You put the O-scope on the speaker wires right? I read something that said to make an RCA probe...? -John
-
wow I didn't know it could do all that, that's great. I'll read up on it -John
-
This thing is confusing, lol I don't need most of these settings though right? I just need to be able to see the waveform? -John
-
yeah I got the special edition one and it came with the case. I think it was the same price too -John
-
'course now I gotta figure out how to use the thing -John

MrRay13 built my box for my truck and I'm more than pleased with it. He built two of the exact same boxes and kept one for himself and we're both very happy with the results. here's some pics so you have an idea of the craftsmanship involved I need to get a pic of it with the rear seat installed, but I never think about it... and everything you see in that first picture was less than $1000 total you won't regret getting a custom box as opposed to a pre-made box (probox, subthump, etc...) -John

yeah same one, but I got the special edition version cause it comes with a case. Turned out to be $167 total after insurance and shipping http://cgi.ebay.com/HPS10SE-PERSONAL-SCOPE...VQQcmdZViewItem -John

I'll be updating this thread as I finish. I hope to be done by this weekend if not before then Out with the old: JL 10w3v2 in a sealed ProBox powered by a JL 250/1 In with the new: 12" ICON D2 in a ported box built by mrray13 and powered by a Sundown Audio SAE-1000D Here's some pics of my truck: I'll keep updating as I work. Right now the gorilla glue is drying on the MDF that I'll mount the amps with on the back wall -John

damn, you made that test your bitch haha -John

Use a hosting website such as photobucket.com and after you upload the image to their server, click on the IMG version of all the links and just copy paste that here. Pretty easy once you figure it out -John

Damn I really want the D3. Everytime I see one it makes my dick move -John

ok, on the wires which end should I disconnect? Like is it safe to leave the + alt. attached and disconnect it from the + battery or should it be the other way around? and on the grounds, should I disconnect from the chassis or from the electrical source? Or should I just take the time to remove them all together? I'll just keep the volume down until my o-scope arrives to be safe -John

That was fast... -John

I need some input from you fullsize chevy guys. I just did the Big 3 and now my temp gauge doesn't work. When I first start the truck it will go to 210* like normal, but after driving a bit I look down and it's at 160*. I'm not sure if this has to do with the Big 3 or not, because when I was at the beach the message 'Low coolant level' popped up in the drivers display, but went away so fast I couldn barely read it. It did this twice, but thought nothing of it since it went away so fast. Also my stereo seems much louder, so does that mean my gains are a bit off now cause of the higher sustained voltage? The truck seems louder too, but it might just be the 99* heat and the fans working extra hard. any input is appreciated, -John

That's more expensive though... I meant I don't need navigation because I assumed a HU without navigation would be cheaper, more around the $400-$600 range. I like having a 6-disk changer, but if the HU is iPod compatible, I'll buy an iPod for daily listening. -John
-
obviously the 4 kickers will be louder and move more air, but probably won't sound anything near as good as a Q. Depends what your freind wants. Get 2 Q's ported -John
-
I need you guys to help pick me out a HU. I love the Pioneer D3, but it's $700-$800 and I don't really need Navigation... I love the look of it though, so can you guys recommend me some that don't have navigation and aren't as expensive, but still look 'clean' and have good features/long life? oh, and I don't want one that flips out, I want one that sits flush. here's some examples of what I mean http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/shop/in...mp;productId=56 http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/shop/in...p;productId=116 http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/shop/in...p;productId=114 -John

New setup in the making to support the SUNDOWN TEAM!
ILuvJDM replied to criticalaudioinc's topic in Sundown Audio
Looks quality, keep us updated on the components -John -
Also, what attachments do I need if any? Wouldn't I need red & black probes for the + & - speaker terminals, or do you just use that single probe in the picture? -John
-
ok, that's what I needed to know cause there was a lot of specs that I don't understand. Glad you could decipher that for me I'd like to know if Ramos still has his or not. 4 years would be impressive -John

Are these good scopes? All I've seen are ones that are $1000+ so are these pretty accurate? I really want a scope so I can see exactly what my amplifier is doing... let me know what you guys think. -John
