me personally never use bolts because it adds resistance... But because you are.. did u glue or threadlock the nuts inside the box? Locknuts are not strong enough(at least in my builds) to hold on inside enclosure by itself. Possible u just barely have a connection in there.

if both come back fine, put a cd in and play forever until u think the cd playback is fine. Sometimes, my ipod would crash on certain formatted songs or in ur case, it may be glitching based on how the mp3 is formatted... Or possibly the link cable (i hope not) is damaged. Just some more possibilities.

also other things that can cause it- IS your cd skipping? Does your headunit have Bluetooth enabled? Is your REMOTE LINE connected good at amp and at headunit?

sounds like rca issue. If this happens extremely frequent, then connect a phone or mp3 player directly into amp and play and see if it does it with that device. If it never does, then either your rca cables, rca input stage on amp or headunit preouts are damaged.

If you are going to purchase your own hard drives, MAKE SURE you have the proper interface adapter, IF necessary. I know on the older laptops, the IDE based hard drives required you hang onto the factory adapter when swapping hard drives. Otherwise, you will never get them to work, lol. Newer laptops that use SATA, this shouldn't be a problem.

get a laptop with either Core i3 or i5, be good! pull ALL batts out.. If you got more than one, then when you pull them out, let them rest for a good couple hrs. Then measure voltage of each battery independently. Let us know the resting voltage.

I do not know your entire electrical setup or else i could go more in depth accurately.. For one, you say you have dual alts. Ground each one of these to the frame as short as possible. Next, run 1 power cable from one of the alts to starting batt.. Next, run at least 1 power cable off of each alt to rear. Ground battery bank in the back properly.. there are several ways based on wiring configuration. Next, run 1 and only 1 ground cable from the rear battery bank directly to each alt case OR the ground point where each alt is grounded too. If you do not do that last step, once a load has been put on the electrical system from car audio(substantial load), your up front voltage vs rear voltage will always differ. In every vehicle i have tested this including mine, rear voltage, i've seen has been as high as 0.9v lower than front, lowest i've seen is 0.3v! That's still a lot! When you first start car or driving, the voltages are equal typically. But once a substantial load has been put on it, then you see the real world voltage drop in the rear that will always be there.. So, if you do not wish to run this ground cable.. then go out and test your front to rear voltage after you have put a good ~20-30sec load on the setup. Measure at alt's power stud then at amp's power terminals and report back.

u need adapters for the front. For the rear, i used 6.5s without adapters and worked fine.

typically, increase in size of the same product line is generally only going to add 2-3lbs.

If u had 2 2000w amps rated at 1ohm per amp... then it would be a total of 4000w @2ohm when strapped. That means, the final wiring that leaves 1 positive and 1 negative wire remaining, must be a 2ohm load (typical DCR of 1.2-1.9ohm)

do NOT use copper bolts.. copper bolts are probably very fragile and a good torque could break it. The bolt itself when used (not in testing) should just be used to hold down your terminals. I'm not saying go use the worst conductive bolt ever but Stainless is suppose to be the standard.

the smoke was coming from the bolts because the bolts on the batts are not conductive enough for the amp load so it's building resistance up which increases heat.

was that your clamps smoking?
