I need a manual for a alpine cda-7949 for x-mas :)
Breakjunki replied to Breakjunki's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
I know sucks.. Someone on here took the time to inform me they had 2 "mint" units with the manuals, but were to lazy to scan a few pages.. That sucks But they had the same amount of time to screw with me.. So PLEASE if anyone has one, hook me up for x-mas.. Thanks, Joe -
Active component ??? for M5 or others
Breakjunki replied to Breakjunki's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
I currently have a new Clarion eq I just bought recently eqs746 or something close. 7 band parametric. So that will give me a little more control. THe new install will be going into a BLazer, from a Mazima. The only thing I don't like about the EQ, it has ! set of inputs and 3 sets of outputs. That pretty much limits all control that the head unit has. Thats why I was thinking of replacing it with a 3 way x-over for more control.. Or would it be best to go from the head unit o the eq to a 3 way x-over?? -
I've been tryin to find a set that will owkr well together 2 way active.. I think I've come up with it. It will be run off a old sony mobile ES xm-5046 choices (madisound) mid - either SEAS ca18rnx or L18rnx(aluminum) both 7" tweet - SEAS 1" textile dome 27tffn I believe either of these would blend well and work together in a active 2 way.. What do you think?? or WOuld both mids work or would one choice be better?? Thanks, Joe. P

I wish I still have both the alpine 7949, and the sony cdx-c90(on the way) I'm still looking for the alpine eq/xover unit. I will probably just buy a audicontrol unit to run active x-over duties. If you know of anyone with the add on units for the alpine ro sony let me know.. AS for speaker placement its pretty well open. I have plent of room in the doors/sails on kicks... WHat do you think of the q-forms kick panels?? are the kind of like prefab boxes(crappy) ??? I'm new to the active comt set. But have been running passive com sets sine the early 90's.. since the first mb quarts All help appreciated.. But setup a x-over right would the choices I made above work well??? Thanks, Joe -

its was a x??? something. I know what ubit your talking about... Saw it earlier just can remember the crazy nuber model yeah, I didn't say its THE best, just that it would be hard to do better.. I'd still like the old Mcintonsh with the d/a converter or a clarion 9255... -

as the title says I need a downloadable users manual for the cda-7949. Alpine doesn't have them or pac parts. I'd be glad to pay for copied one of you have it. All help appreciated. Thanks, Joe. P -
I was figuring 2 mids/ and 1 tweet per door, to cover adequate midbass.. But I'm hoping with the above post and price guidelines per mid/ tweet, you could suggest a few diff set options? thanks, JOe

after a little debate.. well not too much I've decided this has to be asked on this forum not ROE, where most consider SQ to be 2 pair of loud Pa speakers with no tweets I'll be running a set of tc 3hp motors w/ fi top ends.. dare I say Sealed, over there If I mentioned sealed I'd be crucified But on to the front stage. I have a alpine 7949 deck, and a sony xm5046(mobile es) so plenty of power for a nice front stage. First time running active. I usually run passive comp sets, which I have liked, but want to try my hand at active and see the differecne. I was considering a set of seas excels, with a lpg tweeter. What would you suggest that would sound as good and maybe be a littlke cheaper on the mid than the excels.. All help appreciated. Thanks, JOe. P

I would be more than grateful if you could just scan the pages that relate to all the button functions and such, not all the warranty, install spec stuff. Just how to access all the functions and setup.. If you could, your my last resort.. Thanks, JOe. P -
wow, you hacked up a 02 325 BMw just to put a port in the arm rest.. Where do you work circuit city??

Breakjunki replied to damonhargroves07's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
wow What happened to the good old amps of the late 80's early 90's with thd's like .004, like the old linear powers, ppi, audio art.. Now a good amp has a THD of .2 or something -

well someone sent me the install/spec manual still need the owners with all the functions. If anybody comes acroos one remeber me.. Thanks, JOe -
thanks M5... well space isn't a problem.. I can build kicks or pods to fit whatever I end up with.. Thats the reason I was thinking 2 6.5(or6-8) in each door and a tweet per side either in the door or sail... what about the vifa mid/ seas tweet combo above?? ^^^^
-
[does this sound like a good mid/ tweet set???
-
I was looking around. considering the seas 1" dome 27tffn. and maybe 2 of the 6.5 vifa mids in each door. (in the autosound section) all on madisound. sound like a good match?? the tweeter is on soft domes, page 3..
-
planning on doing the mids in the kicks, firing across pointing to about each headrest.. and the tweets in the sails.. WOuld there be a better psotioning?? oh yeah. its goin in a 93' blazer

Sony Mobile ES :)
Breakjunki replied to Breakjunki's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I deliver and install audio/video and appliances for allving. and yes the new sony vegas have gone down hill but the old stuff its still top of the line.. I just found a set of the old dual mono amps on e-bay. the 2100. sweet dual mono design.. does 700@2, w/ almost no thd But I agree with you that the quality has gone down hill especially with all the new high powered d class monos with thd through the roof, and subs with a effieciency rating of like 86@ 1w-1m I'd like to see a comeback of the medium powered subs, with a efficiency of 90-92, with lower power requirements.. would make me happy I'd really like a set of the old soundstream reference 10's to go with the mobile es amps WOuld be nice.. -
