I thought the SAE-1000D could accept up to 1/0ga wire? The terminals look awfully small... -John

I used to play a game called Nexus 3-4 years ago, but then it went to chit I play Halo2 online pretty much 24/7 now -John -
is 1000 the same no matter the impedence????
ILuvJDM replied to 30hurtzaudio's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
the impedence only affects the amps, a driver only sees 1000watts. If the amp is not 1 ohm stable, then that will obviously screw it up. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't running an amplifier in 1ohm make it hotter cause it's not as efficient? I know there's less distortion if you run 4 ohms as opposed to 1ohm, but in the subwoofers low frequency, you might not even here it -John -

I'm looking for a 4gauge wiring kit and since I would need fuses, ring terminals etc, I figured buying a complete kit would be my best bet right? What brand do you guys recommend? I was looking www.knukonceptz.com but their kits come with RCA's, and I already have some DB Link RCA's in the truck. I've heard good things about knukonceptz, but that's because they're good quality and cheap, but if you guys don't recommend them let me know. -John

I'm very interested but I can't order until some stuff gets sorted out... I don't want to let this deal end before I get a chance to use it. If it's about to end, let me know and I'll order some regardless -John

How long will this deal be available? -John

yeah that's the one I'm going to get I've read that page about 10 times now and I still don't know which size to get? If the maximum size for 4 ga is 125, then should I get 100amp fuse? Since the block has 2 fuses should I get both of them the same size (two 100amp fuses)? and when the wire says "1/0" I'm not sure which number to use in that chart; 1ga or 0ga? Would getting a 200amp fuse for the main power wire be optimal? -John
-
ok, well I thought I had it figured out until I looked at all the options for distribution blocks... from this page, which do I need? http://www.knukonceptz.com/productMaster.c...0Fuse%20Blocks# I'll be using 1/0 wire that will be sized down to 4ga to power a 600watt amplifier, and may possibly use another amplifier in the future so it needs to have at least 2 outputs Edit: I would need this right? http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KNF-12 which size fuses should I get with the distro block? also, which size fuse should I get for the regular fuse by the battery? -John
-
the biggest size accepted on the amp is 4ga. I'll get a distribution block then to be on the safe side. That'll leave room in case I ever upgrade the front stage and need to power another amp -John
-
nah, that's too expensive http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KLM-AK0 -John
