I only wish I could figure out how to do all that stuff....I have a degree in computer science and working on one in mathematics. That aside, love your work Meade!!!!!!! Looks great. -
hey truck, we getting together this weekend so i can tutor you in calc? I have nothin to do and heard you got a test comin up....
-
I will definitely have to hit you up when the time finally comes Denim, thanks.

did you post twice on purpose or by accident? I am assuming accident since they are exactly the same. LOL! I did the same thing on another forum once. I wish I had an answer, I am actually a little curious as to this one as well, hopefully someone will leave some good advice. Good Luck

I am planning on possibly doing 2 18" BTL's in pretty much the optimum enclosure to be put in the back of a Tahoe. Ported to the back, subs upward running about 2500-3000 watts each for daily. I am newer to all of this and hate to ask this stupid question, will that get loud as hell??? I would like to compete and wondering if this would be good for daily and competition. Wish I could do 4 18's, but I doubt I can afford that much power, LOL!!! As I said, I am very new to all of this and learning, so any info would be great... Thanks

This will be going in the bed of a truck and using a blowthrough. After much consideration, I decided to downgrade my system a little, well, halve it to the above. All 3 will be in a ported enclosure obviously. I listen to everything, but mainly rap and love some good SPL. SO, what would you do and if you want, why...... Would go with 4 15's all around, but dont wanna lose my entire bed of the truck. 4 12's can fit straight across with ports on the top.
-
i see a lot of your reasons for the 12" subs, but none really for the 2 15's which are in the lead...hmmm.
-
Nice. Great lookin truck, love the rims and tires.

Right now, I am actually planning the 4 BL's. If money permits for more electrical upgrades, I will bump it up to 4 BTL's hopefully. Like anything in life though, this decision rests on the shoulders of my girl.

If you read my other posts, you pretty much know what I want. I am doing a blowthrough in the bed of my truck. To save some room, I am debating on doing either 2 15" BTL's or 4 12" subs. I know no matter what I do I am gonna need an upgrade electrical wise. I have already decided on a 300 amp alt no matter what I do (wanting to be extra safe) and big 3. Here is where the question kicks in. If I do 4 12" BTL's, how much more ($$$$ wise) would this costs in upgrades (batteries, etc) than if I did say 4 12" Q's/BL's or 2 15" BTL's???? Also, SORRY 4 BEING A PAIN, but does anyone know if Hifonics amps are good, mainly looking at the Brutus at the moment. Not bad price, but not to familiar with how great their products are. Only real amps I am familiar with are Kicker and RF. Brutus is 2600 watts, so 2 of these would be pretty nice if I go with 2 15" BTL's, depending on how much electrical upgrades will end up costing.
-
Wow, almost a three way split decision going on here. Can easily tell some people favor the SQ of the Q's over the SPL of the other two.
-
or maybe 4 12" BL's with 2 Kicker 2500's
-
Wow, you guys are seriously correct. For the longest time I thought that you get what you pay for. With that said, I was looking at RF T215's, at almost $850 a sub, you couldn't go wrong....until I heard them in the correct enclosure. Not bad, but def not worth $850, esp when you can get a BTL for under $500 and it sounds better!!!!!!!!!
-
A quick question i am wondering. It says the BL is between the Q and BTL. How is this? Is it more of a SPL sub than the Q? How is the sound quality of the BL? I can't figure out what I wanna go with. I love SPL, so am thinking the BL. I want BTL's but don't know if I wanna drop all the money for electrical upgrades. I know I will have some with the BL, but not sure. Also, I heard the BTLs can actually sound good SQ wise considering they are SPL subs, is this true????
-
So, I have been debatin on a lot lately what to go with on 4 15's.....Q, BL, BTL. I love lots of vibrations and tons of SPL, so not real sure. My wife who rides with me a lot loves lots of vibrations to, but onlike my current truck, actually wants to hear the music with it...lol. I have no exp at all except watchin video, but you obviously cant tell from that. So, what would you guys suggest. For this install, money is not a very big issue....but like anyone, the more I save in the end the better, lol. Lookin for you guyz' ideas and input. If you haven't read my previous post, it is going in the bed of a truck with a blowthrough.

Hmmmm. By what u say your location is and that metal malicia avatar, I am assuming that is the same one on your back window of your truck, then yeah, I know you. I also remember the past incident we had...........anyway, back to what I was about to ask. Is it possible to set it up to where you can control how much power your subs are gettin by using something like a bass knob, this way she can get what she wants and I can listen to it the way I want when she isn't in the car. Or should I just go with something like the BL or Q. Or as embarrassing as it sounds, I havent even noticed the SSD, what is it really used for and would it be a better choice, even though the answer is probably no.
-
If I get BLs or Qs, a RF4000 for all 4 If I get the BTLs, then 2 RF4000s for the 4. Again, it all depends. Hopefully I can find the answer through peoples ideas or suggestions to make me and my girl happy. If I can use somethin like a bass control knob and drop the subs way down when she rides, then that is what I will do. Kinda new to this, so I am not 100% if that works the way I think it does though.
-
Through this out before any posts hit, would 4 BLs allow for both of us to be happy. Give me a good chunk of SPL and give her the SQ she wants. In the end though, I will be hooking up all the knobs and fun stuff to control it, so we could always turn down the BLs. Anything is gonna be a big jump from my 2 12" RF P3s.

I am curious as to about everything about the Q. I am newer to higher end car audio and will be doing something similar to my friend, who I think is getting 4 15" BTLs. How much SPL would 3 or 4 15" Q's produce? I want something that can cause tons of vibrations, maybe flex, but still sound amazing. not quite sure what to go with yet. Any help would be great. I would like the BTL's, but I think they would take up to much room in the bed of my truck, but I have yet to take solid measurements on how much room I actually will have. I am hoping to take up no more than about 3/4 of the bed, this including amps and extra batteries. Or suck it up and go with the BL or BTL. Doesn't really seem like in a ported enclosure it will take up to much more/less room between the 3. When it all comes down to it, I want it to be loud as hell and be able to make cars around me vibrate a little if I crank it. Love it loud and non-stop
-
sounds great, but in comparison with the BTLs room wise in the bed of the truck???
-
Room wise though, how much less room is really needed by the Q's than the BTL's. Lastly, like I said, I also want a lot of vibrations and thump, almost enough to do those hair tricks, so will the BL's be a better choice for me.
