Well i have recently sold off everything out of my daily driver to fund a new build in a different car. I also am working on a budget install in my daily driver to replace everything that has been removed and sold off. Im looking for a pair of clean sounding 6.5" componets w/ some nice out put for under 200 bucks shipped. Power will be coming from a 100.2 passive until the 50.4 comes out then they will be active. Thanks Corey

Is the Lanzar Opti 4000D and 6000D any good
SundownAudioNY replied to TribeamConnek's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
The opti amps are nice for the money. The opti4000d shares the same boared as few other amps, suchs as Soundstream xxx6500 and Ground Zero GZPA 1.6000D. My friend is currently running a opti2000d @ .5 ohms daily to a pair of cvx 10's and its holding up nicly. Does rated power also. -

Jim, Very true... forgot all about horns! He could run the SD-1 10s for midbass to 100 Hz and run the PHL 8" up to meet the horns. I have a pair of ID CD1E Mini Body's, how do you think they would work? Very well... those things are mean and would be able to keep up with those PHL midranges. That would be an awesome match... talk about a loud front stage Cool How does a the sd-1 10's wired down to 4 ohms per channel on a 100.2 and the phl mids and id horns running off an 100.4? This should be a fun build.Corey Corey, My vote goes to MORE POWER... three 100.4s bridged I like your thinking sir Im sure we can do that. Well looks like i got everything lined up now. Ill make sure i start a work log here shortly Corey

Do you have the underdash room for them ? Yes i got room to mount them under the dash, there is good amount of space there that would be perfect for them. Corey

Corey, Lets try a four way setup, shall we? Why not a 12" SD-1 per door for midbass? They throw down IB with the moderately high Qts and low Fs... cross them over at 60 Hz and they will have ridiculous amounts of output. We would run these up to 100 Hz. Two per door if you can fit them... even two of the 10s if that is more practical... seriously! There is no beating a LARGE midbass driver for realism. --- PHL for midrange... try their 8" model from 100 - 2500 Hz. These are some of the best high efficiency lower-midrange drivers available: http://estore.websitepros.com/1736754/Detail.bok?no=50 You won't need more than one per side... due to the efficiency the rest of the system will be playing keep up. --- Then... how about a pair of Dayton 2" Aluminum dome midranges per side from 2500 - 5000 Hz. These have been compared to the best of the best midrange drivers on the market: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=285-020 --- And... the DLS Iridium tweeter is my favorite of all time... keep that, please You may need a pair per side to "keep up" with the other components. --- Don't buy any batteries or alternators yet... wait until I make some calls. Jacob - After doing a little messure of some door pannels i dont think i can fit a pair of 12's along w/ the all the other drivers. I could easly fit one 12 or two 10's. Witch do you think would work out better? Thanks Corey

I like it Guess im going to have to order me some SD-1's b4 stock runs out. Going to have to messure it out and see what size i can fit. Thanks for the help, and looks like im going to be swapping kinetik's out for pm. Corey

///M5 - Yea i planned on glassing my door pannels, so the custom work inst going to bother me.
-
///M5 - Well for locations to mount drivers your looking at, dash, a-pillars, and doors. Budget is around 800 or so, but im a flexable. Also power would be comming from 100.2 and 100.4's. Corey

Sence i cant get the quote reply to work on this forum for some reason Jacob - Thats a good idea, like i said not realy sure what to do. Just got talking w/ rich last night and thats what we came up with. Also i would prefer to run power master d3100's but i can get a slight discount on the hc2400's localy so i probally will go w/ them just due to the price. I would love to run pm bats and alts. What would you suggest for a crazy loud (but clean sounding) mids and highs set-up? What ever amps (100.2 or 100.4's) Corey
