feels like a dumb question

well for one i need an amp stable down to 1 ohm and i'm pretty sure the zx line is only stable down to 2 it feels like kicker amps and RE subs just don't go together like a peanut butter and caviar sandwich -

Looking for Pioneer H/U

you can keep the stock HU, and if all you want is more bass you'll get it but like mrray13 said crossovers are a big plus especially when adding a subwoofer since you no longer need to rely on door speakers for bass what usually happens since your stock HU doesn't have crossovers you end up having to turn down the bass on your HU which will lower the output of your amp which in turn forces you to turn up the gain, which isnt bad but definetly not ideal its pretty easy to hack into a stock system and add a sub and amp, so try it and see if it suits you if you end up wanting better sound at least you'll already have the wiring ran for your amp -

geeeeez pay court fees or buy killer amp ~ pay court fees or buy killer amp i think i'm losing my license
-
is there any relation? ie. would two subs showing an impedance of 4 ohms have a better chance at SQ than two subs showing 1 ohm
-
it sounds like you're saying it is possible but it depends on the amp which might suck for me cause i was thinking about getting the Hifonics BXi1606D and running it at 1 ohm
-
but when i push on the cone or surround it works again, i'm pretty sure it has something to with the spider monkey or whatever but i'm not sure thanks
-
k well the subwoofer is a 10" infinity 1030w (fantastic SQ sub) and the amp was an MTX282 i had the gain on the amp almost maxed out so that might explain the heavy current thing the tinsel lead isnt exactly hanging by a thread or two but it is pretty wiggily how the F do you fix that, the woofer is still perfectly good right except for the tinsel thing?
-
wait why would i check the ohmagem?
-
ooh you're fast k nevermind it wasnt the spider monkey it was actually the tinsel leads they're still connected but the wire is kinda dark near the terminals is they're a quick fix for this?
