Which Fi sub for Home Theater??

please do not have ceiling fans or 2x4s exposed in the same room for this setup.. I will have a mental breakdown.
  2. But... yours ends with a period too.. lol oh yea.. oops.
  3. You got a grammar error! Your interests is ended with a period when it should not be making it a fragment.
  4. did u ever run the rcas the way i said? Curious as to if it helped any or not so we can progress to other options.

Win my gear contest nobody else in the world can do this

I'm curious as to how this competition is suppose to be compared? 1- where is mic placement in the room? 2- what frequency are we comparing to? And most importantly- 3- what mic are YOU using? If you are metering your pressure level below 20hz, what mic are you using because 99% of all mics out there are NOT calibrated to accurately read pressure below 20hz... I know some that can... But i know you do not have those... So from where i'm viewing, your test equipment is giving inaccurate readings so this comparison is flawed if comparing below 20hz.
  6. Well, it SHOULD be wired that way regardless.... If it will solve your problem, we'll see. This is why- Stereo output section #1- Chan 1= Left Chan 2= Right Stereo output section #2- Chan 3= Left Chan 4= Right Left out on bass amp needs to go to both LEFTS on 4chan amp which is Chan 1,3 Right out on bass amp needs to go to both RIGHTS on 4chan amp which is Chan 2,4 Running Left out on chan 1,2 and Right out on chan 3,4 would be like running only 2 rcas to the 4chan amp instead of 4.... Of course u are still y-splitting the signal by wiring it the way i said, but at least the Left will be left and the Right will be right instead of left being the whole output side of Section 1 and right being the whole output side of Section 2. That would be like running 2 Channel Mono on a 4 channel amp.
  7. Ah... maybe u might not have it wired right. so u have a left out, right out You need chan 1, 2, 3, 4 in so u need y splitters. Do the following- Y split Left out Y Split Right out Pay REAL CLOSE attention here- On 4 channel amp- Chan 1 and 3 are connected with LEFT OUT from bass amp. Chan 2 and 4 are connected with RIGHT OUT from bass amp do not wire them any other way or you WILL cut the signal in HALF which is what it sounds like you have done. You know.. i might be wrong about what i just said... Find out for me.. wire it the way i said and see if it works a lot better... If not, at least i'll know

    08 scion xb^2 B2 products galore.

Like to comment on Pioneer.. I have a Scion tC and they have stock Pioneer speakers in them... So, just how capable are the stock Pioneers... I was able to run my Pioneers, rated at 20w per driver on a sundown 100.4 PER channel for about 6 months without failure. They were extremely loud.. a little peaky at times.. I had then switched to some IDs and i lost a little bit of the peakiness but replaced with more subtle sounding front stage while getting decently loud for what bass install i had.

    wtf? dc power

You ain't lyin! Me and you both have had rounds with Matt before..
  10. The reason I mentioned Y Splitters is because it's VERY possible one of the channels may not be connected, working or damaged... you said you went from vol 28 to 45.. That's like almost a doubling of volume which would indicate to me.. a loss of half the RCA signal.
  11. are you using a Y splitter on any of your RCAs? Is the gain in the same position as it was when you first installed it? Also check crossover points and make sure they didn't move either. Have you recently disconnected your battery since this problem? If you have, radio did a reset. What things effect the level? This is dependent on headunit capabilities and features- Source input level Bass Treble Loudness EQ

    I need a box Builder

there are MANY box builders on this site.. go down into the vendor section and ask one of them. You gotta at least categorize your posts.
  15. oh i know, hehe, just showin what all i planned on doing.. I'm building a wall and the battery bank will be right behind it. I'm thinking about either mounting it on top of the wall(it angles down with the hatch), or attach it to the back part of the wall.
  16. I will be using something like this i drew out for my scion tC- Does this spark some interest?

    birch box

birch is liter? Is MDF ounces? Birch is more rigid than MDF therefore Birch may have a little ring to it at some frequencies... meaning it may resonate just a hair. I do not think you will hear it though. What some people do in HT is double layer their sub box, outer shell birch, inner shell MDF to retain the density.
