    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

no man but i'll def get it tomorrow... dbsupra on here is coming to help me cut and strip all the audio stuff out tomorrow. Thanks to car audio, lol.. my wall acted as a roll cage keeping me safe in the car. I installed the wall anchored to the frame of the car on ALL 4 sides.. The entire audio install including wood, and all factory interior is still fine and intact.. The unibody frame and air bag deployment we are sure will not please the adjuster come monday morning.. But yea, we will be out there prob all day doing this gettin pics.. Doing lots of research, apparently lots of people want my 2AZ-FE engine.. I'm seeing them sold for over $2k with close to 100k on them.. My estimated buy back is ~$1,500 unofficial so i'm gonna let it sit and start parting it out probably... We can literally dead lift the engine out, lol.. It only weighs 248lbs..

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

i've been forced to look at ACV values, bluebook and buy back values of my vehicle today... Wonder why that is.. Nobody was hurt.. 1 person incident.. NEVER install air suspension without some sort of shock suppression... Lesson learned.. literally no lie.. hit a dip, bounced off the pavement @65mph, slammed back down, couldnt control, slid off pavement.. into the totaled ditch area.. Entire passenger side dented, unibody twisted, passenger air bag deployment, hood shifted.. Guaranteed totaled.. Good news- won't have to keep putting labor into it getting it louder, lol.. Ugh.. i'll be busy making sure i'm not undercut on this insurance deal the next several days. Going tomorrow to remove about $10k worth of stuff before Monday.. Once they get their hands on it.. i'm screwed so tomorrow is the day where i'm in destruction mode to get my property back.
  3. Wow.. never used pole before but jesus.. they must do wonders, hehe.... I can tell you now.. most of us do like our ground pounders.. but if u take some couch cushions or whatever big and stuff that port closed.. take a slow resonance sweep of that blazer and see where it peaks at when the port is not effecting the peak, you can see where u need to peak at.. It should be above 50hz easy. Then u can only imagine how much louder you would be on the meter if you sealed literally like 50% of the enclosure off to force it to peak right.. Of course, this is the meter route.. for ground pounding.. you need 100% the largest enclosure possible. Either way, the way it sits right now.. You have accomplished a mobile miracle. Assuming everything else is assumed to stay intact from the pressure, you Da Man, hehe.
  4. On another note.. How does your windshield react to that at 42hz? Do you see in the near future a replacement requirement?
  5. OMG.. We are what? 99% sure that's not your peak note in that vehicle being you have a wall? Unless your enclosure is over ~24cuft net.... Regardless.. again.. OMG.. and I know the potential to get louder on the meter is there without anymore equipment installation..

Well, we could go about it many ways... We have calibrations for MANY other companies. We calibrate to the biggest competitor because that's the standard. In terms of "Stealing" or copying the algorithm.. it's the same as duplicating calibrations from one device to another. There are 2 other devices we know of that are very consistent with our competitor but the requirement to use them falls flat on it's face which makes them undesirable. Unlike other genres of car audio, duplicating results in this business is mandatory in a sense. Few years ago, we have had many discussions on what if your competitor was wrong and some new company's calibrations were right but had different results? Nobody would want it because it didn't replicate the standard of measure. We've had complaints and complaints about this for about 2 yrs so we finally decided to attack it. The format names, class divisions, league titles, etc are protected which is respectfully noted. We wouldn't want to see some new league form with classes and divisions simply stolen from another league acting as their own. The measuring tactics are quite simple- frequency, amplitude, time. You then can mix them up and do all sorts of things and create your own classes. Unlike our competitor, our new software still being written allows judges\competitors to create their own classes by manipulating these 3 main things which means they can create their own formulas and their own classes. Something no other software allows in competition. It's possible that during these creations, a user can create MANY formulas which duplicate many other big and smaller leagues classes but the formula itself is not protected. Because of the ability to alter formulas freely by the user, it may sound as if it's just set in stone, bam there it is, we just copied this and that, the end.. No, we have added the ability to use another measurement people wanted so badly and able to manipulate it to create their own classes as well. This hasn't been talked about deeply yet because the software isn't public yet but parts of it's features exist in the current software now. Ability to change cycles per second, measuring durations, etc.. THD- Because there is hardware out there that people pay a good amount of money for to do the same thing when it's unnecessary... And why not add the feature onto something that was already purchased? A free upgrade is always nice. About resonation.. While i'm not the engineer, I can't debate you on that point. It does work the same way as a clipping system as it can only measure accurately via sine waves but of course that will still exhibit resonation at higher SPL levels as mentioned. I personally thought 2% minimum was a little high but must be limitation in hardware ability. Only way to know for sure is to test myself.

Part 1 of 2- 4-8-2013- "SPL-Lab, with extensive testing, has finally succeeded in gaining consistent results in mathematical calculations and real-world controlled environment tests to state that something has been 'cracked'." SPL-Lab has been known over the years to be very competitive with the "standard" in car audio measurement hardware. A company has to or else why bother? The biggest downside many of our customers commented on is while our hardware when measuring Burps were dead on, measuring for 30 second averages concluded totally different results than the "standard." These results could be as much as 2db off and did not give off consistent results when averaging in comparison because our algorithm is different. We felt different would set us apart but we seen that customers didn't want different, they want identical everything right down to the dot. So, we had to do it... We took our competitor and analyzed it with Matlab. We now have a piece of software that knows what averaging is but we have to find out how it gets it's results.. what algorithm, formula, etc.. After weeks and weeks of simulations.. everything that was suggested to us was WRONG. Sorry guys! So, we started from scratch and slowly worked our way up... During simulations, we found the cycle quantity per second that was required but there was something else still missing.. Then we found it! The other half of the algorithm! While we will not discuss here what the algorithm is, once Matlab confirmed our findings appeared to be true, we then setup an environmentally controlled system comparing both ours and our competition together. We are driving a quick changing frequency sweep with increased amplitude. The softwares are started manually so there is a slight delay in score changes between the 2 which also notes the different in Peak Hz recorded between the two as well because of the starting and ending time change. However, the results shown here has been confirmed to be CONSISTENT, not a one hit wonder test.. WE CAN CONFIRM THAT WE CAN CONSISTENTLY SUSTAIN ACCURATE RESULTS ON BOTH BURPS AND AVERAGING. Next, Part 2 of 2- "For the first time in Car Audio history has a company, who manufacturers, designs and sells sound measuring devices for this hobby for both personal and competition use SUCCEEDED in doing something with the LCD Meter that has NEVER been done before.. ever, ever ever.. " So what have we done? Quite simply, , we now offer a new firmware update to the LCD Meter which will add a new feature to your portable SPL meter... Not only will it still be able to measure SPL portably.. we have added several more functions- Function #1- Since the complete finding of the algorithm specs, the new firmware guarantees LCD Meter is now 100% fully identical in accuracy with BURPS PORTABLY. See, in the past up until now, the LCD Meter has a slightly slow refresh rate which also dictated it's cycle rate. Not anymore... While the refresh rate is STILL limited by the processor, the measuring cycle rate is now IDENTICAL portably to all other SPL meters results! However, averaging mode has been disabled in this firmware due to non-accurate results.. Function #2- While the averaging mode has been removed from the LCD Meter, when plugged up to a computer, our new software will allow the LCD Meter to be FULLY IDENTICAL with all other SPL meters for averaging results! Function #3- THE BIG ONE- With this new firmware update, your LCD SPL Meter can NOW MEASURE THD DISTORTION starting at 2% THD! The range of measure is currently at 40-200Hz and SPL measurements have been widened to 10-128Hz! So, now you no longer have to purchase extra accessories that are only used for one purpose. Now we can take that feature and add it onto our portable SPL Meter and allow users to ACOUSTICALLY measure clipping\Distortion with their portable SPL meter! This will save LOTS of time in fine tuning power and pressure output. And as a gift, the Firmware is being offered for free right now. New Windows software version compatible with ALL versions of Windows from XP to 8 with full accuracy in ALL measurements- http://www.spl-lab.ru/download/SPL-LAB_MC23.zip LCD Meter Firmware 2013- http://www.spl-lab.ru/download/lcd_firmware_2_0.zip

    Power supply for 12v amps

That looks like a Meanwell. You have to make your own AC power cord for those. also, look at the required AC voltage to so you know which phase to wire to. I run a sundown 100.2 on just a 20a power supply. I didn't need all the power so i used an ammeter to set current output to not exceed power supply's capability. Pulling more than 6A from the sundown amp, things start to move and eventually fall off the shelves so i keep it turned down.

    IAK needs an "IHOP"

Shit.. you over there complaining about $400 earlier minus the manifold and im about to be out $Fifteen motha*****-Hundred dollars on just brake system installed on my car.. On top of about to be purchasing $3k worth of subs in the distant future, another ~$500 in amps(optional), more front stage(up to $400) and about $500 in materials just to get better score on the meter.. Feel rich man.. i dont wanna spend ~5k soon just yet.

    can i get an alt?

I ordered mine around this time last year. Got it powder coated, all specs understood via phone and ETA was right on the dot throughout the process. At the time i ordered, it wasn't ready but now it may be. There checkout system is setup to give you up to the minute progress information far more detailed than what'd you see on a tracking number for example with the progress of the alternator build.

    can i get an alt?

DC has had this technology for years.. but it's hard to convince those who've seen their performance in the past do business with them now.

    Team IAK IronMan Explorer

You can choose any alt company you want but if you are in the same application that i am- Too much power and not enough for alt(s)... Then there is only one choice to possibly go with and that's DC's XP line. You'd be a fool not to in that type of application. It'd be the same principle as running 20kw on stock batt.. Doesn't work without using the proper equipment for the proper scenario. Now, if you have the room to use enough alt for the power you are going to run, i'd widen my choices to- DC Power HP, SPX, XP Singer (once he learns how to do hairpin alts) If he can do them now.. then he'd be on the top of the list as well.

    Question about big 3

No, you may see people run multiple RUNS or cables, not strands. Second, you are not suppose to replace anyway but add. Every power cable that you add needs to be fused.

    surround sound in vehicle

It would take front, center, rear and sub and the cost will be as much as you want to spend. Analog and digital are 2 different beasts with 2 different price ranges.
  18. Price isn't based on just power.. You buy what fits your application.

    I want Google Fiber Now

Lol, the way you worded that, comes out the Japanese side.. Made it sound like the whole country's Network infrastructure was created and the Master hardline is ran to your house through this massive Router that distributes bandwidth at a level that's incomprehensible. Although.. i'd be happy with paying for it if i had the whole country's bandwidth at my fingertips, hehe.
  20. it is a little warm all around but not so much that i cannot touch i'm nervous about how much worse things will be in the summer ive had problems with scosche fuses i figured going with knu i would be ok..... It seems a little off though because I am only running a stock alt its not like im pushing 220 amps through the fuse and it is a 300 amp fuse anyways idk maybe the fuse holder is way less conductive than my ofc 1/0 gauge so when the current hits the fuse it has issues all thats guessing tho i just thought a fuse holder is only 2 pieces of metal how dumb does a company have 2 be 2 mess it up Yea.. EXACTLY.. Dumb enough to manufacturer it without actually testing it in the real world i guess. It's sad that people like Toolmaker and Project DB exist because these companies who have a high financial backbone can't even get the damn basics of conductivity right for NORMAL operations.. Of course you would be fine with Stinger but hey, anything should work.. I would probably say Tsunami and Xscorpion would be fine too.

    I want Google Fiber Now

Haha, the lower right of the pic- Faster than 91% of Jonathan Price.. uh uh.. I mean Japan. That is fast but yea.. US is gay when it comes to the internet. It's probably mainly due to piracy prevention.. but hey.. We have OnLive now, companies are going to be streaming full 1080p HD non-visually compressed, all 6 kids play xbox 24\7 in some houses.. We need that fast ass internet access damnit.
  22. that looks SO CLEAN! You could take your computer to a car audio show and win just by install, lol.
