id be interested in selling one of mine for the right price. ive had it for about a month and been running 600watts to it with a jbl in a sealed box.

I built a sealed box for my car already but i need to build a ported box for comps. Ive got 2 15'' d2s with 1200 watts rms My cars resonant frequency is about 35 from what ive read. Should i tune it to 35? or to what the subs are reccommended to? or ive heard to tune about 10-12 hz above my cars resonant freq.?
-
its an rsx, ive heard that the resonant frequency is anywhere from 45-55. i want spl. i'm looking to compete. should i tune to my cars resonant frequency or should i tune to what SI says to tune to?

I installed them today in the back of the rsx in a sealed box. They are running off a jble 1200.1. So far I havent been pushing them too hard because i want to break them in properly. They are running off the stock head unit spliced into my rear speaker. They wont get very loud but when they do they shake your whole body. They are very accurate and have great response to the fast bass lines. I'll be getting a real head unit next week and be ready to push these to their limits. Sorry for the crappy pic, it was taken at night with a camera phone.

so there are only 20 15's out there?
-
well i pushed them a bit harder today. I looked at the amp and all the settings were turned all the way down. so i turned them up and pushed the subs a bit more. They are almost as loud as the 4 12'' mtxs i had in my old blazer. the mtxs had 2000 watts though. They aren't as punchy as i was expecting but thats because i have them spliced into onyl one speaker because i have a factory head unit. My box has a few leaks that i will patch with some fiber glass resin as soon as i can. there is a small leak where i drilled the hole for the sub a bit too big. Ill fix this by getting some speaker rings (anyone know where i can get some online besides select products?) So far I can give them everything the jbl 1200.1 has, about 1400 watts, and they do not clip at all. I will keep you all updated as i progress on the project. My first competition is april the 18th, I will hopefully get metered before then and let you all know.

Ive got 2 15'' d2's and about 7 cubes to work with if that. Should I port it or just go ahead and seal it off? Im running a jbl 1200.1 to them and its in a hatchback. I want all the spl I can get.
-
Hmm you guys arent helping! I want the maximum spl I can get. I'll go vented if itll get me louder even if it doesnt sound good. Im thinking of making a ported enclosuer that i can plug up and make a huge sealed box. If I do go sealed whats the largest I should make my box and keep it as loud as possible?

iim just not sure that i can port it effectively with that little amount of space
