Team Jersey for competitors.
Quentin Jarrell replied to Quentin Jarrell's topic in Direct Sound Solutions
The way I see it is these guys spend their hard earned money and more importantly their time on my product I need to try as hard as possible to ensure they know they are supported and appreciated. One of my most important goals is to cater to the needs of people who sometimes without even thinking about it has the biggest impact on sales for my company. As long as my budget allows and it is not against any comp rules I'll be here to help. -

Not sure. I want something extremely nice and professional. Not some cheap dickies button up shirt. -
The sub would go in the floor but I have ok fiberglass skills. You'd only lose 3 or so inches of depth in the trunk.

I think that applies to anything you like doing that you turn into a career. I know I could care less if I evere install another head unit again.

First car, desiring first sub
Quentin Jarrell replied to TheGr33nNinja's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Thanks for the welcome! I've been working and spending time with the lady, but I had some time. I did the best I could to get dimensions, and I even snapped a couple pics. Before we get started, let me show you guys what i'm working with here. So, from how I measured, I want to play it on the semi safe side to make sure it gets in, and to have a tiny bit of trunk space left over. Really though I just don't want have a box that's too big to fit so I played it pretty safe on the numbers. Here's what I got. Entry size 35" inside trunk: 17" deep 38.5" wide from wheel hub to wheel hub (i'd have to remove that stock pitiful sub) 12.5" height Those are my numbers I got. Again, they're a little safe, but I just wouldn't want a box too big to fit. So there's a couple inches give i'd say in a few directions. Now then, back to some questions. I have no idea, when I get the sub, since i'm going single setup biggest sub I can fit, what ohm should I get the XCON? I know nothing of wiring. Also! There may be a spot for the batteries. Under that trunk there's a wheel well with a full size spare tire. Surely I could fit batteries where a full size tire fits. Also, i'm not sure how much an alternator runs, but i'm sure I could work it into my budget. I ave to make sure that wouldn't void my warranty or anything just h. I remember I went to one shop and he was trying to sell me a HO alternator pushing about 216 amps for about $1 an amp I think. It was a year ago though so it's hazy, but i'm sure I could work it into my budget. Just gotta make sure I won't' void anything. Any help is appreciated here to decide which size sub best will fit my needs. I'm really open to suggestions. I trying to be as optimal as possible with what space I have. Perhaps i'll get another battery while i'm at it and throw it in the spare tire well and throw out the tire. I honestly hadn't considered an extra battery. Sounds like a good idea though. I'd really appreciate a designed box if you can take the time to do that for me. That'd be amazing. All I can think of of what i'd want from the box is for it to pound out lows and be loud so I can feel the bass (along with others around me ). So I know ported, and tuned around 32. I honestly don't know how low you can go and be advised to tune that low, but I figure 32 is good. Thanks for the welcome! Don't worry about voiding warrany. It is federal law that the repair shop has to prove the aftermarket has caused damaged to the vehilv causing a voide i nwarranty -
I am very very very very very glad they decided to not make it look like a stock vette. It'll gonna tear the new viper a nes arseho without a doubt. especially with the PS2's. And I am a die hard viper fan. I'd still get a gen 4 acr and throw on a twin turbo and spank that ass on the track

I come from 12 years of gifted visual arts so I realy appreciate the artwork. I just not fond of the canvas. However no one can argue with are intellect and skill it takes to create artwork like that. I fully admire it strickly as are I just don't prefer the canvas. I much more enjoy it framed in a venue.

First car, desiring first sub

w40 has some bninb stuff for sale right now. id jump on it. He sells more stuff here than the SSA stuff here more than likely. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from him and I've sold a few things to him as well. I'm also partial to Incriminator. I'd do one of their lower line subs, theri 500 watt amp, a nice customs box and wiring from Knu concepts, and maybe an addaptor if needed. This should be well with i nyour budget and be plenty loud. All this can be found in SAA's store -

smd dd1, legit? or not
Quentin Jarrell replied to a1sauce47's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
On one of the most recent threads here the man how designed the unit stated that is is only capable of measuring a couple frequencies. It is not a wide spectrum analyzer. For example it may detect destitution at 500 and 1,000 hertz but nothing below, between, or above. -
While i eagerly await some Ethos let me bring you up to speed.
Quentin Jarrell replied to 97maxima's topic in Direct Sound Solutions
Samples were built and Klippeled however at large signal there wasn't enough shift in parameters from stock format to offer it. -
If you need help with the box I know a guy who knows a guy.

Quentin Jarrell replied to 97maxima's topic in Direct Sound Solutions
Yes sir!Nice! I'm getting some ethos soon too. I just need to figure out if 15s will fit, if not then definitely some 12sfrom my understanding they like a small boxYea they do! Quentin had designed them to work well in small boxes.Have you checked this out? http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/59904-ethos-bandpass-option/?hl=%2Bethos+%2Bbandpass I had looked into the option for a strictly BP option but found it was needed after final large signal Klippel testing. The stock spider pack does well in ~3.5 total cft with a passband of ~ 25-75 hz -

can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Quentin Jarrell replied to dragon123443's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
A clipped signal creates more power over a given period. This is the only thing that will kill a sub. The coil is just a wound up wire it doesn't care what type of power it recieved as long as it does not exceed it's thermal rating it won't break. The only other reason for failure would be the tensil leads breaking which should not be an issue as the parts should work well past the mechanical clearance of the edge. Or the coil is bottoming out and the coil is shorting out on the back plate. But you should be able to hear that. -
