    "Breaking In" of Subs.

They don't break in f1 engines. Tolerances are so tight they are seized at room temperature. They have to be heated to crank them up.

    Check out my website

Considering the number of people that use iPhones I would use a format that isn't entirely Flash.

No more enclosures. I have other things brewing for the first of the year.

Where can I get fiberglass "kitty hair"

US composites is where I buy all my materials.

    Ampless component suggestions

I misread ur first post. I thought you DID want it to keep up. Personally I prefer Focal. I run polyglass 165's in my daily beater off stock headunit.

    Ampless component suggestions

Not using an amp is fine but expecting them to keep up with a couple high output sub while only using 1/2 or 1/4 of rated power is ridiculous

need to double baffle in this case?

No not if internally braced enough to prevent flexing

    "Recent topics" not showing up?

Had that issue a few weeks ago. And had all my topics removed yesterday from a ton of different ip addresses logged into my account.

    Small SSD 10 Box

If I had a cool sub I'd install it where it would perform the best. But what do I know, I'm just a noob.

    Small SSD 10 Box

I would Put the enclosure under the seat. It will sound much better with something to load off of. Plus you keep your seat. One 3 inch port is not enough. I would use double that amount.

    crescendo audio 10004

If the noise is due to not enough time delay you could always use a relay and a capacitor to delay turn-on for a bit.

    Cotton vs. Polyfill

Goolge it. I inspected a flash fire at a cotton facility this past spring. Bulk commodities are a thing I know a little about.

    Cotton vs. Polyfill

No, cotton dust is explosive. I wouldn't put it in a pressurized enclosure where a sub's coil could ark against it's motor and cause a flash fire.
  14. Correct, I'm no competitor but these organizations don't have an official list that states amplifiers rated outputs( or outputs that they consider rated). I know there is a lot of amps on the market but it would seem it would be worth the time to ensure no unintentional cheating would occur in power classes.
  15. As he and I both said in the real world it doesn't work that way bc amps aren't 100 percent efficient. Higher the ohm load you gain efficientcy, lower the ohm load you lose it.
  16. Funny thing is 85 bucks a year with cea (plus 125 membership). And about a 500 bucks to powercube to rate the amp is all it takes..... ....oh and an amp that does actually does rated power.

    This Ship Has Sailed!

Um... I thought liberale was Latin for "all senses" Like his brew would entice all of your senses.
  18. No you can't just calculate it like that bc efficientcy is different depending on the impedance f the driver. And you can't just use clamp meters bc you have no way to tell how much distortion is being created(unless u got a super duper SMD distortion detector) On a side note you'd know the rated power at 4 ohms if it was cea 2006 rated.

    sa-8 box help

Net= minus sub, port, and bracing If the box was 1 foot with sub, port, and bracing. All equalled .4 foot then you would have .6 foot net.

    sa-8 box help

.6 cubic feet net after all displacements. 14 square inches of port area. Tune to 35 hertz.

    No more enclosures

For the foreseeable future I will no longer build enclosures. I have one last bandpass to complete and that will be it. I will leave this section open until the end of the year. After that I may possibly move to the manufacturer section.

    No more enclosures

Average price for a dual 12 enclosure with kerf port and flush baffle. $200 (what others charge) Minus cost of: Wood $50 carpet $35 paint $5 nails $2 Carpet glue $10 Wood glue $2 Packaging. $5 Heavy duty terminals $15 = 124 makes a profit of $76. This doesn't include wear and tear on equipment. Average time from initial dealings with client to getting package ready to ship is 6-8 hours. I cant compete with someone that is willing to work for $9- $12 an hour. Not including my vendor fees to SSA.
