I like that the new mags are not going to weigh near as much as the current ones. my car thanks you nick.

what is the preferred power handling on the new mags??? (sorry if already stated) and is there a price point yet? I am anxious to try one out. May go for a pair of 12's and move my current 15" mag into the house for a HT sub.

my bad I thought you were talking about the upcoming mag. I couldn't agree with you more, this mag is wonderful. definitely one of the best woofers I have ever heard or used. leaps and bounds better than the mag before it too, which I liked it don't get me wrong. So I am very excited for the new mags.

is there a price point yet on the new mags??? a new BM would be a step back from my current mag? for home use? also how do you think the mag(current one) perform in home?

I am in the same boat! I am looking to either take my Mag out of my car and put it in my HT setup, or get a BM for my HT setup. So I too would like some more opinions on how a Mag and a BM would do for HT use. also, power wise how much each would need in home use.

yes, I regret throwing out the foam inserts as well. They were great!!! but no biggie, I am never going to get rid of this mag anyways..... well unless I upgrade to the new version.

that is what I like to hear. This will be my next step, as I have just purchased new center and front channel speakers. Now I REALLY need a good sub for the room. Now I am sure this has been asked before but what size ported enclosure does the BM like? and has a release date been set for the new ones?

wondering how and if the BM would be a good choice to put in a HT setup? I am going to build a sub for my HT soon and am looking for a good woofer. I LOVE my mag, absolutely LOVE IT! and am anxious to get one of the new ones most likely. But lets hear it, would the BM do the job right for HT?

whay type of mounting should I use to invert my Mag??? I am either going to just build a new box with the magnet facing the rear of the car or, going to build a box in the tire well with the magnet facing up toward the trunk lid. but my concern is how to mount it.

where is this show going to be at? I am real anxious to get my setup finished up and tweaked then take it out to one just for fun and see what I can do.

hello all, I am redoing my install and decided why the heck not try going ported while I am at it. Just not sure if I have enough room to. So what is the smallest suggested cuft for a Mag 15 ported? the new version that is. also, reccomended tuning as well. I am not going for all out spl. I am a huge sq guy that just wants to go ported and try it out. So I still wanna keep as much SQ as possible with a ported box. thanks in advance. and if there is anyone that is real good at doing box plans please let me know.

3 cubes at 28, now to find someone good at box plans. any ideas??

I haven't been on this forum in a while so just thought I would drop in. Can't wait to see the new BM series drivers come out. Also, I have been working on my install off and on lately, added new HO alt, Yellow Top, Big 3, etc.... and will be soon building a new home for my Mag 15 and amp rack. I am tempted to go ported but don't want to lose the sq that I love so much about the sealed mag. However, I am still being impressed more and more as I have had alot more time to play with my mag lately and this sucker still impresses the hell out of me and anyone that listens to it. Again great job SI!!!!! sure wish I could fit 2 15s.

haven't been on the forum in a while. Just saw the announcement of the first dealer. and see that there is a new line coming from SI. curious as to how they are coming and a price point. I appoligize if this is already well known.

congrats indeed. Middle TN sure could use a dealer that has a great product like SI's. All you see in all the shops are the typical brands as expected.

I don't know about you but I sure would have been nervous with bricks that close to my sub. the horror if one would have got knocked over on the cone..... but, yes good looking box so far. I need to build a new box and an amp rack in the floor of my trunk. if I only had time any time soon.

I would keep the claw and talk to Nick about gutting it and replacing it with the new motors, cone, etc..... Tirefryr did it and it is sweet looking. of course that could have been a one and only thing though, I do not know. Talk to Nick.

my exact thoughts.... so I take it you are hooked up with Maxxsonics now...

as long as you can get about 2.25-2.5 cuft after driver displacement you will have great performance out of it. Mine is in a 2.45 sealed (using the same box for my new one as my old one) and I love it. As I am sure you know you get more spl out of a ported enclosure but to really let the Mag shine on sq go sealed.
