. After some more sanding the light weight body filler went on. After even more sanding the surface is finally ready. With a show coming up I opted to install the a-pillars naked. Some time next week I'll be wrapping them in vinyl. For now some as installed pics. A shot from the drivers side looking towards the passenger side tweeter. Now from the passenger side looking at the driver side tweeter. Lastly a pick from the rear seat. Till next time, enjoy.

Let me know when you're ready for some a/c and engine accessory brackets for that LS swap. I might be able to help. Sweet project.

That port is a big'ums! How's the SQ gonna be? Serious question now. What kind of wood is that? Thnx.

Scaling off the pic, those magnets look to be 10" in diameter.

Holy chit! -
If the box is a common chamber there might be a loading issue depending on the distance of the subs to the port. What did the coils meter, new and old?

Happy birthday!
