After watching this for a bit, I feel I should chime in. 1. Recovering from a 15 year tenure in the foodservice world, I can say that it is a known fact that people are 100's of times more likely to speak up about a bad experience. This is a purely indisputable, universal customer service fact. I don't care what anyone says. Knowing this, I am sure that the bad experiences people have had with eD can't even come close to the good experiences. 2. Ben is a tool. The other guys he has working for him are awesome. I also should say that Lucio Proni is a tool and Lloyd Ivey is also a tool as are a whole bunch of people I have encountered in the car audio circle since ~1990. I still buy their products. 3. I have on multiple times proclaimed my eD 13ov.2 to sound like absolute trash in anything but a non-recommended vented box and still have not been banned from ICIX. 4. So far, the eD products I have owned have all worked OK. They are not exceptional though. Recently, I had some mechanical noise issues with some 9kv.2s that I have been running. They are in the RMA pipes now (I will likely base any future opinion I have on eD on the outcome of this situation). I will not be purchasing a 13av.2 simply because I have no use for a uber-high excursion, mounting-depth-almost-as-deep-as-it-is-wide, 55 pound boat anchor. Not because of anything eD business realated or because some people on the intrawebz cry about them. I simply think the idea is effin' dumb and unneccesary in the 12 volt world. Unfortunately, this stupid ugly subwoofer will probably make or break eD's future. Ben has pretty much had to ignore any other new product developement because of his colossal waste of "engineering" time or legal defense or whatever drama of the 13av.2. This, IMO, is what is currently pissing people off the most. As for me, whether or not I ever purchase another eD product will likely be based on their service on my warranty issue. One thing I have noticed: People on many forums seem to be almost supportive of the TC Sounds debacle (I know, rumors blah blah). I wonder if people here will talk about Thilo in the same way as Ben Milne when it turns out he has probable shady business practices and makes promises he can't keep too.

I want to get my BMI back to not over-weight and bring my blood pressure down a scosche. I am not concerned with gaining muscle mass or strength. Due to my family history, I am seriously worried about my ticker and it's tubing. Aerobic fitness = my goal. The rest will fall in after that.

1200 watts, 2.9 ft^3 @ 33 hz, 15.5"x3" port. It sounded awesome and got deep and fairly loud. I loved it for most kinds of music....the reason I don't have this current setup anymore is because more than half the music I listen to is jazz. Unfortunately, this setup and jazz equalled poo. I may try a sealed, lower-powered system with the same sub in the future.

i googled it, but where can i find this "form finder"? thanks! you can find it at mobilesolutions.com, they also have them at other online stores with rulers built in, google "flexible curve" They can also be bought at pretty much any Office Max/Depot or store that sells drafting and art supplies. -
So I pulled my Rl-p15 out of it's home and lo-and-behold there is a bit of surface rust on the backplate. What I want to know is, would there be any harm in taking it off with some Scotchbrite and then maybe wiping it down with some WD40 on a soft cloth? Obviously I would take precautions so as not to introduce any FOD in to the vent/VC area. Thanks in advance.

No, not really. Tucson, but we had a fairly heavy rainy season this year with quite a bit of humidity.

Depending on when.....it might be worth a drive up from hell/tucson. -
Every time I see a hair-trick vid, the girl(s) look just like an actress in an "adult feature film" waiting to receive the money shot.

I am glad to have my RLp15 and hope it does not become a museum piece. How many others downstream are being effected by TC's increases? I don't even know who they do OEM for anymore, besides SS.

Wow.....you are truly an idiot in the purest definition. You are a lucky fudge. I wonder if I would roll my chit trying to swerve and hit yer mom.

Thank you, Mike. I understand the manufacturing variance thing all too well. I think I probably will pull my own specs, I am eyeing one of the new WT3 speaker testers that PE just came out with (a steal at $100). The driver is pretty well burnt in by now. I have had it in a 3 cube ported box in my car for about the last 2 months plus I ran it on a 15hz sine @ around 1" peak-to-peak excursion for a few hours before installing.
-
The thread title asks the question. How accurate are they? Are there manufacturing allowances/tolerances? I have heard that most published T/S specs can be off by as much as +/- 20%, is this so for Soundsplinter? I want to know mainly because I want to make a maximally flat (.707 Q) sealed enclosure for my RL-p15 d2 and no matter how I run the numbers, I end up with ~1.75 cubes (I am excited about being able to use such a small box). I know the website says 3 cubes, but is this a low Q design by intention?

His GN was the best car system I ever listened to. Period.

Is USAcoustics Still Around
Typo_Knig replied to NB50's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I don't think they're in business anymore. The amps that theyhad made by Zed that Crutchfield used to sell were effin' fantastic. -
Note both of them, they are both full-on OG. But....this thread is dripping with time warpage.

I need more posts, too.

I can tell you TL's are pretty impressive, quite possibly as close to the perfect subwoofer alignment as one can get if well designed and executed. Advice = choose a driver with a Qts of at least .40 and a relatively high fs (30 to 35 hz).

Great subs that never should have been discontinued....

Too bad Adire is now officially Out Of Business. http://www.adireaudio.com/ -
I could do it. Your tuning frequency should be a lot higher though, like around 55 hz. I am thinking a -3db around 35 hz with about a 3db gain in the passband. I could actually make it smaller than your given dims too.
