An update on what's going on with our subwoofers
Quentin Jarrell posted a topic in Direct Sound Solutions
We have been working on a middle line of drivers that will be called the Genisis series for a while now. The will come in 10, 12, and 15 inch sizes. These are xbl drivers and will be assembled in the US with US softparts aside form the spiders which are from an American company but are produced in Mexico with American textiles. All we are waiting on now are the spiders and final testing. We should have a preorder starting within the next month or so for around $175-$200 shipped. We also have a HIGH BL HIGH output line that is still in the design stage, which if it turn out in the real world as it does on paper will be called the Divine series. We all know the Adire Brahma was one of if not the best high output SQ drives of its time. If the Brahma Extreme was the Brahma's daddy the Divine will be its grand-daddy. They will be offered in a 12" and 15" version and a 18" version later on if need be. The following are a few projected specs. motor alone will weigh 96 pounds 44mm thich top plate 11" diameter magnet 2" thich (that's 1/8 inch smaller than the 12" driver cutout) BL 36.7 xmax @ 70% BL is around 32 mm one way. (BL at 70% is 25.6 which is what most high output drivers have at rest) 3.9 inch coil former with a coil OD of 4.4 inches motor reaward clearance of 56 mm but will be limited to 44mm frame clearance two copper shorting ring to keep induction down to 1.385 mH THIS WILL NOT BE A FART CANNON. IT WILL SOUND GREAT ON MUSIC. projected RMS rating, don't know yet but we will have videos up trying to break them. -
The layer of "wax" found on top of a laminate is not actually wax it's uncured resin. Oxygen inhibits the curing process so you get this goop on top. Peel Ply can be used to prevent this.

I agree an automatic pistol for a side arm trumps a revolver. However for personal protection (actually keeping it on your person) there are a few problems which I do not like. 1. I carry a concealed weapons permit. Legally I cannot have a chambered round in an automatic pistol. 2. Most every attack will be from behind or you will be snuck up on. Especially women. 3. Safety. Even if I had a chambered round in a semi automatic pistol I would most definantly keep it on safety when on my body. I can speak from personal experience that when I had that knife to my throat that I would not have been able to think correctly to take the gun off safety. And I have spent thousands of rounds and have killed hundreds of different animals in my day.

I wouldn't buy it... Little more money and you are in M&P territory.M&P, glock, and XDm are my top picks. And they are in the 500-600 category new. You get a great kit and the ability to either costomize or replace parts easily. This is for home defense right? If so buy the largest physical she and you can handle. Compacts are not your friend, full frame is. Personal defense, I keep it in my back pocket. And yes I have used it. A customer held a knife to my throat about 7 years ago and asked for my cash and wallet. He got the cash, a collapsed lung, amputated leg at the knee(35 at point blank will do that) and 30 years in prison. I keep a judge in all of my vehicles. My ole lady keeps a hammerless Taurus 38 in her purse. For the house I have several Mosberge 12 gauges with pistol grip stocks and "reworked" barrels. This besides about 150 or so shotguns, pistols, rifles, and black powder guns I keep in a safe.

I paid $250 for mine with a leather wallet.

Never messed with any of S&W stuff. Had problems with their shot guns and we never messed with any of their stuff after that. This is probably my favorite pistol. http://guns.dailycaller.com/m/l/179/American-Derringer-DA38-Double-Action

I use federal. It's just old. Hasn't been cleaned in ages. I use it to shoot rabbits around the house.

I've got a browning buckmark. It needs a good cleaning. The slide keeps catching bullets

(4) 12" Ported Enclosure

This will be enough for resonance. As far as road noise, I'm not really concerned with it. I just want to make sure I don't have any structural damage on the sheet metal from flexing. -

The body panels on these cars are pretty thin so I'm going to laminate fiberglass panels to the inside of the car. For the roof there will be a total of 5 layers of 6 ounce E glass and 4 layers of 1.5 ounce chopped mat with ribbed supports. This will be done in stages to prevent warping from heat. After taping off the top of the car I marked down the factory body seams with black marker. The marker will absorb into the resin and provide a trim line when I remove the finished laminate. I only do three layers at a time to keep heat down I needed a tad more resin to get complete wet out. I didn't roll on quite enough on the table but this is why I always wet my mat out upside down so that when I lay it right side up onto my "mold" I can add more to completely wet out any mat that's still dry. It's not perfect but I guess it's not bad for my first layup in 6 years -
