doesn't sound fair to me. I'd just not go because there are too many variables involved to determine a winner. Someone who is louder at one note won't be at another.

find the songs they will use and i can help

i dont like metered on the dash because it's not reality.. it's kinda like cheating yourself. We always meter at the headrest.. it's where you will hear it at... It's harder to get loud there but goes to show how much u know about getting loud there. Without a meter, u will never help yourself get louder. Also, sealed vs outlaw can change your peak note in the vehicle.

oh yea, didnt u know? AQ always lies about their amp ratings...... Noobs.. The ratings for all AQ amps are tested by the owner himself before releasing to the market.. 20kw Dynamic means at 18v. Sorry, but competitor information.. not for u -
i witnessed a guy post a 157 with 2 15" L7s in a hatch off an Audiocontrol meter. Not as strict as the termlab but still at the headrest. People gotta understand that sanctions such as DbDrag, IASCA, USACI, etc... they all meter in a "loaded area". Windshield, kick, etc... MECA runs at the headrest... what's the difference u might ask? Loaded areas tend to peak MANY MANY times higher AND on a higher note. It's easier to get loud on a higher note as you climb in frequency. It's near stupid to compare metered scores if you don't know what sanction or how it was done. Headrest metering is known as Reality SPL. If you daily drive with the setup you meter, your head isn't in the windshield or down in the kick... it's at the headrest. So the next time u see someone post a 155 at the windshield or the kick... he isn't doin no where near that at the headrest.

hehe, i am wonderin that as well.. I wish i knew of a cheap tool used to measure THD. It come in handy with doing REAL power tests rather than THD @30% and higher and saying.. OMG it does more than rated.... -

from my understanding.. Mike didn't buy one.. he bought MANY. Be serious- An amp this large will typically and only be used for competitors whether it be for burps or their massive daily driver. I run over 20kw in my car... You think power is everything.. it isn't. It's just a figure. Stop putting the amp up on a pedestal for it's power rating. The amp was specifically focused toward USACI competitors. Only actual competitors would be interested in it and don't think only 1 has sold..lol. I don't why people would think AQ amps are inferior and prone to catch on fire? Rumors like that should be stopped. I might as well say Sundown amps are proned catch on fire because in all seriousness they are... any amp is depending on the failure. We have dealt with Sundown\AQ\Crescendo\Audiopipe amps around here in competition for quite a while with the exception of Crescendo since it's new. All of these amps are durable to abuse. Any one of those companies makes great amps for daily driving\burps in the lanes. Just wait and see for yourself. M1strass will be testing one himself shortly but it still doesn't matter whether or not it does rated or higher.. rumors and bashing will always go on... I know it's not just about the power but even though it's not warrantied. it is STILL serviceable through ARC i'm sure. If you were a serious high class competitor, you would know that at some point.. u need all the power u can get. -
Yep, only the idler tones are a single compressed file, all other compilations require the whole package to download. The sweeps come in part1 and part2. Also, i have checked my tones and they register right where they should be so nothing wrong there. All my tones are recorded at 0db for 60sec. Sweeps are recorded at -3db because it's not necessary to have sweeps made that loud. you should check out the ultimate sweep i made, it's LONG....

Dbl up on power & ground wire to aq3500 amp?
shizzzon replied to harveywong's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
only in competition. I am about to start tooling the inserts for these types of amps as it seems "others" are charging a higher price which is a turn off... Running multiple runs in competition is just to prevent any possible voltage drop from the battery to the amp. In daily driving, it's so minute, it isn't noticeable let alone audible. -
i say this a lot... my signature. I made and host the largest collection of tones and sweeps

that thing wasnt even movin! Rusty told me those things should be able to handle 7kw actual power for 30sec runs... looks like u need 3 more of those amps -
if i go, yes. Everything has already been torn out of the car. However.. i'm researching some smaller-style setups so i can test how my car loads from scratch all over again... I'm gonna try to get REAL REAL loud without a wall first, that's why i'm givin myself plenty of time.

There are going to be many people from my area going including me... I'll be driving someone else's car there as i won't be competing.. the car is being rebuilt at this time. I got my hands on another tC i'll be driving Here is info- Show info I hope to see some IAK people there.. it's in your area!

if it's in a trunk, u can't efficiently port 4 12s... it just won't happen. for ported- Many trunks like the following when trying to get loud at the driver seat- sub back, port back(port on far passenger side) sub back\forward, port to the passenger side. Those are 2 typical efficient firing orders. if u fire forward, everything, it will only be efficient if the baffle is flush with the trunk opening and sealed all around. I'm assuming you're goin for loud as hell so hope that helps. You NEVER want to squeeze equipment into a tight space, but rather use the volume effectively so your design is more efficient
-
it's called overly F'in stupid. I've seen this car on youtube before i believe.. if it's the same car he claims nobody is louder than he is, lol I bet thorshammer is louder than he is with just 2 10s in the trunk. I never see him get his car metered so i look at it and roll my eyes. Cone area doesn't mean anything when u got small ass motors, choked air space, massive cancelation problems ALL on a single amp..

it's not expected to be done til august so no rush

The Official SPL-Labs SPL Meter Group Buy Thread

I want to make everybody aware than next wednesday is the deadline! After wednesday night, we will be sending the list of orders for precise estimate pricing. Remember, i said the price may change from what is quoted in the group buy due to stock inventory but we will try to maintain group buy pricing posted here firmly. He has already told me that some orders are NOT in stock... Some orders will have to be made once everybody pays.. A user has requested to have his RTA bandwidth widened. This order will be shipped out with the rest of the back-ordered products. When the group buy is over, We will be pm-ing every one of you to send money. The quicker you send money, obviously the quicker we will order everyone's meter. All international shipments are still subject to a $55 charge on top of group buy pricing! Do NOT forget that. There will be 2 separate shipments for everyone's order so we are trying to keep prices down in terms of not increasing them. Make sure you are prepared to pay once the group buy is over so everyone can get their meter ASAP. WE WILL BE PURCHASING EXTRA METERS so those who do not make the group buy will be able to receive it from the U.S. quicker but NOT at group buy pricing! It will still be cheaper than direct pricing though. -
Based on what u said, sounds like one of the coils burned up or the tinsel lead snapped from too much current. That nasty smell.. was is a strong, sweet but electrical smell? A lot stronger than your typical stinch from subs with a little aftersmell to it? That's the smell of burnt coils\leads. The fact that u say that oen sub is moving more than the other fits this speculation perfectly. If i were you, i would NOT crank it up until you verify this and fix if necessary. If it was just the tinsel lead, solder it back on.

if u made the box bout a whole cube smaller, it probably get louder. You are just clippin em probably. Either that or u are bumpin for hours at a time...
-
i'm not doubting it isnt possible, they say gas and water... but what's the benefit? Gotta show some actual proof of the longterm benefit and possible maintenance involved and what all has to be done, etc...

shh.. i run my car on DBz so maybe i can make a book on how to do that,
