Pretty soon, we won't need hard drives much longer for video storage. I use external dual synced HDDs for my HD collections. Some websites have been popping up over the years uneffected by laws that are streaming full length movies for free still in theater. I am waiting for the time that this becomes a reality for all types of video. One source alone, IE- netflix isn't enough. I want to see a collection of sources that work together to bring the generation of video streaming at the fingertips without the need to store them physically or virtually.

I'd probably go pure Crown and probably limit my max power to around 4kw. Remember i'm crazy.... Basic wiring = 1520A breakers. You can't run 4kw on single breaker so you must know how all the electrical is ran to what sockets in the main room. Hopefully there is more than 1 breaker in the same room to achieve high power. At the same time i say high power, your install needs to be efficient! You may only need 1-2kw which would still tear the dorm down! I'd personally find a sub that can be had for cheap and buy an array of them. Build a MASSIVE enclosure for them... You may end up with 30-70cuft easy, i do not know how crazy you wanna go. Give me a budget, room, etc.. I'll see if i can narrow it down for ya. This kind of build has limits even though u may not see them...

You will want Intel Core I57 Line 100% Unfortunately, if you cannot find a tuner, you would really want an I7 and those are not in the ideal $500 budget. I have successfully OC'ed I5 dual-core to outperform stock I7 quad-core benchmark for benchmark using Photoshop Benchmark. I5s are cheaper and the overall system should be too. If you feel like splurging on yourself, you can get 16GB of RAM for under $100 It's DDR3-1600 but after doing lots of research, going any higher in the XMP profile abilities show no immediate performance increase all the way up to DDR3-2200+ If you can figure out a way for me to ship you a computer safely, i'll build it for you. You know.. now that i think about it.. I wonder if purchasing cases separately come with plenty of foam padding? IF they do, then i can just add some more for the extra items and BAM! Whole new PC. 1 TB of HDD space, lol. When you said memory i almost had a stroke! In all honesty, you could get a computer built for around the same price and have it OC'ed to outperform computers 2-3x the price. ANY branded Stock clocked computer will not satisfy you for the money if you only knew how much you get with an OC. You want a workstation computer and workstation computers need to be OC'ed more than any other type of usage out there. Contrary to belief, gaming computers need not be touched.. Try and find someone who does this kind of thing in your area. I'd do it for you but have never shipped a computer before and feel leary doing it.

If it is the XP alt then it doesnt matter how much you load on it. IF you talked to Dave.. well, that's probably why he scared you. Rob is rarely there, Kyle is cool, Stan is cool. The XP alts have a safety feature from being overloaded unlike any other high output alternator out there. You will have low voltage if you put 1,000,000 watts on it but the alternator will not just fail like any other normal one would. I do not know if the SPX's have this feature but i do know the XP's have rectifier protection, dual rectification capacity(keep's it cooler) and they use only OE regulators which tend to work better in the long run.

Did you not purchase an XP alternator from DC? Any alt other than the XP will probably have the suggestion of not exceeding certain power limits if you do not know what to look for or monitor.
