It doesn't matter who is tuning the system. You can't make chicken soup out of chicken shit. What you are doing is comparable to buying a transmission for vehicle you don't know what engine is in it. No one can decide anything until specifications are published.

Time for new subs what to get??

Don't calculate with the published xmax. Calculate with 25mm which is the approximate coil overhang. -

I'd be Leary of any driver that doesn't have any posted specs or prices. Or they don't list specs bc they are custom built to order. Transducer design doesn't work that way. -

Pull THE carpet panel out and remove your back speakers. You don't need them anyway. -

Going from the shit you had before to a high output sub is going to be a night and day difference. If you face the subs back in a big box with no space for air to circulate it'll be like donkey kong is beating the piss out of ur trunk. You want then to face forward. No need to seal off you'll never hear the difference if you did. -

Get some cardboard and make the largest box that u can slide into the trunk. You will want to face th subs forward. -

EVIL Tahoe | Mark's SSA DEMO MACHINE **new pics p8**

I like M5's 6th order idea. The ability to a few db's of boost over the passband and still have a lower f3 in the 20's. -
Ur a bit late to the game. http://www.listeninc.com/us/index.html

That's cuz u ain't got no loud wufferlers

You aren't hearing clipping. That is impossible. You are hearing the driver being driven past its mechanical limits in its environment due to the extra power being sent to it. On most all testing devices it is impossible to test class d amplifiers due to slew rate limiting caused by the switching process. For the price I highly doubt the DD1 or any other hobbyist's s ope will be able to either.

In case you didn't look closely at the photos, the port is wrapped in suede. That is not paint. -
Newb System Advice-Subs and Amp

If you look closely at the box I used a small piece of trunk liner where there was a large gap. Besides that no. You only need fiberglass. I could have just used cardboard to shape that gap but the carpet flowed nicer aroj d the curve of the bottom of the truck. -
Anyone ever heard one of these?

No, there is no extra xmax. The driver is advertised as 50mm one way linear. The industry standard for a subwoofer being linear is when the sub reaches 70% of its original BL or when the suspension reaches 50% of its original compliance. Ideally you want the two to be matched through out the cone movement. If not the first if the two to reach these limits dictates xmax. Those softparts are the same as the Sundown ones. Jacob has listed Klippel results of these parts on another site and they hit 50% conpliance at ~30mm one way. Therefore it is impossible for them to be linear past this point. The cone may move more than this but it is not linear. -

Tape. You will want to do two layers to insure no bleed thru. -

They've got those abs vacuum formed ones that are pretty cheap.
-
So your looking for a soft one?
-
Then you don't want snugtop. Due to their quality and tight gap clearances they will be on the higher side.

I've had good luck with snugtop

subwoofer feedback help
Quentin Jarrell replied to Garrett Tait's topic in Technical Info & How To's
so if i understand correctly you have the center of the rca hooked up and not the outer wire? RCA's have two wires in them. The center which the positive and the outer wiring which is the negative. -

They are no where near linear at 50mm. The softparts are only linear to 30mm. And if the coil is long enough for 50mm excursion there would only be about 1/4-1/2 inch before the coil slammed into the backplate. Assuming there are 4 one inch thick slugs being used.
