it looks like after displacement we're shooting for 8 cu. a sub, with about 200 sq in of port....what do you guys think?
-
I've got 2 x 18in BL's going into a wall and was wondering how big to make the port. The way it sits now, there's about 10.5 cu per sub. How much port/port area should i have. It is for daily booming and bass race.
-
keep in mind it is for bass race/daily booming so i need to be able to play music on it for extended periods of time.

Building a wall for 2 x 18" BL's in my Ford Focus ZX4, as it stands now we've got 10.5 cubes per sub, my questions is how much port do i need? how much port surface area etc. etc. ????? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Dan Soundmekanix SPL design Team

Just starting a thread for my new bass race system build. Here's a couple pics of one of the BL 18's....i like the one of it sitting next to the American Bass DX 12" (their budget sub). Hopefully I'll get started on the build soon.
-
yeah, i'll try and get another pic of the motor on here later this evening
-
what about the usamps "xterminator??" series - i think thats what they are called -please correct me if i'm wrong. but i know you can get them at a VERY reasonable price, and I hear they put out good clean power.
-
maybe, the box I have now is about 50in across......what port dimensions would you guys reccomend?
-
I'm going to be putting 2 loaded Fi BL 18's in a wall in my focus zx4. I was just wondering what configuration you guys think might work best: 1. subs side by side with port(s) in the middle 2. subs side by side with port on drivers side 3. subs side by side and port(s) on top ...and no I dont have room to do one on top of the other, with port on the drivers side. Thanks guys!
-
i'll have to put 18's side by side, dont have enough room to stack them.....we're planning on putting the port on the drivers side. Should be loud. It might be a week or two before I'm able to get them in, but I'll post pics when i do

Get the 18, if not to be unique, then because they hit low as hell
-
I'm a competitor, but I do Bass Race - so I guess its more for music/daily - but it still needs to be loud, at least in the low 50's (i hope) - so I can do the 149.9 class.
-
best thing to do is to make friends with someone that has a termlab and practice as much as you can. I did 129.9 class last season and did very well - one thing I liked to do was get to a 129.5-129.7 (or 139.5-139.7) as fast as possible. A lot of times when the other guy would see my number climbing so fast he would get worried and just crank his volume up and then break out. Try to hold that 139.5 until about 10 sec left, then hold 139.7 until about 5 sec, then up a click to 139.9 with about 1-2 sec left. This worked pretty well for me, though it took some practice. Give it a try and let me know how it goes. Bass race is addicting by the way, its a ton of fun and real crowd pleaser! I can't stand not going to comps on the weekend lol. I'm doing the 149.9 class this season. Good Luck and have fun

I'm doing the same thing in my focus zx4 with 2 18" BLs - i'm shooting for 7-8 cubes per sub, let me know how it turns out man!
-
Thanks to Scott, Shawn, and the whole crew at FI for getting this taken care of for me!
-
Thanks, I appreciate it.
-
Emails sent..... hopefully I get a response soon. If Scott or anyone working for FI could contact me regarding this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Just ordered a couple loaded BL 18's and was wondering if anyone has any pics of installs using this sub - just trying to get some ideas. Thanks guys. Dan Soundmekanix SPL Design Team

I cant wait to get these bad boys, looks like i'm going to wall them and run each one off a gold american bass 150.1. Does the power handling increase on this sub when you add all the options?
