How do you get started? Don't want to compete. My BIL owns a Dairy/Beef farm and keeps offering to sell me a steer and only pay butchering, but I know what he'd be out. Said I wanted to buy a Wagyu feeder ~300lbs or so and have him raise it. Then I'd give him meat in payment. Don't want to take advantage of him and gift him something in return. I've looked all over and can't find where to buy one :(/> We buy sticks from a farm in the north west and artificially inseminate. They run about 50- 150 bucks a stick depending on the bull.

Well, might have answered my question. I guess looking at the Odyssey batteries the comparable 34/78 model is listed as being ~7" including the flange, looks like the Diehard is more or less a rebadged Odyssey.....so I'm going to guess it's just a typo on the Diehard page and go ahead and order it. it's like 6 3/4 at the flange and the side terminals stick out about an inch

Wagyu cattle must hang for a very long time before butchering. We raise Black Angus and Black Angus Wagyu mixed. Typical cattle are aged for 2 weeks. We age our Wagyu/Angus mixed for up to 8

Just did my taxes and guess what. Thanks to Obamacare I have to spend $16,000 on health insurance before I can write it off on my taxes. Isn't that nice.

sounds like Louisiana. rains for two weeks straight. 75 degrees yesterday, 38 degrees right now. Itll be in the 70's by the end of the week, and then another cool front will push through and back to the 30's

plug those parameters into WinIsd. It should automatically give you a sealed enclosure with a QTC of .7 if not adjust the enclosure volume until so. When building the box make sure you add the sub's displacement afterward. Do not include that into the enclosure when modeling. Like everything else there is no rule of thumb for enclosure stuffing. No one can tell you with out measuring the QTC. If you get a copy of Loudspeaker cookbook 7 it spells out the details for doing this.

Box size and tuning frequency

No it's not. Small's minimum port area formula is a good start. -

Ethos 12 and 15 pre order
Quentin Jarrell replied to Quentin Jarrell's topic in Direct Sound Solutions
Well, I spend all this time and money designing and verifying the least I can do is throw up a graph. The analyzer keeps track of both instant power and rms power over the whole test. The rms power which can be figured using the two lower lines (one for volts and one for amps) actually when calculated shows about 600 watts. However that figure is not accurate because it calculates RMS from the second the test started and you can see that from second one to second 200 not much power was applied. what you want to look at are the two top lines one for "instant" volts and amps. Being conservative you can see from second 300 to second 500 approximately 145 volts and 38 amps of current was applied. So the sub received approximately 5,510 watts for approximately 3 minutes before the sub reached a 100 kelvin increase in temperate, or the standard temp used when most coil glues fail. -
Ethos 12 and 15 pre order
Quentin Jarrell replied to Quentin Jarrell's topic in Direct Sound Solutions
The above was done with a 60mm long coil. The new coil is 10mm longer and the motor has a little bit extra cooling. I had the sample motor coned to a 18 in a 5 cubic foot box with proper port area (real proper port area) strapped to two IA 20.1's. I played it at normal listening levels for about 40 hours and I'd say 10-15 songs full tilt. The coil got a little stinky due to the fact it was new however I still have the cone and coil and it looks brand new. Once I get production in and Pat gets some free time I'm gonna have him put all the drivers in different alignments to get better real world rms ratings. At the moment I'd be confident in guestimating it at 1,700watts -
Ethos 12 and 15 pre order

Above is a voltage/Current graph from the large signal testing done on the 12" sample. Testing was done free air on a Klippel machine. The measure Re of the sub was 1.5 ohms (yellow) Urms = rms voltage applied (blue slashed) Upeak = peak voltake applied (gray) Irms = rms current (gray slashed) Ipeak = peak current The bottom is the time in seconds that the testing was done. Using ohm's law you can calculate the amount of power that was giving to the sub FREE AIR during the testing -

This is the final sample I have coming with the Ethos production order. It uses a 3 inch 100mm long 8 layer flat aluminum coil with an Re of 1.75 ohms. That gives this motor a BL of 34.8 and a motor force factor of ~692. To their knowledge this is the largest 3 inch coil that precission has ever made. the motor uses two 270mm OD x 25mm thick magnets and a 50mm thick top plate and bottom plate. -

spent a few hours looking into how I will be attaching fiberglass laminates to the cars body panel. I'll put up a few photos of the process when I tackle that. I did spend a few minutes finish cutting the wood for the box and did a little assembling. -
How's it compare to before?
