SSA Sub(s) having issue on lower notes, poor kay?
shizzzon replied to Sencheezy's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
the instructions were to use a 30hz test tone so if the bottom end is lost on a 30hz tone... then the enclosure is FAR too large. -
SSA Sub(s) having issue on lower notes, poor kay?
shizzzon replied to Sencheezy's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
SKERT......... Take a break people! I just called Sencheezy with some tips on evaluating his install and will be testing these shortly. In the meantime, let's just wait until the tests are done so we can move on andor conclude the results of this thread. It is my belief that the box being used is too large for the setting that the subsonic filter is currently set at. It appears it is set at a general rule of thumb setting which cannot be used for such a large enclosure. So.. Sencheezy will be fine tuning the subsonic filter shortly per my instructions and will report back shortly with results. hopefully, this wil be resolved shortly. This is no way, i believe, is a result of ANY company's product! It just sounds like setting error. -

u goin to Slizzamology? Hmm.. i might have to get there a day early so i can prepare to say hey to everyone. -
In my opinion, I think USA vs everyone else is purely an opinionated debate. Also, it's not about who is better, but just pure politics. And whenever politics is brought up, nobody as a group will always agree on the same thing.

I do not know pricing for all but all of those choices are capable of destroying your escape if box is built right. Best output comes from the box, not the subwoofer.

how much power u plan on using?

if you keep it square, double top, both sides and the front, you have under 8cuft GROSS. So right off the bat, no 2 15s if keeping it square. Using the slant, you would still have under 9cuft GROSS. I do not like this. That would estimate the NET volume to be somewhere around ~6.5-7.2cuft. Why not just one devastating 18?

Aluminium Buss Bars
shizzzon replied to Julian's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I use Grade 6061 also. Grade 1100 is the best conductor as far as i know but for the price, 6061 is by far the better choice. Aluminum can be purchased and used as is without fear of it oxidizing on you anytime soon. Non treated copper can oxidize in just a week so you would need to spray or apply a product to resist oxidation and assume you applied it perfectly. Also, if you want to know how large of a buss bar you will need, i can help with that. A 1" thick x 2" wide bar can handle current continuous up to ~1,500A. This rating, if i remember right, allows the aluminum to reach 140F at this rating. -
Need help desperatly concerning electrical gremlins on Alpine 4 channe
shizzzon replied to KungFuPimp's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
your alt size is small.. What is required fuse for kicker and alpine amp? Sounds like low voltage is shutting off the alpine amp. Also, sounds like u need a battery in the back because relying on the frame of the car as a ground has a pretty good voltage drop from front to rear as what you are experiencing. -
In the end, about that. We do charge for shipping so this is what would happen- we take 20% of $409 = $82 + $10 shipping = $92 If contract is not void, then the customer would receive $317 back.

Leasing information from SPL-Lab USA. I will go over the basics of how this works and what to expect. You will receive a contract after making payment that needs to be signed and faxed or emailed back to us. So, this is how it works- Customer wants to lease a meter... Let's say USB Meter. USB Meter costs $409. Customer needs to email me- [email protected] for leasing inquiry. Customer will pay us $409 for this meter after informing us of leasing request. If it were any other meter, customer pays us the normal price for that meter. Once paid, we will send a contract out and instructions. The contract needs to be signed and faxed or emailed back to us. If customer does not agree to contract then we will refund money 100% What to expect in contract? When the contract is received, your leasing period has started. You will generally have around 40days from the day you receive the contract to send it back to us, ship meter to you, use it and send it back to us in specified time. If contract is not void, customer will typically around 75% of their payment refunded back. If sent late, more money is withheld... If over 60 days late from day customer received meter, there will be NO refund. It is assumed customer owns meter at that time. ***Any failure of device or missing items when returned will be replenished from customer's payment and remaining funds, if any, would then be refunded back to customer. This is a very simple process. We allow the following meters to be leased- USB Meter USB Pro Meter LCD Meter Bluetooth Wireless Meter USB Noise Meter When these meters are returned back to us, they are immediately set aside (after being thoroughly tested) as "used." Used meters are purchased directly through us and ALSO are used as leasing meters as well! So some customers may receive brand new or used lease meters but functionality will always be 100%. A used meter is sold around $40 cheaper than normal price. When we have a Used meter, it will be posted in our forum section. What if the meter is damaged upon receiving it? We allow enough time to inspect and return it without it effecting your contract period. A new contract would need to be signed or a full refund would be issued. One more thing to note- We do not always have meters in stock for leasing. We reserve only a couple of meters out of our stock for leasing. When they are currently be leased, leasing for that particular meter will resume once one is returned. ***- we will not hold funds if the meter is damaged and is determined it was not done neglectfully or for the purpose of voiding warranty. Any more questions, just ask. Leasing begins tomorrow...

Yea, this isn't our first time doing this. It's just been super busy the last several months so we stopped leasing altogether because we started to get bombarded with Leagues requesting info about us being their official meter and retail stores around the country and in South America.. So we had to make sure we had the most inventory on hand. Now, we are all caught up and ready to start it again, hehe. In the past, we had never had a problem with timeframes with people. Actually, most customers would send theirs back either super early or inform us they would be keeping it longer or forever.. The majority of our past leasers kept their meter as in the long run, most who have messed with one will typically own one eventually.

the USB Noise Meter is not as accurate as the rest of our meters. It also cannot be calibrated to read over 140. It is an RTA from 20-20khz. I will hopefully be making a video of it's comparison between itself and the RTA Pro to show users the difference in the meters. The meter is helpful for those who do not need absolute amplitude accuracy for tuning their sound stage so it has it's own application and user base. -
Actually, we get packages to customer VERY QUICK. We are located in KY and can typically get packages to California in just 2 days and packages to Hawaii in 3-4 days. We use this service for quick shipping times so it doesn't effect transit times typically seen by UPS or Fedex. I do understand it would make more sense to start when it's received but this also gives the customer a much more "loose lease period" than strictly being locked into a 30day lease. It's less of a hassle to monitor every shipment that leaves our hands if done this way. It's in no way degrading to the customer. If I felt there would be a time issue based on location, period would be adjusted to compensate. I want everyone to have a fair period of use if they opt to lease a product from us and do not want to impose a quick rush and test use. We might even push it back to 45days..
-
You can say roughly 30days. When i email the contract to a customer, the return time is typically around 40days to get it back to us. So.. that would allow 1-4days shipping to customer and back to us(2-8days round trip), and to sign contract and send it back to us(0-2days typical) then the use time... So worst case scenario- 30days of use. Best case scenario- roughly 38 days of use.. Although i wouldn't wait down to the last second before shipping it back either and the contract time varies but we try to keep it around 40days from the day contract is sent out.

shizzzon replied to shizzzon's topic in SPL-Lab USA
All of our meters use the same software now. The USB and Wireless meter would be within 0.1db of each other or closer.. There is no difference in accuracy between the two as they are rated the same. The same meaning accuracy.. Floor noise, USB Meter idles typically around 90-100db. Wireless idles typically around 110-122db. And.. we will be starting our leasing program tomorrow so either tonight or tomorrow the thread will be created. -
And he will never live this down... His loudest install ever.. Something i will never forget.

inputs? There should be at least one output in that section.. that alone is NOT GOOD! Unplug it and wait for response. -

I am in the same boat as Chris is above and want to see if i am thinking this properly. I had ugraded to Hawk pads before and they did help a bit but now, my brakes are complete crap right now... My rotors are 5.5yrs old and are warped now due to me traveling from state to state in the snowice.. lots of braking with ice cold temps... Anyways, I had already planned on getting slotted rotors(never drilled, daily car). Now, upon doin research vs what is being talked about in here has got me thinking... With adding a LOT of extra weight in a vehicle.. The pads alone helped when i had ~550lbs extra. I will now have 900lbs extra. So, since i need to replace my rotors anyway.. should i get stock diameter slotted or larger slotted rotors? I have been told by a friend of mine that increasing my caliper from it's stock single piston to a quad piston, even on stock size rotor will see a big difference. I have also been told by him too that stainless steel brake lines are "marketing gimmick" and not needed for better brake pressure for daily driving... So, assuming his advice is right.. I would be looking at stock diameter, but slotted rotors, quad piston caliper and same brake pads (Hawk's pads)? Does this sound good or should i opt for larger rotor as well?
