Flip Out Help
shizzzon replied to Budah93's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Like how are you going to be using it and what features do u need? -
custom music needs to be tuned lower.. normal music usually peaks in the high 30s to the 40hz range. Speaking mechanically, i don't see a problem here in which to bring up better mechanical handling in a smaller box because the power source in this scenario is nothing large for the driver being used. The only real way this driver could mechanically get damaged is simply by having the SSF off or extremely low. The larger the box, the better it can produce the low end, the smaller the box, the more it can not do that. If you tune low and build small, it will still tend to want to peak higher than normal. IE- 2.25 at 32hz might want to peak in the mid to high 30s. 1.75 at 32hz might want to peak in the mid to high 40s.

not disagreeing with what you are saying about it going in protect but curious at the same time- What would logically make an amp go into protect by adjusting the xover?
-
i'll tell u what i know man- When both air springs air aired to same PSI(when the first one was just leaking slow..) the BAD air strut actually sits up a good 0.75" higher than the other side that does not have a problem! That right there indicated that LESS weight is being put on the bad strut.... Another thing, airlift told me possibly a defect in the car can be creating stress points on their air strut on that side causing damage... If that's the case, only removing all the weight would fix it... BUT since the whole assembly lines up perfect, it would be no worse than cornering hard in a car, know what i mean? Coil springs by themselves are $1440.
-
Well, i'm gonna calm down a little.. Talkin to teamramrod on the phone, we are gonna work on a backup solution in case the 3rd air spring goes bad this weekend... Coil spring- besides them being $1700 installed.. being told by the shop and the company who sells them that they are not designed to go up to handle weight so it would be a waste of money. Teamramrod has a custom heavy duty spring solution from a local company he works with that has the ability to custom make me some springs over my stock struts to raise the car -2.5-4.5" higher.. but i'm only going to fall back on this IF i have too.

Downdate..... XTREMELY bad news right now.... Shop just swapped out the replacement air spring and as soon as we dropped the car jack down on the ground... BAMMMM! The Air bag sleeve literally blew a 1.2" hole out the side... Airlift got a good phone call 5minutes after that... My air spring was WITHIN air PSI specs.. max = 125PSI, spring= 110PSI.. instant blow out... Other air spring has never leaked or blew out yet... They are now suggesting either 2 defects in springs or there is an unforseen defect in my car in that area which is causing stress point(s) on their air struts which is causing leaks and blowouts instantly.... So, long story short- 3rd air spring is being delivered thursday.. By this weekend, we will know whether it's working or it's failed again... In the sorta likely event it blows out or leaks again, THE ENTIRE BUILD LOG WILL BE TERMINATED! Everything will be uninstalled and sold to the masses... The car will revert back to stock... Remember, this is only if the 3rd air spring is damaged.. I am already preparing for the worst so that's what's going on right now. Cross your fingers and hope airlift sends me a beefy airspring replacement.

you did that score because you have an outstanding battery bank! Good job!

Interest in Big 3 kits?

You gettin the wire for less than $0.82 a foot? If not.. i know a source that can help you... 270A rated per NEC standard @9ft long @75C 805A rated per NEC standard @3ft long @75C It will not be as flexible as the best flex jackets out there so you might want to get a 5ft sample from somewhere to check it out. -
Well.. Where are these scores at? Bout to go meter.. 2 hrs later.. no numbers... Let's think of some other things that could be going on for such a long time to come back with some numbers.... Sausage fest? nah.. couldn't be... Massive noise ordinance violation? nah.. Not enough SPL, hehe. Broken software? Quite possible Loss of output? Let's hope not..... Started talking too long and ran out of gas? Probably! Not loud enough? Tim is trying to place the meter on the Blow-off valve to cheat... It got so hot outside that both of their walls melted? nah.. it would have been on the news by now. Both of them got lost on the way to the same place? Horror Movie time! Well either way.. it has to be one of those things....

all these scores you guys are posting.. i'm assuming those are outlaw kick scores?

I forgot that since you have all the answers.. you are just trolling here.. damn me..

was just lookin thru... DAMN! You just got 8 10s for FREE!!?!?!! I need to start shopping here more often. I keep missing all the promotional deals.

They are the best shop around because they can prey on those who appear to not have experience and get their money regardless of what the customer wants even though it's not wise. Many shops do this.. The shops who educate people and reject customer's money will lose potential profit.. If the shop is big.. they'll do anything you ask them too. And same box, different box.. doesn't matter. The end result will still be flawed. You want to know what kind of effect it will have? Do this- Balance your headunit all the way to the left, then fade forward about 6/15. Why do you mainly hear the front speaker if not ONLY the front speaker? Uneven power distribution results in speaker(s) receiving more power than other(s). The speaker with the most power will have the potential to audibly overpower anything else in the install. This is the same reasoning why you shouldn't mix dual 4 ohm and dual 2ohm, etc.. together. You want to save money and still get loud? Get larger enclosure built for the 2 15s and keep amp. or Recone to D2s and get 2 APSM-1300s and sell that Hifonics amp. or Get 2 SSA D2 15" Gcons on 2 APSM-1300s. OR.. just use a single sub, high power application.

The beginning of fixingrepairing the buildcar is underway... Here is a list of things that need to be done before finishing this build- rear air strut rebuilt and tested to work New tires New brakes Repair interior dash lights Install alternator with extra cabling Rerun 3 sets of RCA cables Cut and modify existing fuse blocks Tomorrow, i am going to attempt to get the strut fixed... I'll keep everyone updated as everything above is slowly fixed.. then the rest of the build should be completed afterwards.

Cool man! Yea just get as many as u can, i can do the editing here. Also.. for those who love the old school Three 6 Mafia - Late Nite tip song... Yea, back in the day, it got played out WAY TOO MUCH for bass demos.. Thank God that time has now passed, What did i do? uh oh.... Well, you know how i like to mod music.. Well, i particularly do not like to touch classics because memories of the original can't be surpassed with a remake... Well, that's how i think so i knew if i were to do this.. it better be beneficial... IT IS! The HIGH Range has been re-tweaked to make the song sound more energetic when playing loud rather than subtle and low on your all's amazing front stage... Another thing, , the bass portions, all 3 bass lines have been re-amplified to an even stronger feel... How about another 6dB of boost? Hells to the Yea! And last but not least.. Every so many seconds in the original, the song wanted to go way off course and try to peak between 60-110hz.. We don't need that annoying bass line in the song.. It caused subs to heatup quicker, etc.. So, i attenuated that range down about 12db and listened to it carefully afterwards.. And i gotta say.... The remake.. A LOT BETTER than the original! I think Chuck will have a new demo song to play for some people,

Who are you talking about here? You typing while something else is on your mind! Uh oh! hehe. Anyways, yep.. I couldn't agree more.. We have MANY innovative ideas about new type of amp designs but we are not a company that will just go into production and build our own amps.. It wouldn't be too cost effective on our part. This is why we are looking into bringing newly innovative tech to the amp industry universally so it can be used on ALL existing amps instead of buying into those that only come loaded with it.

All of IAK, yes i know.. humungous... But that's the point.. IAK is no joke!

Replacing the DNX8120

is an Android tablet capable? With v 4.0, you can hookup external USB devices to it such as DVD, etc... Then you could use Pandora for all your music needs. -

Those amps put out about 5600w @1ohm so wired at 0.5ohm, you would likely be seeing 5-5600w of power, not 10kw. @0.25ohm.. while crazy, i would expect to see around 6,000-8,000w of power. -
4 vvx10's need power....Decisions, decisions...
shizzzon replied to superman_69's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
oh.. well you should be looking for 2 1ohm stable amps rated for about 1500-2000w per amp. If you do get something bigger than 1500w, make sure you are well aware of how to play your system so it doesn't go up in smoke. -

forget what you just said.. what's wrong with getting 2 of those soundstream amps? Your cheapest option will be to get 2 1ohm stable amps as it is. -

Here you go Steve... looks like you'll need to know this soon- http://www.percysop.com/about_our_windshields.html http://www.racingshields.com/default.html Now the bad news... Polycarbonate is NOT legal for windshield or side window use. Reason being is it will not break if needed to if in severe crash and may slightly lower visibility vs tempered glass. Now, it's undetectable that it would be polycarbonate on the road but you could get cited if in a bad crash.
