I think I may have just found a PPI PC2350 (1400 watts)!!! this has always been one of my "dream" amps. I always wanted one when they were in the stores but could not afford one back then. sure hope I can work out a deal on it.
-
going without a Mag for a while would suck. I only have 600 watts running mine, but it does just fine with that. Hope to get me a PPI a1200 too.
-
you beat me out on one again!!! I had a bid in on that one for 380. Oh well, gotta be home when the auction ends to win it. that's ok, I got a bid on another one on there as well.

when will the 327s be available, or on the site? I am interested in checking them out. How much wil the run? and what size are they?

this makes me want to cry. I had an amp rack very similar to what you are trying to do, until this lady rear ended me at 40 mile an hour while I was sitting still and demolished it and my car. anyways... here is how mine was done. I had three 12w3s at an angle in the against the back of the trunk, then on the floor of the trunk I had my amp rack. It was made all out of MDF. I held three PPI PC amps had neon lights inside it (hidden, you could only see the glow) and fans, with plexi glass covering all the amps. and there was only about an inch or so between the amps and plexi. On each far end of the rack (left and right sides) there were what I think they are called, push/pull fans. and they had vents on top of them to where if you looked down at the rack you saw the plexi glass then on each far side of it was a narrow metal vent. the fans circulated air across my amps and out the vents into the rest of the trunk. My amps never got the least bit warm. These fans were long and narrow type. This is kinda hard to describe in words but I will try and find an old pic to post what I am talking about. hope that helps. I would not put the fans under the amp, I would have the air flowing across the amp.

mine is in 2 cuft sealed, is that to small??? 15 that is.

assuming that the total power would be the same, most likely the same amp in each sinario. I would say the 2 12s would be louder simply do to cone volume, 24 inches total as oppose to 15.

here is an a404 but it is white. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...3094956651&rd=1 what is your ebay name??

damn, I forgot about that auction, I was watching it all day and was going to bid on it at the last minute but then forgot about it. You got a great deal on a SWEET amp! I too am looking for an a1200 or a PC2350. That amp can be used very nicely for either midbass or subs. good buy.
-
yeah it is in NC, can't remember where off the top of my head, Greensboro or Winsten Salem maybe??
-
I don't think these 8s he is speaking of is going to be sub oriented. I could be wrong, but I think they are going to be more mid bass oriented. atleast that is how I read it. we will see. I too have read how impressive RE 8s are, you didn't like? what was laking that you didn't like about them?

yes, I too need to know about this fiberglassing of the walls. I am picking my car up later today from having my EQ installed and tuned (I never have been good at tuning it) then I am going to be adding poly fill and possibly this fiberglass you speak of. I dynamated the doors and trunk lid yesterday and wow did it do wonders.
-
ohhhh yeah!! snap into a 8" SI driver! ok that was real corny, but I am excited about these drivers. Hope all goes well and they get in the making. Especially for around that price.

there are quite a few boring ass stretches along your way.

I haven't had much to compare mine to, except my previous setup of 3 12w3s. Which I am very happy with my Mag, that is why it is in my car and my 3 12s are just sittin in my room. Anyways I was at work one night and this guy has an eclipse with 2 Kicker 15s, not sure what model, and 1000 watts running them. He asked me what I had and I showed him and gave a brief background on SI. Then he just had to ask, "let's see what it sounds like" after listening to his for a minute we got in my car and I put in some Outkast for him. He was blown away at how my 1 15 with 600 watts sounds better and is louder than his 2 with 1000 watts. It was clearly louder and very much cleaner sounding than the two kickers. So that was the first time I really had anything compare mine to and was plesantly pleased. Now I just need to find some more people to compare mine to. And I need to find me a PPI PC2350 and really power this sucker.

I would need two as well. Can't wait to see some specs on them, and a price.
-
I too need Midbass!! so I am keeping my fingers crossed on the idea of a SI 8" driver. Other than that, how do the 307's sound as far as the midbass? strong, average? I know the SQ of the components will be extremely good just wondering about the midbass as well.

please help my magnums sound really bad

I would say your problem lies somewhere either in your amp or your wiring. I would inspect the sub to make sure there is no damage to them. And if you saw sparks then that is a good indication that there is something wrong. Did the sparks just appear by themself? you didn't touch any screw driver or anything in the wrong spot did you? I am not to sure what else it could be that would cause all the distortion unless your headunit is sending a horrible signal to THE amp. -
mark me down as interested as hell. Especially if it will be great for a mid bass driver. I am in the same boat as herold I have 600 watts to my Mag 15 and 5.25 components and have been hunting a midbass driver for a week or so. I am holding off on the hunt till I hear if these are going to happen.
-
how much power are you feeding your magnum?
cjj2d replied to tryatt's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
right now I am just feeding my Mag 15 600 watts off of my PPI PC2150, but I am on a mad hunt for a PPI PC 2350 to push 1400 to that sucker. I read that alot of people push 1000 to a Mag 12 no prob. -
I have been extremely busy lately, but have been exstatic to see/hear that we have pre orders available for more Mag 15s!! Will have to get mine in soon.
-
WooooHoooo, This is what I like to hear.

cjj2d replied to allConfused's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Must be a long while since you didn't even put any sort of time table on it. That sucks, I reallly want a second Mag. Oh well, I sure the hell am enjoying the one I have for now!! -
Once you go Mag you never go back.
