  1. And then of course can't forget by 200 4/0 ring terminals.
  2. If you think that's cheap..... Wha ha ha ha ha ha... How about 3/0 for $1/ft? Nah, hehe, just kidding.. But seriously, this is happening right now- Talking with Lowes, this is some interesting information to keep in mind- Lowes in my area actually stocks 3/0 cable. Their local price is $3.80 per foot (cheaper than Kolossus, local and stronger). The 500FT spool is $1615. This will save you a couple hundred dollars if you want to go crazy. This info is good because if you need cable immediately, your local Lowes may be able to help you! And the other thing- I am looking into making my own Kcmil cable. What is Kcmil cable? Kcmil cable is cable that is larger than 4/0. It's the actual name of the cable based on the size of the cable. So.. Kcmil cable is BIG! and there are many sizes.. Doing some calculations, the largest Kcmil cable is so large, it's unrealistic even in the most xtreme car audio install.. 2000 Kcmil cable, at 18" long can handle 6,250A of current at only 0.1v drop. But Kcmil cable is VERY $$$ for 2 reasons. 1- Kcmil must usually be bought in spools of 1000ft. 2- Kcmil is rarely used for mass market use therefore no demand = high pricing.. Kcmil can typically go for $10-60/ft So, i will be experimenting with making my own and can making it in any length obviously. One point i'd like to address about the cable i'll be doing testing with- Kcmil is VERY stiff.. not used for flexibility as much. Potential use in Car Audio- Used to replace front to rear wire run ONLY in straight shot sections where bending is done at the most extreme minimal. Used to replace buss-bars in an area where buss-bars were incapable of working for whatever reason. Basically, do not assume zig zag patterns with Kcmil cable. I will have to make my own terminals for them so give me some time to do testing.
  3. Ok.. now we are trailing way off here, hehe. And I'm not even going to comment on that.. I haven't owned either vehicle mentioned as i've never been into racing all that much..

SPL Lab came in the mail, video with some numbers!

Cool! I like your baffle! Cosmetic creativity.
  5. I know it sounds silly but i did it because when someone posts they found 4/0 for less than 2/0... people are going to start speculating as to it's performance... Now, there are no physical tests done here, BUT, equivalent AWG comparisons are shown here to give the members here some spoon-fed info without calculating it themselves. This 4/0 is less flexible but not stiff as a rock... Even for $1 less and more powerful, it's necessary to show others how much better 4/0 is over 2/0. And, FYI, i was sitting here bending this 4/0 around. The smallest ID circle i could make with this 4/0 is 4" wide. Doing the same with Knu's CCA, ID circle was 2.25" wide. Kolossus is the most flexible but in applications where you need not zig zag every few inches, 4/0 is a great option..
  6. Oh, well now i see what you are saying... We would assume that 4/0 is better than 2/0 yes.. but for it to be cheaper is what makes you wonder.. Here is the link to the wire- 4/0 Cable
  7. it's as apples to apples as i can get it as the wire size for Knu is pulled from their spec sheet which is compared to the AWG standard. Kolossus is 2/0 and CCA is 0.23 AWG.

    cresendo audio Ft1-se

The supertweeter would drown out the "regular tweeter" 100%. that's why we do not recommend using rear speakers in a proper setup as the "front stage", as it's called, typically drowns out the rear speakers and has bad acoustical effects if leaving rear speakers powered.

Sneak Peak at the new GCON (Pics p5)

is this sub suppose to be better than the Zcon ???? It is WAY better than the Zcon in the sense that it's cheaper. Assuming that is what you are talking about.. Otherwise, i'd suggest you read and read and read back over what you personally quoted as the potential answer lies within.

    what you guys think?

Wow, u got those amps still? the A7Hcs? classics... On another note.. i've never heard anything good about CDT comps so do some good homework on your research.

Guess what starts in 28hrs 10min?
  14. you'll never have a solid 14.4v system even with 50 D3100s.. The best you can do with battery power is 13.6-13.8v. If you want better, you will need battery and upgraded alternator. Although, this isn't critical, it's not important to be at or over 14v either at all times.
  15. well, it came back on.. sounds like your battery wasis REAL REAL REAL LOW when it discharged when u lost your alt! I'd be charging that batt back up soon before you use it again.
  16. regardless of what it said, u cant have your stuff shut off at 12.1v, that's not low enough.
  17. The voltage will drop instantly yes.. but his audio equipment should not have turned off, especially if it were at 12.1v. Sounds like the battery was undercharged because it was either low, or not enough batts in the vehicle for the setup. Anyways, the voltmeter had to be lying about realtime voltage because your amp can handle voltages well below 12.1v and the short burst current from a battery will last longer than a split second to power that amp fine... To me, sounds like you already had damaged part of the bridge rectifier and it was on it's last set of diodes (prob about 50A worth) and when you cranked a 3500w amp on a ~50A rectifier, lol, and i'm sure the rectifier is hella-hot from stressfully working all the time.. POOF
  18. then my idea is wrong.... disconnect rcas and run another source to your amp such as ipod, etc and see what it sounds like
  19. unhook ALL speaker wire and connect only ONE of the 2 12s and see what it sounds like.. Doing this, I feel may magically make it sound lots better! Let me know if it does.

    Toothbrush

You think you are being contaminated this way?
  21. NO!!!!!! Whatever you do.. do NOT start from scratch or we'll be right back where we were! The scratch is GONE! For the love of God.. if you get a new enclosure, start from linear excursion!, never from scratch!
  22. someone who is peaking that low.. flex will always be greatest.
  23. It was a joke to imply what other forums do.. Since SSA stands out as being different.
  24. Yep, and read this for an interesting paradox- Sony, being one of 10 companies, owns the rights to the DVD licensing, etc.. So, if you want to build a device which incorporates DVD playback features, Sony will get a part of that profit... Microsoft is not one of these companies but they must pay Sony for this license so their Xbox360 can play DVDs. So, let's get this straight... Microsoft, in competition with Sony, PAYS Sony to have a feature put on their product that is in direct competition with Sony (PS3)... We could do this all day with different genres of products around the world. Point being- stop digging deep into how a particular company runs their business and then expose them for doing what they are suppose to be doing. At least they know how to maintain a website without losing it, or creating their own line of product that isn't 99.99999% direct comparison with certain competition in each and every single product created so far, or knowing that once you make a name for yourself, you don't change it whenever you need to to start fresh again, or just randomly purchase a bunch of product and never test it and sell it to the masses and go.. hope for the best(DT).. etc.. The only negative thing I can say about SSA is they have still left this thread open for information when other forums would have closed it.. temp banned the person stirring up a convo.. then allow others to start a new thread and just blast the banned person without moderation.
  25. The SSF setting on the AQ is not JUST shy of 50hz. So I am assuming in the neighborhood of ~46hz. Then simply put, if it has to be THAT high... the box is WAY too large for music.
