sad sad day...question about replacing slugg on 05 xxx
Breakjunki replied to hunter86's topic in General Fi
what sucks about the insurance is it only covers if they loose the package. unless you have them package it for you, then it covers damage to the product... -
Was the 146.2 was in your friends truck Rich??? Either way 146 is damn loud Especially for one 12" Thats a resectable number even for multiple suub setups, hell just in general a 146 is loud as hell. I can't wait to see what I can pull off a SPL-15 in the back of my 89 CRX on a American bass xd3000. I'm guessing I should be able to tickle to 50's Either way looking forward to it.. Joe Rich, how did it sound musically with that kind of power. I'm looking to put it in about 3.5@35 on 3000ish. (spl-15) Curios aas to daily use, I know its not a SQ sub but I've heard from a few people that it sounds pretty good. Thanks
-
thats true, every units different.. I get close to 2 volts out on my lower end pioneer at 51 out of 60... over 3/4..
-
Is there a possible Mach5 boner in the making??? I'm glad you pulled good results from it. I know that subs has potential without ever seeing it in person.. Looking forward to some full power abuse
-
Just got the word, the Mach5 SPL-15 will be built.. I'm looking forward to this. triple stack 8.5 round mags, 6 spiders. This will be a monster. 3000rms per mach5 It will be a little while before I actually get it due to building and shiiping but I'll post pics when it comes...

JBL amplifier --- 1.5ohm?
Breakjunki replied to ILuvJDM's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
maybe It seemed to me to well built/beefy to not be 1 ohm stable. So I called JBL, they said no problem for 1 ohm all day. I guess it just keeps there warranty costs down from people with little knowledge and voltage drops -
JBL amplifier --- 1.5ohm?
Breakjunki replied to ILuvJDM's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
the jbl gto amps will do 1 ohm all day. I had a 601, and a 1201 forever at 1 ohm. I got this info that 1 ohm is safe from JBL deirectly. I ran them for over 2 years, not even warm. -
SPL-15 Pre-order - You're nuts if you don't go for it
Breakjunki replied to mrogowski's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
whats the word so far Mark?? Is it looking like its a go?? -
Its very rarely I truly want a specific subwoofer. The spl-15 has done it.. I really like the 12, but wanted bigger. I like the idea of supporting a company that will support you and be willing to help advice like mach-5 does. And at the prices Marks doing the spl-15 for its crazy not to pick one up. It looks to be in the same league with $600-1000 subs. So guys I really want Mark to go ahead with the build.... SO what I'm really trying to say is buy a damn woofer Thanks, Joe
-
I'm in... I can't pass up a monster 15 thanks Mark. I think it will probably put up respectable #'s in my CRX on 3000rms..

no trying to start an argument here, but in the other thread the guy put the CV v-max 12 in 1ft3 sealed and was dissapionted with the output. For the price, in a correct sized ported box I've been pretty impressed with the CV vmax. Is it a top line SQ sub. no but for under $100 done right they can get LOUD and sound pretty good....

I found a sweet deal I just picked up a killer old school soundstream Rubicon 1002. The blue one. It does 250x2@4 underrated, and 1000x1 at 4 ohm and 2. Will be PLENTY of power for the old front stage. And just a all around sweet amp And I've seen them sell for $250+. I got it for $85... nice...

[if mounting depth is an issue 5" or less the Pioneer shallow will get prewtty lud with some power. The best shallows Ive heard personally are the Illusion Audio carbon series. They make from a 10-15" with a sensitivity of 98 Very nice subs.

Hey, I have 2 tc 3hp motors. I know they need to be sent in to be machined to fit the 12 spoke mounting holes. I saw where you posted prices for a 3hp recone, there were prices for a 12/15/18. Can you do a 3hp 10" recone?? The motor measures 7.5 inches wide at the widest point. I'm hoping there won't be a problem with 10's. I'd like to send them this week, but waiting to see what can be done. Thanks FI.
-
theres been a few threads about it, you have top send the motor in to have holes machined to fit the standard 6 hole 12 spoke basket Fi uses. Its about $125 for a 12, 135 for 15, and $145 for a 18. or pretty close. that includes new soft parts/basket. A whole new sub

I'm also curious as to the effectiveness of the edead v1-2, the $1.00 a ft one. I know its now supposedly butyl. Excpet for it being a e-duh product, does it actually stick?

89' CRX, unmolested, pretty clean, came on 17" enkei shoguns, was a 50 yr old ladies car , very clean inside. Great base to start from, no fast and the furios crap will be bolted on to this.. But It will have a ALpin 7949 deck, 2 tc 3hp/FI 12" subs, on a AMerican bass xd3000. And a set of the Lanzar Opti6c comps on my old school Sony xm-5046.. should be a great project
-
What do you guy think of the older 4 spoke cast frame xtant x series round subs. Model x412. THey seem well built with a beefy magent, and 4 spoke basket. I can get a pair in mint condition. I was wondering how good they were. How much they ran new. And how they sound and what you think of them.. Also what would you pay for a pair of the 12's in like new shape...
-
anybody?? any info??
-
Anybody use/seen/heard the Lanzar opti6c comp set?? I know all Lanzar makes except the Opti line is Junk, but the Optiu amps are well built. Take a look at the Opti6c comp set and let me know what you think. They look well built. Opinions wanted Either way I hope there at least Ok, due toi the fact there already on the way Thanks, Joe

Help.. I'd like to find out the info on the dutcap availability and where to send it to and stuff.. Thanks, JOe. P Also does FI habe any other baskets that you use other than the standard 12 spoke??

I'm sending in my 3 hp motors to be reconed on WED. I need a addy to send them to. Also I believe its $148 to have them reconed to 18's including shipping each. Correct? So I you could let me know where to send them, and if its ok to sen'd a m/o with the motor, or would it be bast to calll me and I'll pay over the phone with my Debit card?? Thanks, Joe. P Also The 3hp's have the tall top plate. would there be any benefit to miacine cooling channels in the top plate?? Could you do a fully poly cap on the 18" recone(like a havoc), I've seen 1 done, and a 10 with a poly and Fi logo, I'd love to have a full poly with the FI logo. Would look great..

Please, I know someone out there has a user manual for a 7949. Its all I want for x-mas. If you can just scan me the pages that refer to the units features and fubctions, setup and use. Thanks, Joe. P P.S. I've been searching everywhere forever now Thanks -
but the maker(zed) is I've talked to Steven about reparing amps. He will repair all his old stuff as long as they can get parts, and stuff he didn't make.. Pretty cool. Surprised when I called I actually taked to him.. Hope it helps.
