    Sundown SAZ-1500d

my remote wire was a little loose but I don't think that it draws enough to cause all four to blow.. I was cranking it up pretty hard so I don't know.. the fuse from the battery didn't blow. I replaced them for now but I still have no idea what caused it. Thanks for the reply though

While driving my amp turned off and inspecting it I found that all four fuses on the amp were blown. What all could have possibly caused this?

Idiot here poked a hole through the rubber surround.

Thanks a lot for the response... I'll just deal with the silicone until they shred apart lol.

ooh ok.. sounds like it'd be pretty expensive then. I thought they could just replace the foam surrounding and the cone without messing with anything else.

My zip code is 29150. The only option they might have is the copper coils. I don't think I did anything else. Yeah if it isn't horribly expensive I'll get you guys to fix them. I do like my Fi subs to look pretty, lol.
  6. Screwdriver slipped and I poked a medium sized hole in the rubber surrond. I have it plugged up with silicone right now, but I was wondering how much it would cost to fix if I shipped it back to you guys. It's a 12" SSD. Thanks.

Subs I bought are the wrong ohms..

at 2ohms each sub would only get half the watts than they would at 1 ohm, Just wanted to get all of what I paid for from the amp

It would definitely be nicer to have the .5 ohms, the electrical upgrades would cost around $250 at least for my car though. I might just do that, I'll have to see how much it would cost to get or even if it's possible for them to switch out the voice coils.

Wouldn't that put the amp in protect mode or just blow it up?
  10. I bought 2 12" SSD 2 ohm DVC subwoofers about 4 months months ago. I finally finished the fiberglass box three days ago. Anyways, I'm using the Sundown Audio Mono 1500W rms amp, and as my cousin and I were looking over it we realized that there was no possible way to get two 2 Ohm DVC subs down to one ohm with that set up. We'd have to do 2ohms which would only be giving me half the power from that amp. My question is, what can I do about it? I emailed [email protected] 2 days ago and I haven't gotten a response so I was hoping the forums would be a little faster. Is there any way that I could ship the subwoofers back to you guys and get the dual voice coils changed to 1 ohm? And if so how much would that cost and all that? Thanks for any help -edit- Also, the subs have never been hooked up, if that means anything.

Planning on buying some Fi subs, need advice though.

Yea I emailed you guys, thanks for the quick reply. That is the set up I'm going with, as soon as I transfer money to the checking account in about 10 mins I'm ordering both.

Is that with or without any of the options.. I'm just asking if I would need any of the options if I only got a 1500 rms amp. Also, where would I buy a sundown 1500d... I've heard them mentioned before but a google search doesn't really show any official web page or anything.

Ok, what about all the options on the ssd? What are they? I know what the BP power is but I don't know if I should get it.. I'd have to buy a 2000 watt amp with that right?... with the BP option each of them would be around 1000 rms or so?

Thanks for all the quick replies. The 2 12s sound good from you guys' advice. Just to make sure though, 2 of those would sound better than 1 12" btl.. cause it seems to me that I could get 1 btl with a ported box(seems like everyone likes ported better) and it alone would have 400 or so more watts rms than the 2 12s for less money. Sorry about all the questions, as you can see I've got some stuff to learn.

Well the box is going to be funky shaped.. on the parts you can't see anyway. Have you ever seen those boxes that just look flush with the well or w/e.. That's what I'm doing. Something like this That's about 2 cubic feet.... I have enough room for 2 12s, 1 15 or maybe even one ported 12, like the btl I'm just trying to see what would be the best out of those.
