Trident 12'' sub (an on going design thread)

The 12" frame I'm working on allows for a 11.25'" OD spider. All softparts are being designed with FineCONE.

I need to port a box

I would just leave it sealed. You're not going to gain much output out of those two tiny ports. Port compression is going to be so bad it's just going to act like a leaky sealed box.

Megace is some nasty stuff. I gained a lot of fat from it over the few weeks I was on it. I could eat and eat. Still feel full but still be hungry. Very weird sensation.

Google world of outlaw. Looks like fun but dangerous. I'd never run them. Ill stick to late model. Plus way more money in sprints. My uncle has about 50 grand in just his motor.

    Welcome to the IHoP

What the hell are those things called ? They are sprint cars; that particular variety being World of Outlaws. Pretty much just a several hundred pound chassis with 8-900 horsepower, no trans. They will pull the wheels on dirt doing 100+mph with no effort. Yep nasty little puckers. 800-900 horses on a 1,500 pound car. They use the same type of tremic that I use in my late model car. It's a direct drive trans with no gearing. You have a small spocket for moving around the pits and getting onto the track. Then you just throw it in "gear" to haul ass. Dirt isn't like NASCAR when you're racing you don't change gears because well you only have one. All the gearing is in the rear end which comes out as one assembly. You change them per the track your running. I normally use a 732 gear. On a typical 1/8 mile straight you can get up to about 120 and around 75 in the turns. The sprint cars normally run about 25 mile an hour faster.

    CES 2013 jan8-13

I wouldn't see why it would justify price increase. CEA certs are only 300-500 a year per product. I don't see Klippel charging much more. That's nothing spread of 100's of thousands of units.

    CES 2013 jan8-13

This is nothing new. Every large manufacturer already implements Klippel R&D and QC. And I don't mean just RF or JL, the actual people like Sonovox in China who are physically building the drivers. It's not only testing for design but quality control on the assembly line testing each and every driver for things like coil offset and rub and buzz. I see two problems that will need to be addressed. 1) the Klippel QC has allowed variances that the user can adjust. And 2) how will Klippel actually regulate and monitor its usage in the field.

And here lies the problem. Then again Rockford has the time and money to educate the public so we will see.

    Focal vs alpine

They are both good quality amps. I'd get the alpine solely bc it's brand new.

Pull the headliner down and sandwich a sheet of "mass loaded vinyl" between the headliner and sheetmetal.

Some basics for Sound Quality purposes

According to Webster it was entered in its dictionary in 1951 and is defined as: a person who is enthusiastic about high-fidelity sound reproduction. High-fidelity was entered in 1934 and is defined as the reproduction of an effect that is very faithful to the original

    Welcome to the IHoP

I know itll never stop vilolence. I'd just hope it'll help the ignorant people from hurting themselves. I do a lot of work outside the U.S. and most of the "bad" places never have theft and such. Know why? Because eveyone's packing. Same reason why violence isnt as bad in the country. Yea the guy in the city might have a gun, but you can be be damn certain the redneck definantly has one.

    Welcome to the IHoP

I agree. Just because I don't see the need doesn't mean I want the government to control it. I got my hunter safety card on 09/09/95 (yes I still keep it in my pocket) so I just turned 11 years old. I got my concealed weapons pemit on 8/19/2009. If an 11 year old can be legally competant to handle a gun I don't see it being too hard for an adult doing it. Just look around at how many knukle heads you see every day. Do you really want them walking into a walmart and buying a Mosberg just because they have no prior record. We live in a world of Jersey Shore and the Kardashians, unfortunately we have the average joe walking the streets to thank for that, the same knuckle heads that see a AK youtube video and run and buy one bc they think its cool.

    Welcome to the IHoP

I like guns a lot. and I shoot a lot. All of my guns together are worth more than my home and vehicles combined. I personally dont see the need for a magazine that large. Even when hunting most states have a maximum of around 5 rounds. And if you need a magazine that big there better be a lot of people after you or you just don't need the gun in the first place. The govnmt shouldn't make it illegal purely for the fact that all the people doing wrong are breaking the law anyway. If they want it bad enough they will get it. I do however believe that the government should mandate that in order to purchase a gun you must recieve a consealed weapons permit and/or have a hunter's saftey course. Either of which can be obtained over a weekend of training.

Are the new Wardens ever going to be here?!?!

I've been a dealer for IA for over three years and I don't remember there every being a preorder on any product. However I could be wrong. Their number is located on their site give them a call and leave a detailed message. Also send an email to: [email protected] He is the owner and normally responds to emails in a few days. However CES is next week and most of them will be out of the office.
