    Need more runs?

how does the circuit breaker trip then the amp go into protect? The breaker is killing the circuit so if ur amp is in protect, then it's still getting power from somewhere which sounds dangerous.

TEAM Eye Aye Kay! Ok guys, let's get the weekend planned right now so iwe know what to do, where to go, etc... I am leaving Louisville and going up to Indy Friday. Where am i going? I am booking a hotel for Friday and Saturday at the Ramada Limited. As far as i know.. i guess i'll just drive up to my Hotel and surf SMD some until i get pissed off.. then probably watch the Limited cable on tv for about 3 minutes.. then walk outside, stare at my car for a while just begging to be turned on.. then walk back in the room.. Take a db shit, then call David about 9 times until I convince him to come down.. then probably stalk Casey for a while until I tell him i'm behind him... Then probably call Chop and meetup with him somewhere.. Then say somethin off the wall to Chuck for about 10minutes so he gets mindfucked that night.. Then probably show my install to Senchez and his family and after i leave have them talk about how crazy i am.. Then that's about it for Friday. So, besides that, do we have any plans for Friday?
  3. If you really want to learn more about what you are or aren't hearing, you need a pressure meter. Just because you aren't competing doesn't mean it's not a tool you do not need. I owned pressure meters for quite a while before competing and I learned a lot about my car and how it functions. Just by having that experience, I was able to greatly increase it's output even on an audible level without buying anymore equipment to achieve such goals.

Honestly, i'm surprised SMD even has any topics visible to the public with as many that get edited, deleted, etc...

This is what separates the past from the future of measuring pressure. The SQL Meter uses a special algorithm used to bring the oldschool competition back! No more burp only, no more tuning your system JUST for a specific range, etc.... The SQL Algorithm is the TRUE method of distinguishing who has the loudest overall stereo system out there. People with 170db+ extreme vehicles will now be EQUALLY competitive with those who run an amateur style aftermarket setup that may have less than $1,000 invested. How is this possible? This is how it works- User will be metered for 30 seconds. In these 30 seconds, something very interesting is happening... For EVERY SECOND the meter is measuring of the 30 seconds, it will be finding 1 peak PER range using the following ranges- 20-26 Hz 26-33 Hz 33-40 Hz 40-53 Hz 53-66 Hz 66-80 Hz 80-160 Hz 160-320 Hz 320-640 Hz 640-1280 Hz 1280-2560 Hz 2560-5120 Hz 5120-10240 Hz 10240-20000 Hz Good Luck! Active measurable SPL ranges during measuring- 120-165dB. Capable averaged scores at end of 30 second run- 0dB - 165dB. PS - Nobody in the history of the SQL Meter that we have ever known has been able to average over 150dB. And as a matter of fact, not even 140dB. Remember, the meter locates peaks in ALL ranges. If your stereo cannot play very well in ANY particular range, your score will suffer very bad and your choice of music is also a major part in doing well also.
  6. this movie that came out a few years ago about getting the earth to start rotating again. See, the earth stopped rotating around it's core and massive natural disasters started happening. So they built this device using an element called "unobtanium" to dive into the core and set off explosions precisely to get the Earth rotating again. That is what Autozone needs, 1 copy on DVD or Bluray for $17.99.

    Audio technix deadener.....

Two things... One, why did you not like the wire? It's pretty hard to mess up wire so curious as to what you do not like about it.. And 2, bassahaulic, some things are sold cheaper than anyone else and still perform well.. Crescendo and Audiopipe.. We may not be comparing utmost superior parts being used in some AP amps but with how the majority of users use high powered amps just for xtreme bass and burps, if it works, it works.. Proper installation will allow anyone's product to last a long time.
  8. it was undriveable, hehe. But knowing Dave.. we do not know what he is thinking, lol.

    Audio technix deadener.....

You sir do not know what you are doing.. You are pathetic.. Jesus Christ.. i dont even know what to say... Lol.. is that the kind of trash talking you were talking about? hehe Anyways, Were you able to apply ANY of that stuff that didn't have Adhesive problems out of the box? In favor of the product in this instance, if you applied any of it that had adhesive damage, then can't give an accurate review of it's adhesive strength... Now, on the other hand, the adhesive should have never came in contact with anything other than protective sheeting. I've never seen it come this way from anyone but if the protective sheeting can't "protect it", then they need to wrap it up in plastic sheeting and tape it up securely to prevent this from happening. That's a whole $0.05 out of pocket expense on their end. Another thing is a while back i had bought some B stock SS spl tile things from them and i applied them on 1 door and that stuff didnt stick right at all after 2-4weeks. IT was B stock because something was off with the adhesive, can't remember what though but they said it would still work fine....Yea right.. maybe on the floor, lol. I will say that you said the sheets are very stiff.. That alone takes a LOT of forming to get right.. it's a Bitch! It's extremely difficult to apply stiff sheets on an area where gravity is the enemy. Perhaps they need to rethink their focus on who and how their sheets is to be used? In my experience, if i were selling deadener and the customer got it in like that, an insurance claim should have been possible and an immediate re-shipment of material should have been issued. Deadener is not that expensive so there shouldn't be any reason "out of pocket" is severe in such cases.
  10. He had 128,000w of power on 50+ Optimas.. but i "think" he always ran with the vehicle OFF... However, people like him who run vehicle off could also of had multi alts for advertising and cosmetic purposes.
  11. God.. now autozone has Facebook likes on it.. I must be out of the times with all this social networking.. Yea, that's the best choice right there with Autozone.
  12. Scottie Johnson used to have 1 or 2 Astros too (XS Power). I do not know if he ever had any upgraded alts on it or not but worth a shot.
  13. i know you aren't installing a "lot" of power but cheap alts have cheap effects. I wouldn't want to be running 8 awg powerground wire to a 1500w amp because it "works". Looking at DC Power, they have an alt for $390 that does 130A at idle, 180a max https://www.dcpowerinc.com/fit/2006~Toyota~Tundra~4.7L-V8-2UZ-FE/13994-180-hp.html Mechman only offers 1 for $600. You also have Ohio Gen, Excessive Amperage, Mike Singer, Knukonceptz, Mean Green, Db Electric Some of those i'd never run even for free but there you go.

    Low voltage

yea i was gonna say 4awg wire is fine if it's short. at 4ft long, 4 awg can handle up to 295A @5% voltage drop per NEC standard. I used to use 4 runs of 4 awg 18" long per run and pull 1100A of current on quick burps. Never effected my score. Thanks to MECA for making me run funky size cables so i started making my own blocks, etc at that point.

    Problems

yea man.. if i can get 4 18s, 33cuft, 8 batts, 6 amps, 2 processors, lots of ext bracing and over 125ft of cable in a scion tc just in the rear.. u can get an amp in a truck.. Dont make me come over there, hehe.
  16. i dont give a damn about not givin a damn. I'd like to see that video.
  17. shizzzon

    Problems

you are thinking far too into it. I can keep on giving you speculatory answers as to what if and possibly that but i'm telling you, unless you plan on breaking 160s, i highly doubt your truck will suffer glass damage. I live around competitors who use trucks and while their flex may look violent close to the mid 50s, it's been intact for years. The ability for glass to shatter normally is the surrounding area is not braced well enough. If you had an actual air leak in the rear window, then it will be flexing just from driving as the glue is starting to crack. Overkill is one thing but this is beyond overkill.
  18. shizzzon

    Problems

Side windows, extremely unlikely, regardless of pressure. Rear window.. only if it actually has a visible air leak.
  19. shizzzon

    Problems

you are wanting to add strong glass above enclosure to hold an amp i believe, correct? If the glass is shaking, the amp is shaking. If the amp is shaking, your amp will not last long anyway. Properly braced box will allow anyone to mount things to enclosure without flexing issues.

    Problems

Lexan is polycarbonate and will scratch like crazy. There is scratchless polycarbonate but is extremely expensive. Get acrylic glass at 0.22" thick at Lowes. OptiX i believe is the name brand. They sell it very cheap there.
  21. it sure doesnt man. Ifwhen you know for sure when you are coming to the show, save my number- 502-471-0002. We can all hang out together at the show. IAK is pretty large and a great party to get to know so you'll have a great time.
  22. i dont get hangovers when drinking properly.
  23. Sure! with = 15ft away on separate structures
  24. We will be staying at the Ramada Limited. 3851 Shore Drive, Indianapolis, IN Hotels.com currently has early booking for $61 a night there. It is 3.3mi driving distance from the Raceway. It is not near a neighborhood, well surrounded by businesses.
