save it as text? Wouldnt that have corrupted the excel format? When you hit save, that drop down menu right below the filename in the save as or save to window, it will let you choose various formats to save as. Hit the drop down menu and choose all files *.* This will keep the extension file .xls -

my mind just can't process it, hehe. This is what i am seeing- chan 1 and 2 go out of the amp then come back in to 3 and 4 but because the line out is still plugged up obviously, it runs back into 3 and 4 again, again and again. I'm lost but if u say it works, then ya it's a great secret feature, hehe -

well coming from the owner, that's great and weird at the same time... That's like running a line out from headphones into a mic input.. I've done that before to see what would happen and i just got a loud squeal. -

i'll let u guys know hopefully within the next week. There are 2 problems here- 1 - why wasn't the amp(s) receiving a signal through the rcas? 2 - what happened to the slave amp to cause it to go up in smoke... I'll find out number 1, they'll find out number 2. -
it's not super efficient but it doesnt take a lot of power to get loud? What is it, headphones?

update to this scenario- I finally got the master amp to work. There is, as i originally thought, a problem with the signal cables. But unfortunately, i've just gotten sick, figures, so it's gonna be a couple to few days before i can get back there and see whether the shop plugged them into the right output, verify the jacks work at all and make sure the head unit isn't damaged. The problem with the slave amp smoking... can't say until they receive the amp... I havent shipped it yet, i'll try tomorrow hopefully. -

i could try but not the one that went up in smoke, hehe. I seriously would have.... but i was at the shop when we were doin testing. If it would have not went up in smoke.... we were gonna switch out the rcas and see if it helped... If it didnt, i was gonna run one at a time to troubleshoot.. but the smoke got me first. Their master tech is callin me tomorrow so lets see what he can think of. -

well, definitely not low impedance. Even if it were, it'd be a LOT louder than what it was. That 100w amp i had in there when i was doing box testing was louder than this, that's how bad it was. A short, inside the amp is the only way i see it. Everything was looked over by me and a tech at this shop and found nothing wrong. And nothing with the multimeter or protection lights would disagree with me either. Apparently i'll just have to wait and see what they say. Well... guess i can go ahead and take pics of the install tomorrow before i ship em out. the remote wires are disconnected right now so if anyone sees that, don't blame the problem on that, lol -
BIG PROBLEM!!! Another delay. I can't say what happened because i do not know, all i kow is that there is gonna be about a 2week delay minimum on this project. One of the amps just went up in smoke due to a possible signal problem. I can't say anything further until i hear something after they receive the amps.

we have ADT\Brinks Home security. Basically, we have sensors on the doors and windows so if the sensor separates(door\window is open), it will trigger the alarm. We also have 2 motion sensors that are very sensitive. If you have any pets in the house, remember this line and i'll get back to it. Our alarm has a stay or away mode. If set to away, all sensors are active. If set to stay, the motion sensors are disabled so if you have pets, this is what you would want to set it to. When setting the alarm, you have 30 seconds to get out before it's fully active. Once active, if you open the door, you have 30 seconds before the actual alarm goes off. You cannot stay in the house when the actual alarm is going off. It's so loud... it's... trust me, no way. Anyway, if you do not disable the alarm before the real alarm goes off, the police are dispatched immediately. Also, you will receive a phone call requesting that you tell them a secret password that is different than the alarm itself. If you do not know it, feel sorry for you. There are other sensors tied into it to. You can get sensor so if the smoke detector goes off or if a carbon monoxide detector goes off, the fire department is immediately dispatched. I speak from experience... false alarms though, cleanin out the furnace, hehe. don't know how much it costs but there you go.

I'm off for a while from work and just noticed that there are screenings for this showing in my area at 11:59, 12:10, 12:20, 12:30, 12:40 am. If i can keep myself up long enough, i'm definitely goin tonight! Who else is goin?

YES!! I get to be the first to respond to the 56th thread just like this!!!! Hmm, let's see comparing basics- 2 12s to 3 12s to 3kw to 4kw. 2 12s off of 4kw= x amount of output 3 12s off of 3kw= x amount of output. it takes double surface area or double power to potentially gain 3Db. So, going from 2 to 3 12s potentially is a 1.5Db gain. Going from 4kw to 3kw is a 1.5db loss. So, lets say for example 2 12s off of 4kw is 150Db. Add one more 12 adds 1.5Db, but subtract 1000wrms and you have lost 1.5Db. Result- Either setup should potentially do the same. But i prefer the 3 12s because that is a better efficient setup.

it kinda makes you wonder after this story if another sequel's story would ever succeed.

Ok, got my batt in. I've been workin pretty much all day... I am STILL ALMOST done with the bass area yet again. 1 freaking battery terminal took just over 2hrs to install. A word of advice, if you do not have patience, do not buy KnukonceptZ Konfused terminals and put their Kolossus 1/0 cable in there. I have had nothing but trouble with that damn terminal. So, yet again, tomorrow, all i gotta do with the bass area is run the ground from both AQ amps and ground my battery solenoids and parallel all ground terminals on batts. That's it! Then of course spray out the entire area so nothing it loose back there and start tuning the amps. I'll try to get some progress goin for install the Image Dynamics but i can't promise anything. Oh, i'll be takin pics once everything is grounded. I WILL MAKE A VIDEO BUT AFTER I PURCHASE A NEW VID CAM.

he has 2 memphis 1500ds. I would look over your vehicle before deciding on adding that 2nd amp in there. You will need minimally- 200A alt approx 150aH worth of batts just in the rear of the vehicle. This does not include the batt up front. Failure to meet that will result in very short run time at recommended voltage levels unless you listen to a lot of music that rarely has bass, lol. now, factor in the space you may have left.

who's to say that all electric cars run off of 12v? A few yrs ago, there was a document that came from Europe that stated by 2009, they wanted to start introducing cars that ran off of 48v but i havent heard about this since the first time i read about it which was a few yrs ago.

NEW UPDATE, finally some good news! UPS said they found the battery and will be delivered today, YEA!!!!!! Also, Everything that consisted of wiring and installation for the AQ amps and subs are completed with the exception of grounding everything. Because i am waiting on the last battery, all the ground leads are still not ran yet but that doesn't take long. I am currently trying to work on getting the factory speakers replaced but i am missing my jigsaw because someone else has it right now... Hopefully i get it back today. So... sometime today, i should get this setup performing.

1,2,4 ohm?
shizzzon replied to bbhs2320's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
it's best to just choose what subs you want then find the amp that works best for them. If you are trying to compare different effects of ohm load on the same amp, then this will apply- Damping factor decreases everytime you half the ohm load. THD distortion jumps usually by a multiple of 10 when you half the ohm load. Power draw and output on average may double when you half the ohm load. The lower you drop the ohm load, the more current the amp will output through the speaker wire...So if you are doing a big install, using small wire might melt it, but you gotta be doin some pretty hefty power. -

get 2 AQ1200ds. strapped @2ohms = 2,940w. Price - $498 + shipping. -
ok, monday night, i'm almost done with the bass part of the install. My fuse holders took me....practically ALL day to get them finished. I had to fight with this one that was really pissin me off because i have just enough room for everything. It's ridiculous how much space i don't have. But, CAD is my hero, i've probably said that once before. Once i installed the batteries that actually came last friday, i had 1\8" clearance to fit the batts, that's how pressed for space i am! All i got left to do is run all the remote turn on lines for the amps, then run power and fuse my 4 channel amp. I'm kinda holdin out and waitin to do the 4 channel because i need to work on replacin the stock speakers. It's suppose to rain for the next 3 days here but hopefully i can get them replaced. I get to call UPS tomorrow... to see where my batt is! Can't start the setup without all the batts installed. If it got stolen or lost... i'm going to have a big problem with a delay.
