2005 tahoe road to 150+ db

Looking good man. I bet it sounds even better. Sometimes I wish I could get away with mounting my sub amps under my seats like that, but my sanction says all sub stage equipment in cargo area . I can put my mids/highs there tho.

By all means let's see them. I'm currently running the 2 ports at 12" a piece simply for ease and cost. It was cheaper than 4 smaller at least I thought.

This thing gets louder and louder each time we meter it. I swore there were a couple times I thought the door was gonna pop right off! This low of tuning + loud equals ripped panels usually.

Hope to finish covering both sides. Instead of covering the floor I will have another removal false floor that sits right in front of the box and is removable so I can slide the box back and forth for daily/competition use. Have yet to get my Psychoports because of cost, but I will make what I have work for the time being. Honestly, the hardest part is knowing what amps I'll be running between now and finals.

    Zed Levithan III Review

Trust me, it's not lack of want. It's that cheap bastards like myself can't outright fork out the cash for it. I bought 4 of the ppi phantom series for half of what 1 levi costs. However, I still want one lmfao!

    Pioneer USB disconnecting from bass

I can say without a doubt that zip tying the two together eliminated my problem completely. The ipod itself still goes offline, but that's because it uses a hard drive. I am going to get a foam compartment made for that though.

Maybe the best thing would be to do is sell the replacement local. Shh, you're on to me! Problem is I have 2 of them and it makes the sell that much harder.

    1st meca event

Ok so first things first. Take a pic of your substance and post-it here. A street setup consists of all equipment being in the cargo area and remaining under the rear seat line. This does NOT include the headrest itself. Meca classes are based on cone area + fusing amp x 10. So let's say you were using those 2 18's with the fusing (wattage doesn't count thus year) and you wanted to class. Then we take (sub size/2)squared * pie = 254. Since you have 2 it's 508. Now you say 2 300 amp fuses. Well that automatically puts you in Street 5 with this big setups. You should class on what fusing you can hold for a split second. In your case it depends on the amp and what ohm load you're running it at and how efficiently it's doing it. Me personally I'd try and do Street 3 with that setup which is allowed up to 3k points and 3 fuses max. So that means you can use up to 3 fuses to split the load with the remaining points leftover from taking the 508. So you're left with 1491/10 means 149 possible amps of fusing. You can run as close to that as possible and try and remain competitive.

Well, I got word back today that they're replacing my amp. So in the midst of all of this melodramatic stuff going on I get to put my foot back in to my mouth for a moment about the customer service itself. It still didn't change the fact that the amp blew, but I can't deny them working things out with me.

Made the honest mistake of getting you confused with onebadmonte there for a second. Welcome to SSA!

Well, long day, but I did get the box looking a bit better. Not done yet as I got some measuring and cutting left on the sides and floor. It will be pretty when done.

It truly was a humbling experience. One of which I had to see first hand cause quite frankly there was no proof of this actually happening. Sure, companies do show favoritism to some and its understandable from what the customer does for publicity and all, but it went from great to sour extremely fast. Most everyone here was right and I am not too proud to admit it. It took Murphys law to prove it to me, but it indeed showed me the truth.

Just doing some cleaning up and decided to take a few pics. I had a door speaker come unplugged that provoked me to work all day yesterday. Still nice and shiny Yah, so screw it!

The build house claims to be Korean parts, but are chinese manufactured. Truth is they changed internals after the first pre-order production run anyways. I will update you all and say that the original amp I have is still going strong, but after trading my BC5500 for another 1 I have nothing but issues from the one I traded for. The company went even cheaper in hopes to keep costs down and it now shows. I started by strapping them and making my old amp the master and the second the slave. That lasted 2 days before the slave amp got so hot it started smelling like burnt hair in my truck. Forgot to get pics of this, but the amp actually never blew! The fets got so hot they were turning the board black and even smoked up the plexi back, but it was still running so I ended up sending it in and getting a replacement. Well, this time I thought that maybe it was because I strapped them and that caused the issue so I went ahead and gain matched them instead. Well the brand new amp decided to pop like I was making popcorn, but this time I got some pics. Oh, did I mention that CS on the first amp was great and had no issues. Now the company seems to be going through some allegations and I was asked to send pics this time and haven't heard a peep back. Ah well, time to move on and get more power now. Now let's see some blown amp pics right?

Yah, that's cause the cost of doing the mod would likely outweigh just getting another amp and selling the old one in most cases. It is very possible.

    DSP's and REAL amplifiers

I'd like bluetooth for being able to connect to the unit via my tablet and monitor the DSP. Not to play music over though some people might like it for that.

The beginning of the video you'll notice that DSS getting some recognition. Not sure why this one didn't get on the MECA site as it was for the win I thought, but feel free to get a look see.

I already have 4 of my 6 drivers anyways. Plus, I'm sure you'd have at least 2 more for little old me. Dammit Senchez letting my cat all out of the bag. Ok, so those that don't already know I got a second mechman elite and NO i will not lose my damn backseat! C pillar is my future, plain and simple. I won't say what design, but I already have 4 different designs I have made on sketchup. I won't share them due to 2 of them being my own special design and i'd hate to see someone with my build before me. It will be done when I can get to it. Not looking forward to more than 10 sheets of 1" mdf, bucket of screws, gallon of glue, aluminum stock, steel tubing, and threaded rod. Oh, factor in some more batteries too I guess. Wrong thread In case you missed it, my name was brought up in this thread. FWIW, didn't intend to steal any thunder as Swift, Senchez, and know each other and I'd hope that me posting in his thread wouldn't hurt his feelings lol.

  23. Would have suggested to check that except you said that you brought the battery up front and hooked it to the front and got the same results.

Where are you hiding all the batteries? Gotta be a tight squeeze in that cab, but at least the 250 doesn't even notice the weight Most organizations allow batteries to be mounted in a toolbox in the bed.
  25. Sub surrounds seem to be the only thing that deteriorate over time. They have to be played for the spiders to sag. For older amps, there have been known issues with leaky capacitors. Phoenix gold put out a high dollar collectors amp "outlaw" that had these issues and the caps had to be replaced. So technology has come a ways here as newer caps are solid and less likely to burst and leak. I'd still try my luck at powering any amp on or hooking up any sub.
