  1. I bought a DE-1000 (notice: not 1000-DE) to power a TC Sounds 10" OEM. I was under the impression that the amp put out 1000 watts at 2ohms, cause that's what the US Amps site lists it at. However, I spoke with Greg at US Amps a few minutes ago and he claimed that it did 700x1@2ohms 1000x1@1ohm. He did not state that the US Amps site was wrong, but just said that's what it did. The US Amps site lists the DE-1000 stable down to 1.5 ohms. It rates it for 1000x1@2ohms. According to Amp Guts, the 1000-DE is rated at 700x1@2 ohms, and 1000x1@1 ohm. So what does it really put out? Was Greg simply confused between the two? (I did call back and ask him about the 1000-DE vs. the DE-1000....he claimed that they put out the exact same power though, and that they're very similar...) Or does it really only put out 700x1@2 ohms? Need answers ASAP. Thanks.
  2. Wasn't getting any answers in the sub section so I moved this here..... I'm looking into a 10 or 12" sub and I'm tryin to find a choice from the Fi/AA lineup. I want to run it sealed. I'm looking for great SQ with a good amount of output. I have UP TO 1500 watts available, but i can go as low as 300 watts. The Arsenal seems to be the one to look at from AA's lineup without breaking the bank. The Havoc seems to be a bit too much SPL oriented i think? From Fi's lineup, I'm strictly looking at the Q. So how does Arsenal compare with the Q. Is SQ the same with a little less output, or does the Q have better SQ? Thanks for the help.

Where does an AA Arsenal fit in the Fi lineup?

k im not worried about power that much.....im simply worried about SQ for the most part. with regards to SQ, would it still slot in lower than the SSD? or where would it go with regards to that? thanks for the help i appreciate it.

  6. ah ok i get what you're saying now. maybe scott or chad could pop in here and give an opinion.
  7. so the Q is gonna be superior in SQ? or how exactly would it be better if the Arsenal would slot in below it?

Best 10" SQ Setup for $300 or less?

sry but i cant fit anything more than 10s.....deal is that im buying 2 subs but they're gonna be getting transferred between different enclosures. one enclosure will be able to hold a single 10 only....itll be an 11 or 12" cube. that has to fit in a tight spot. the other doesnt have to fit in a tight spot. it will hold both subs without any problems. so 10s are necessary. i was just thinkin about some stuff today.....the subs dont have to go extremely low. i listen to a lot of classic rock and country. rap is behind both of those in terms of how much time i spend listening to it. so a sub thats not a low end monster is fine with me. something that goes higher up is actually fine too because of that. do any of those subs fill that role? regardless....what should i look at for SQ with a 10? lastly, due to an amp rearrangement....i will have 1600 watts at 1 ohm on tap for power. so no more 800 watt thingy.
  9. Hey what would you choose for the best 10" SQ sub for $75 or less? I know that's not much to work with but those are my limitations right now so that's life. I can feed it up to 800 watts RMS. It will be run sealed in an 11" cube...so like .5 ft^3. Lemme know what you guys think. Thanks. EDIT: Go to second page....entire goal changed due to increased finances.

Best 10" SQ Setup for $300 or less?

i ended up buying the oem 10 before i heard any of the glue stuff....i just wanted to see what everyone would have to say without knowing i had bought it....regardless, i think i might turn around and sell it when i get it.....i sold an amp today so ive upped my budget entirely. i dont feel confident in the sub holding up and i dont want to deal with TC's customer service if it breaks...ive heard they're pretty atrocious. i'm now looking to spend up to 300ish bucks on a dual 10 setup. they have to be 10's due to size restraints on the box. ive come up with a few ideas for 10's on my own, but please pitch in anything else that you can think of. i dont know if all of these are SQ oriented or SPL oriented so if im mistaken on any of them plz let me know. my goal was to avoid name brand stuff....JL, Arc, Kicker, Phoenix Gold, Memphis, Arc, etc. also im willing to go with a single 10 setup too. i dont need something that can be heard blocks away. just some tight SQ. AA Assassin 10" x2 AA Arsenal 10" x2 (is there enough difference to merit another 100 bucks between this and the assassins?) SoundSplinter RL-I 10" x2 Fi Q 10" (1 Sub Only due to price) SSA Icon 10" (1 Sub Only due to price) Please pitch in more ideas if you have any and let me know what you think. Thanks, and sorry to completely change the direction of this thread.

Best 10" SQ Setup for $300 or less?

they'd be more likely to unglue from like 1100-1200 watts than from 800 right? or would they unglue either way you go? what in particular causes something like that to happen, and how easy is it to fix? i really dont wanna deal with TC Sounds cust. svc.......ive seen enough stuff about them to get scared away real quick.

    Merlin MD.23 Reviews?

I've got an offer for a brand new MD.23 for $250 shipped....I'm guessing it doesn't have a warranty..? How do you US Amps hold up? Do they tend to break down a lot or are they pretty stable? I would buy with warranty but its almost $450 more than this guy is offering for from my understanding...the price of an extra 2 non-warranty MD.23's. Does anyone know where to get these for significantly cheaper than $700 and still have a warranty? Regardless of the warranty, how do you like the Merlin line itself? Is it a big step down from the AX line? What other company's amps does the Merlin line compare to? Have any of you guys used the MD.23, or are you familiar with it at all? I've heard they bench more than they're rated for...how much more could you expect at 4ohms bridged on the MD.23 than the 1kw is rated for? Can the MD.23 be run at 2 ohms bridged by any chance? Or is it likely to blow by doing this..? I've heard some can run at 2 ohms bridged.. Also, what would it put out bridged at 2 ohms? So overall, what do you guys think of the MD.23, and what should I be paying for it? I'm gonna be using it for sub duty. Thanks for the help.
