my q,s both came last week with black baskets. don't know if that helps. both dual 1 ohm -
why don't you just play a test tone and adjust ssf and lpf accordingly

I redid the box and fixed the port. Does this look correct now?
-
also originally I was going to do a basic L port design but I was told I would have unloading issues and would need more bracing.
-
That makes sense. im looking to start this build this weekend. so basically I need to add approx. 2.5" to the l port on each chamber?
-
Ok I'm confused as far as the port length goes. I calculated it by adding the measurements of the middle of the port counting both L ports and including the middle bracing in the measurement.

Hello, This is my first time building a box. I would like to hear any thoughts you might have before I get to building. I just recently purchased 2x FI Q 12's dual 1's with cooling, and spider. I designed a box for a 2002 gmc envoy. These subs will be pushed by a Crescendo BC2000D. (May eventually upgrade to a 3500 or 2x 2000's). Box is 5.0 cu ft and is tuned around 32hz. Heres what I came up with. My main concern is if I did the port length correctly and if I calculated the bracing displacement correctly.

Yes its naturally aspirated. Sorry thought it was some sort of electronic lingo.

Please explain what you mean by NA? For the front stage I am just giving a rough estimate, I haven't looked that far yet for the build. As far as upping the size for the 15's go, are you talking about maybe to 8ft3 as stated in ssa's box specs as "optimal ported", or even larger than that?

I'm looking to get a nice build going for my '02 GMC Envoy. I just replace the junk factory radio today with a Pioneer AVH-P8400BH and also decided to pick up a ND-BC5 back up camera. Now its time to get the sub-stage rolling. Currently my truck runs on a stock 150amp alt which will need a upgrade. So I am limited to a single h/o alt for this build due to no room under the hood. I'm leaning towards a dc 270amp alt. With this alt and a power cell or 2 will I have trouble keeping up the demand of a Crecendo BC3500 with possibly 500-1k watts to spare for my front stage? I want to pick up a pair of SSA XCONS for this amp but I'm having trouble on deciding to go with 2-12's or 2-15's. I know the more cone area the better. The fact is I don't want the box to take up my hole trunk. Current dimensions I'm dealing with is 18h x 45w x 22d. Thats keeping it below the window but covers the whole cargo area (rear seats to rear hatch, wheel well to wheel well). Approx 10.5ft3. I want subs to fire up, port back. I was thinking more of a 7.5ft3 net box tuned around 32hz for 2-15 XCONS, that sound about right? I listen to allot of Dubstep, Hip hop, and on occasion rock. Also will the Crescendo BC3500 be a good match for these 2-15's?
