Please note- Just because you have a dvd player in your car, that doesn't mean it supports DVD-MP3! To burn mp3s on dvd disc, you simply burn as data ISO. There is no such thing is dvd-mp3 format... It's simply data format, ISO. If it doesn't work, either it doesn't support it, or the media is unsupported... Burn a copy of a dvd on that media and see if it plays. If it does, then it's not the media! DVD players, when it sees dvd disc, will immediately assume it's a move and looks for the VIDEO_TS folder. If the HU doesn't support DVD-MP3s, then when the folder is missing(obviously it would be) then it fails to read disc... IF you find out it's not your media, go online and try and see if anyone has been able to get DVD-MP3 discs to work on this HU. "MAYBE" there is a way to flash the firmware inside which could support it... But you'd have to do research on that to find out.

front battery voltage no matching to battery bank
shizzzon replied to knockinthastreetzof608's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
no no no.. I'm trying to help you sync your voltage up from front to back as you have stated is not in sync. When you have a load, you will have higher voltage(then will be compensated at the same time and drop due to current demand) Your vehicle isn't "stupid", you are just wanting a higher voltage when there is no high load and it's not necessary all the time... HOWEVER, this could lead to not keeping the batts maintained... And since you have stated just 2 D3100s drop below 12v, i believe it's already happening! So, you need something to force the vehicle to charge higher. You need to be charging between 14.4-14.9v in the back! So, you will need these cable runs REGARDLESS! Then, contact DC Power or Mechman for a voltage increase solution. -
front battery voltage no matching to battery bank

13.8 is typical for economy use. Voltage being higher after load, sounds like computer controlled regulator. From what i understand, there is no way around it in terms of keeping voltage high all the time even when there is no load. -

Here is another video showing SPL-Lab software capabilities currently in more detail. (Yes, there is 30sec averaging built into the software but I didn't want to record 30sec straight to show it) REMEMBER! Group Buy ENDS OCT 10th, 2011. Please do not forget! -
front battery voltage no matching to battery bank
shizzzon replied to knockinthastreetzof608's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
if u currently drop below 12v with 2 d3100s, then you are about to kill them... They need to be charged separately. -
front battery voltage no matching to battery bank
shizzzon replied to knockinthastreetzof608's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
just add that one run of ground right now and see how that goes. You don't need imo 4 d3100s for 7kw, 2 is plenty. -

shizzzon replied to knockinthastreetzof608's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
all you need is ONE run and that's it. The ground we all use "works" already, it just needs a helper to keep the voltage up, that's what the cable is for. If you have a long run of wire already or a set of jumper cables, u can temporarily connect it to the alt and battery bank and see for yourself. -

shizzzon replied to knockinthastreetzof608's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
this is no question about it man.. It's the ground, trust me. Think about it.. IF you had a bank of batteries in the back and you wanted to make a buss bar for them, what material would you choose- Copper Aluminum or... Steel... Sure as hell wouldn't choose steel.. But that's what you and everyone else is using for conductive grounds in their vehicles. -
front battery voltage no matching to battery bank
shizzzon replied to knockinthastreetzof608's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
this is why it's almost necessary to run a ground cable from the alt's casing or from the ground of the batt up front to the rear ground post on battery bank. IF you run from batt to batt, the alt needs to be grounded directly to starting battery for best effectiveness. -
HU usb port just stopped working.
shizzzon replied to srd150's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
find and reset the headunit. If that doesn't work, go back into settings after you reset it and make sure the USB output is turned on still after the reset. Otherwise.. try and get it warrantied. -
the mid 140s is when you start feeling it putting decent pressure on your ears.. then the higher you go, it starts to focus on your head and your breathing, hehe.
-
lol, why does everybody say that? My amps aren't even turned up all the way....
-
if he could even break a 150, he would have let you get in it and feel the pressure...

The Official SPL-Labs SPL Meter Group Buy Thread

Here is a video of the software in use. This is showing VERY basic usage of the software. Realtime, Peak Hold and 30sec averaging. -
lol, you remind me of... ME... Before DC Power came out with the XP line, i was talking to them about this very device, the Quicktifier i think is what it's called. They told me then don't worry about it because the XP line will already have dual rectifiers and stronger ones than what that thing has. I'm tellin ya.. XP XP XP..
-
From what DC Power has told me before- We GUARANTEE that you will NOT be able to burn up an XP line alternator... They already have dual rectifiers built in, along with awesome cooling... And let's not forget temperature sensor... If the alt gets too hot, it is designed to cut maximum current output back by up to 50%. They are pretty indestructible... This is why, in my opinion, they are so popular.
