Beware! Skar Audio poor customer service

I don't know if it is pointless. Bill just wants Kevin to do what he says he is going to do. Bill gave Kevin a chance and wants to do another build with skar products, but when Bill ask for technical info he feels he is being ignored. I hear ya. Side note, you should email Jacob for tech info on skar drivers ;)/> Lol, i've pulled out my crescendo manuals before to help people with wiring diagrams for their sundown amps.

    Today's 4"VC Heavy Hitters

Well, i've heard them physically and talking to someone, you, who enjoys this hobby, car audio install isn't rocket science. From what i've personally and many others on here, swift's vehicle, is ridiculous in how accurate sound reproduction is above 150. Any other install that fails to do so with the same drivers either has an improper install or just a terrible vehicle to use them for. I am still to this day dumbfounded that the capability even existed for such accuracy at such high pressure levels. And i'm sure it isn't the only driver that can do it, lol.

Beware! Skar Audio poor customer service

I am totally unbiased when it comes to this stuff.. But i can tell you that you can assume because of shady support that hecompany won't last long.. Well, sadly, advertising will outlast what a company is actually capable of so you can sell the worst product possible but with proper advertising, it doesn't matter. I can give MANY examples of this technique. But in reality to the point of this topic, because Skar is probably a 1 person company, do not be surprised that this will happen. One thing i do not understand with small business like this is if you are going to be busy or absent for a while, at least let the public know beforehand. Now, if he is physically incapable of communication then that's different unless you see him lurking elsewhere, hehe.

    Today's 4"VC Heavy Hitters

Let's all wait until summer of 2013 and see what's up. The SP4 has been out for quite a while and it's just been recently that people have been able to start commenting on them.

Do not ever post AQ and anything built by Fi in the same debatable topic again.

Ok, just re-confirmed. ALL Bass amps are even. They are now gain matched...but.. My damn engine noise is back.. I literally give up. Screw the damn noise, i'll live with it. Now, it's time to clean the cabin area out and re-install all factory panels(except for door panels) so that i can try to get MECA to stay in Modified.. IF not, i'm going to be in Radical.. but i might end up in Radical anyways so who knows.

I have unofficially just gain matched all the amps for the first time. Going to play it full tilt today and make sure none of the amps go in protect or die. Something has happened to at least 2 of the bass amps which left them with only half of their inputs or outputs working so only a single channel works. A Line driver will hopefully be able to fix this issue as when testing, only 1 of 2 cables inserted reduced power output at same volume by 50%. So, assuming no harm is to be done here, it will be ramped back up on the preout side to get the same clipped power again. All Engine noise has been fixed now by the way. First show is in 11 days. I will go to this show 100% untuned and unsealed.
  10. Isn't MTX amps built, engineered or something to that extent in the USA primarily? It's something to do with the USA specifically which equates to their suggested pricing. IF i truly wanted an MTX amp, i know i wouldn't be let down on performance if that helps. Mark LaFountain provided us a video a long time ago about MTX's new amps some years ago that was interesting video.

    Crescendo Logic AGM Batteries

i'm not going to suggest anything but XS Power already did a 30sec test on their D3100, Kinetik and something else, can't remember, shuriken i think. Their test showed the kinetik like 10.6 i think, shuriken just a tad higher but the D3100 above 11.0v at the end. They did this test one batt after another and i think XS was last(which without letting loader cool down will not give out as much current as what it can due to resistance). IF the test posted above can be replicated closely again, then it's interesting.

    SPL-Lab vs Termlab The Truth

This entire thread covers past, current and future topic to accuracy. Both companies primary focus is accuracy. The TL has been the whole dedicated pressure sensor used in competitions and by competitors, etc. for many years without any real credible competition. But is competition possible in this business genre? Yes! and it's nothing miraculous about it either. Many long-term competitors have put the TL way up on a pedastal because it's always worked. Well, this is how many businesses work from beginning to end. Toyota wasn't the first automaker but they are doing quite well, Microsoft wasn't the first computer company but look where they are now. Now take that analogy and turn it around and look at what the first of certain companies are doing now in today's world. Termlab wasn't the first company to develop a measuring device but they are the first to run the most leagues in the world with it. It's so large that it is considered the standard around the world. Now, what if there were other people in this world, engineers, out of the 7 billion people on this planet to understand the concept and how it works in full. To develop their own line of product to directly compete with this company down to the nitty gritty because that is what we are both about, accuracy. When SPL-Lab first started in 2007, we had a wired meter that did 120-175db. Still then, that meter was calibrated to share the same accuracy as the TL using special testing to void out any possible variables that could influence the measured values of either device. Later on, it was widened to 120-179. Our accuracy measuring methods were to be exact when measuring TEST TONES. Our sampling rate is different than the Termlab so certain rapid peaks in music or averaging in general wasn't dead-on with TL because that would require the same sampling rate. Later on, we widened our FR range. It has and always has been able to go up to 120hz, higher than the TL has ever done and now SPL-Lab has a range of 10-120hz. But this still wasn't enough... In 2013, we are developing the following with before and after comparisons between products- USB and USB Pro meter- 10-120hz, 110-183dB Before- rapid sampling rate. Causes unnecessary results in extreme fast measures. Accuracy to TL on test tones is exact. Peaks in music and averaging not exact. After- Sampling rate has been slowed down to MATCH that of the TL. Test tones(burps) Peaks in music Averaging ALL will be EXACT to TL once testing is finalized in the upcoming months. LCD Meter- 20-120hz 120-180dB Before- slow sampling rate restricted by speed of internal cpu. Sampling rate is 50% slower than TL so requires an additional 0.5sec of measuring time for dead-on accuracy of test tones to TL. Due to the slow sampling rate, peaks in music and averaging will also shift accuracy several tenths of a dB. After- Sampling rate can now be COMPLETELY bypassed internally by plugging it up to a computer(with new testing software only) and allowing your computer's cpu to do the sampling itself. By doing this, the LCD Meter will share the SAME sampling rate of the TL for Test tones(burps), peaks in music and averaging! So for portability, you will still retain exact accuracy for burps and very close results to musical peaks and averaging but for utmost accuracy, a computer will now be able to force the LCD Meter to be dead-on accurate for all measuring methods. Wireless Meter- 20-120hz 120-180dB Before- Sampling rate was the same as TL on test tones but peaks in music and averaging were slightly off and the dB range was 130-180dB After- dB range has now been widened to 120-180dB and with new testing software, can be made completely accurate to the TL on- Test tones(burps) Peaks in music Averaging ALL will be EXACT to TL once testing is finalized in the upcoming months. This is VERY BIG news for those skeptical of switching from TL or those who are just starting to compete. What the public is about to see soon is a complete replica of accuracy capabilities no matter the main methods of measuring pressure. And we haven't even touched on the topic of how modernized our new Testing Judging software is doing We have developed some features in our very own judging software for leagues that will allow ANYONE to switch over to SPL-Lab if they so choose and those who want to re-invent the wheel on measuring methods for their league classes, we have CUSTOM alteration settings in our software to allow a judge to literally make up exotic classes and measuring tactics that will keep the car audio competition alive for decades and decades with all new and current styles of impressing spectators and competitors alike. We do not generate exotic preset measuring methods, the limit is all in the creativity of the judge, Why stick with a brick in the wall when there is a road that never ends and the sites just keep getting better.

i still cant hear what you typed, WHAT? Lol. Yea, high notes like mid 40s and 50s will cause you to have breathing problems and the feeling of being chemically balanced at times, lol. No db numbers are to be measured yet until it's relevant.

go to www.box.net and register for free. You can upload a LOT of data for free as long as they are less than 20mb per file. Just upload them, send him the master share link to the folder then delete them if need-be.

Zon 15 caught fire in a 4th order!

SPL-Lab Smart Monitor is designed to prevent things like this from happening.. The reason why the coil isn't damaged is because the tinsel leads are weaker than the coil is thermally.
  17. As long as you put some sort of vibrating suppression under the amp then it's fine by me. I use 34" thick foam under my amp's mounting feet whenever i need to install it on a panel that will be flexing. Make sure you compensate for the screw length because of the padding.

    rise

for quick burps, i do it all the time and suggest it for those who compete. For daily, you would be better talking with the manufacturer to see how stout the current devices and layout of the board will except 50% more increase in current over the maximum rated ability. Several amps exist now on the market that are wired to 0.5ohm daily and run just fine. I must stress 2 things though- One, you need twice the battery power to do this compared to wiring at 1ohm for safety. And 2- when i say to 0.5ohm daily, i mean 0.5ohm daily, not 0.35ohm daily which is common for many Dual 1ohm subs which have a DCR of 0.7. I do not advise running 0.35ohms daily per amp as it puts a lot of stress on the amp itself regardless of it's build stature.

    ShiZZZoN's Build #2 The Epicness of 2011-2024

It currently sounds like it did dB wise like the last wall except this wall is currently peaking a LOT lower than the last wall because of 200% increase in volume compared to the last wall. Once it gets warm again this monday, i'm going to locate and hopefully fix the last noise issue, then try something to gain match all these amps as well. If i succeed, then the next step is to finish sealing the inside of this wall, then the outside... then get my laptop out, create an Excel spreadsheet, get FIVE meters installs in this car, then start testing EVERYTHING.

Gene Rosen of Sandy Hook Shooting Rehearsal Video

Umm.. it is to educate and help those who DO research. Where did anyone personalize this thread? A lot of conspiracy points have been made but from what i see are basing their own opinions on what is being collected on ONE side of the story... The best and ONLY way to research something is to be completely unbiased, pick a side, get all the information from that side, then pick the other side and get all the information from that side, then pick no side and obtain any and all random information and THEN start sorting out what you have collected. When all that is laid out is from one side, then it's easy to convince yourself of something that is not proven whatsoever. There's no reason to believe it if the path of research leads to false claims. Quick research and assumptions without debatable information doesn't make for a fair argument and if the opinion sides with itself as private fact, then that person should feel sorry for themself for not pushing themself further in doing more clever and adequate research.
