What is your definition on SQ. We want to make sue you go the best possible route for what you are trying to achieve. -

Also he is making videos of each test (explained about 5 posts up), so I'm sure this is taking a little time as well. -

About 24 hrs. I talked to him Monday evening and he said testing might start on Monday evening or Tuesday. He does testing on a few thousand transducers a year, some companies send hundreds at a time, every year. So I try not to aggravate him much. He's normally on the ball so expect to hear from him soon. I have no doubts on the product. At the most, enclosure specs could change by .25 cubic feet and tuning a hertz or two up or down. I've already tested it with a DATS and manually calculating parameters by hand. Also had it installed and playing for about 24 hrs of playing time. I just want verification via an industry standard testing procedure before I publish results. It's taking me a bit longer than most. But it's better than winging it and I believe most of y'all appreciate the extra steps taken. -

Clamp tests for burping purposes are perfectly fine as long as the meters used are accurate and all controls are measured and found to be the same. Controls are things like tone being played, sing all input voltage, power input voltage, enclosure and placement in vehicle. As long as the co trolls are the same for each transducer then you can accurately calculate results. He is using two different impedance drivers therefore one of them will be recieving double the power. Now if the amplifier was adjusted so that wattage output was the same on each driverthen there would be no problem. But that wasn't done. As far as clamp tests for rating an RMS rating on an amp no it is not physically possible with a couple of clamp and DM meters. Just because "this is all you have" don't make it right to assume its ok to do. I can't speak for anyone else here but you can look at just about any of my posts here and not find theroritical rhetoric. I work with three of the top acoustical transducer engineers in the world to ensure so.

Basic 4th grade scientific method. If the controls in the experiment are not constant or there is no way to insure the controls are constant the the results of the testing are inconclusive. And a Termlab is not an accurate DB meter it is only consistent which is why it is used.
-
Because there are proper ways of testing and we try to keep inaccurate testing away from here so uneducated people don't repeat what they assume to be accurate. His test could be valid and helpful for his particular vehicle and system set up but the same power wasn't even applied to the drivers. There are far better tools to figure out what driver is louder or better for a given set of variables.

Lifting weights help maintain bone mass which is reduced by age.

Yea, already talked to Nick several times. Gonna be using 10 of the 80.1's in an Astro.

Need some of them new amplimafiers

skip to 2:00 and watch Dan green lift. That is nearly identical to how I hold the bar.
-
not if your knees are out like they are suppose to be.
-
I think he was a bit high, (high as in not squatting far enough down) but form was perfect. I set the bar a couple inches lower than he does.
-
If you and nick will tighten up I might make it up that way. Expecting to go to gatlinburg around that time anyway.
-
They got plenty of super heavy weights capable of getting their ass down far enough. I'm sure it's possible.
-
Take that tutorial with a grain of salt. He obviously doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. 1. You'll never find a professional powerlifter with the bar on their neck like that. 2. In order for a squat to be legal the top of the thigh must be parallel or below the top of the knee. Not 6 inches above like in his pictures.
