Thinking about (for budget reasons) trying to do the 149.9 class with 4 SSD 15's without a wall...just wondering if anyone thinks its possible....was thinking maybe a crx style box......vehicle is a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer EXT....

that's one badass looking sub! -
Just wanted to say thanks to Jacob and everyone at Sundown for getting me my first 2 saz1500's so fast, as soon as I sell my laptop, i'll be ordering the other 2....should sound awesome on 8 x 15in SSDs in a ported clamshell!!! Thanks again Jacob!!! Now I just have to scrape the ice off the truck to put the stickers on, lol

That should be fine.

how much room do you have in your car? measurements?

Fi is an awesome company.....absolutely cannot go wrong with any of their products. I dont know much about the X series (I've only used the BL and BTL), but have heard nothing but great things....another plus is this forum, you'll always be able to get advice on how to setup your fi subs. I say go with 3 (or even 4 :-) Fi X series. Great woofer at a great price, plus...its always more fun to show off more woofers.

Just wondering how much power you guys are putting to your Havoc's for daily pounding/bass race?? I've been throwing around a lot of different sub configurations/ideas for next year and am considering either 4 x 15in Havocs or 4 x 18's Havocs in a wall in my '04 Trailblazer EXT - I would be running a Sundown SAZ-1500 to each sub - think they would take that power ok?
-
Its looking like a bunch of SSD's or the Ascendant equivalent for the new bass race system, with the amps I will have each sub will be getting about 400-500 watts each (most likely 12 x 15's sealed)....i know thats below the rms rating for the ssd's but the idea is that I'll be able to demo and bang on the system a lot longer, plus i like having a 3in coil woofer. Just wondering if anyone has ever used SSD's with this kind of power? Results?

thinking about switching amps

the saz-1500 would be a great way to go, i'll be running 4 of them! -
i looked at the arsenals and the reason I want to go with the ssd's is that i'll be able to add a bit more power later if i want
-
I guess we'll have to see....still working on box designs, which could be a factor as well.
-
I'll have 4 of the sundown saz-1500's
-
...I have the ability to add more amps with the ssd's as well
-
Any specs yet on teh Chaos series? Last I heard from Scott they were similar to the SSD? If you guys have them , i'd like to see the specs on the upcoming "Chaos" series woofers.... its looking like either 8 or 12 of the 15" 's in the new trailblazer.

I need ideas for a badass bass race system
soundmekanixdan replied to soundmekanixdan's topic in Test 1, 2, 3...
that wasn't really necessary, it is and has been civil. I was asked to do it, so I did, your post were not the only post that were deleted, some of the thread starters post were deleted as well. I almost put them back, the information you removed was necessary as the OP still hasn't figured out the real solution nor was what I posted offensive. IMO as a manufacturer I'd be embarrassed to have someone competing (whether in bass race or something else) and putting up really small scores based on the fact that they have all sorts of cramped drivers. Having tons of drivers and 4 big amps in a space that really shouldn't have anywhere near is much is a waste. What exactly is a small number to you? Apparently you've built this exact system and know exactly what it will do - not to sound rude. -
Just looking to get some ideas for a killer bass race system. The system will be going into a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT. I really want to do something crazy. I'd really like to do 12 x 15's sealed - but not sure if i have the room (about 42"H x 42" W x 53"L - is about what i have to work with)....so if anyone has ideas of how to fit the 12 x 15's in there let me know.....other ideas are also welcome.....looking at Fi SSD's and Ascendant Arsenals if i'm going with a lot of subs.....also looking at 4 x 18" BL's or Ascendant Havocs. Let me know what you guys think, and if you have any other ideas - dont have a whole lot to spend either.

Actually, the Kinetik 2400's and Powermaster 3100's were the 2 batteries i have it narrowed down to. I'm hoping to be able to afford a powermaster alt later on in the season too. -

what batteries do you guys think for bass race??? I'll be using 4 x sundown 1500's for amps. -
wall it!!! had a wall with 2 x 18's in my last car - actually saved my life when i rolled the car coming back form world finals - car was totaled but the wall wasnt damaged at all and actually kept me from getting crushed - damn thing was about 7 in thick in the weakest part lol
