cant' wait to see that new 8' sub that sundown has. I bet it has like 38mm xmax and 380mm xmech. Knock your head off.
-
especially for a trunk.. Tell us what kind of dimensions you have that can still fit into the opening of the trunk.
-
sounds like it's bottoming out especially the size box you have that sub in. Play at lower volumes and see if it's present in the front stage speakers first. Sometimes modded music has transient clipped peaks that "pop" when not edited correctly. You rule that out, then i'm aiming at bottoming out.

I'm not going to take aim at any one person or forum but over here, we despise deception. It's better to educate the uneducated rather than sell things to the uneducated and let them remain uneducated.. However, we, even in person, can't accomplish this always as i've tried with some people. Some people are just so ignorant that they either refuse or cannot comprehend anything. For those people, they MUST pay for everything and it's their fault. -

Because no matter what you use, one of two things will happen- Your source material used to setup an amp is either going to be too low(like in your example) or too high(technically that's safe but you would always keep the amp in a state of outputting lower power). So.. the best way is just to use your ears and nose. Test tones are single frequencies. Music is dynamic which cannot be measured properly, even with a clipping indicator. IE- some people, like I, like to get an idea of how the gain is set on the amp, power-wise, when driving 3-7x the rated power to a sub for certain styles of competition. That doesn't mean by my findings i will prevent thermal failure.. No, it gives me an idea of the time i will have and when to start looking for thermal failure. This is also valid for proper fusing in competition, etc.. But notice how i keep bringing up competition. For daily driving, you do not need anything made by SMD and that's a fact. Should be in science books. -
"Primo" subwoofer updated with heat ring

i dont know.. Your copper is oxidizing in those pics, hehe. -
they didn't understand MY meaning of the word crappy.. I do not care for amps that have to make their power at an ohm load so low, anything quality in it goes out the window.. Give me some high voltage\low current amps and i'll be happy. We don't have what we used to have available anymore so i an excited to see i can get a LOT of power out of an amp at 2ohms that is indeed a single board and not 2 monos linked together.

Im surprised it's still running. How long of a tour is this? 20 yrs? lol

Ah, i seen the Wall last year, it was awesome.

oh im sure stefan has more knowledge than they do and more than I for networking. However, the ISP we have doesn't use crappy hardware or at least that's what the market thinks. I know the first one she had was an Aries i think that's how u spell it.. They dumped it and gave her a Netgear N600 dual Gigabit which according to reviews is a beast.. They they gave her another N600 and didnt help either..

I can't wait for Decaf's version!

Told you not to buy that POS. Same problems I have with mine. It is WAY more stable now that I have it at the top of the house, but it still is inconsistent. Seems that if there is anything that makes the signal tough the router flips out. In my case I have a chair that obviously blocks wifi. Would be my comfy chair which in particular I NEED right now. Our router is still Wireless G and it's in the attic of the house and still distributes wireless to our garage which is about 80ft away. Only the attic was the place to get signal on the property. However, i know someone who has a Wireless N router in their apartment in their bedroom that cannot even get signal in the living room which is literally connected to a hallway, straight shot about 20ft long. ISP techs have been out there numerous times and changed the router, total 2 different brands now, and no signal in the living room.. it's weird as hell.

I just need 2 They are 7kw capable for daily use, 11kw for burps only or extremely short term usage. OPT110001D

I love this thread, lol. I can't wait for March Madness when SBN is going on!
-
really? I mean, bandwidth is one thing to compare too but thermally, that's not fair and because of that, giving both subs the same power would conclude different results.

glue heats up too much, loosening the spider(not ripping it). Rip from over-excursion. Since you say 4th order, it sounds as if your alignment is not setup correctly or your crossovers are set wrong. 4th order BPs can wreak havoc on speakers when not knowing the ins and outs of the passband you just built.

i fi have to next year.. i'll swap my 4 5500s with these.. but only if they are good.. They just came out this year with no reviews yet... suspicious power capability i might be able to get around but like to see review nonetheless.. Only 2 sets of inputs.. i can make it work.. but odd.
