An update on what's going on with our subwoofers
Quentin Jarrell replied to Quentin Jarrell's topic in Direct Sound Solutions
Here's a few FEA graphs A cut a way of the motor A pic of the flux field. The flux gap is nearly 3 inches wide A pic of the BL curve. BL is still above 95 percent all the way to 20" one way. This is why xbl topolgy os so energy efficient. This driver should need only 60% of its competition's power to achieve the same output. -

Pics will be up for the Genisis shortly. I have all parts in besides the spiders. I expect at least a month before I get the motors for the Divine from China. -

Cortisone is a steroid as stated it doesn't last long. It is only for pain and doesn't heal anything. Arthritis is a long term effect. I have had three in my left knee. I normally limp on it for a few days before I feel relief. They have some new stuff they use now but I'm nit sure of the name of it. I have my dr put me half asleep though bc it hurts like he'll. I tore my acl clean into was in a cast and then brace for 8 months

Don't let a few negative threads steer you away from DC. Mark and Arron let them have vendor space here for a reason. -
10" Dcon measurement questions and 10" sub recommendations
Quentin Jarrell replied to JETSWU87's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
If your box Takes up most of the space in the cubby hole by the back bumper you have plenty enough airspace for a dcon. I have done countless installs in vetts, however all the boxes were fiberglassed to utilize as much space in the cubby as possible. A w1 is nowhere near the same playing field as a dcon -
Look at the link at the top if my forum section. There is a section there that explains all parameters that is understandable

Got a question for you all
Quentin Jarrell replied to [email protected]'s topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
You will not find a new comparable sub with the same goals at the same price due to the fact when you buy FI you are buying directly from the manufacturer with no retailer mark-up. -
I know exactly how it has to be built as I have done 3 JL w7 10's ported in one. I just don't know what the exact measurements are.
-
Just the hole for the t-tops won't be enough. It will gave to extend onto the gas tank/cargo area
-
I pay good money for this forum spot. Do not publicly take business from me. If need be send him a pm, I do not put up with stuff like this
-
If you can supply exact measurements I can build it. I won't promise it will fit but it will be to your measurements.

Not made in China
Quentin Jarrell replied to hardrock2401's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Everything has some portion of it made foreign. Stuff may be assembled in USA. But it might be bauxite from France to make allulminum, sub frames built in china, spiders made in Mexico from US cotton and nomex. Did you know that the US exports nearly 40 percent of it's scrap steel to china to be forged then has it shipped back here to build stuff with it. From the lower Mississippi river and the port of Houston Texas, the company I work for surveys over 180,000 metric tons of scrap steel a day that is exported to china to be forged and is then sent back here. Most of which is a grade 3A which means it has less than .5 percent trash in it. On average it stows on a ship at 60 cubic feet per metric ton. This means that the amount of steel us companies pay the Chinese to forge for them everyday out of just these two ports fills up 10,800,000 cubic feet -

First off don't listen to your buddy he's gonna get you in trouble. Stick to IA recommended enclosure sizes and tuning listed on their site.

Try to find some shallow mount stereo integrity shallow mounts. You will not find a better shallow mount. It has 50% more excursion than the JL, which is hands down the best big box brand shallow mount on the market

Yes you have to factor in the flare itself which adds effective length. This "extra" length depends on the rate of the flare. Let me get on my computer and see if I can find a calculator for flare rate. If not I have the equation for it
