Ethos 12 and 15 final pricing and preorder
nadcicle replied to Quentin Jarrell's topic in Direct Sound Solutions
Hey you. Just STFU and get the subs so i can tell you how much you suck.. mmkay? -
As it stands at the moment, I have no money to support my habit I know the cone area difference is minimal & power distribution would be a benefit in running 6-15's. Just not sure the extra amount of money needed makes sense for a daily ground pounder right now. The 4-18's would be easier on me financially for now. Thinking that 6-15's may be yet another small step towards my 4yr plan LOL Who knows what I'll be doing over the next few months. Pulling the headliner & panels to deaden is the only 100% plan at the moment. I feel your pain dawg.

Need Help Diagnosing Speakers Cutting Out
nadcicle replied to dropkick13's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I'd third the loose wire and throw in maybe even wires touching behind one of the speakers. -
You haven't met anyone with a 94 to 2000 model grand am have you? lol

i think i need a new alt? what kind tho?
nadcicle replied to ncc74656's topic in Mechman High Output Alternators
My guess is Mechman -
I'm afraid to put any more power to it. I didn't realize the windshield on these cars were made from saran wrap. At this point it's not if the windshield pops it's when. I personally like the sub. It plays flat in a huge range. I still haven't had time to meter it as I got extremely tired of building it. Alot of work goes in to these things. I personally see why good box builders charge so much.

Showing a little windshield flex.

First test fit went well. Still have work to do, but I put it in and did a few tests.
-
This one probably does the most justice. BTW don't mind the top notch shop vac with the helix technology.
-
Looks absolutely nothing like the pics anymore. Sanding, round-over bit, and filling made a huge difference.
-
I said the exact same thing lmfao.

Thanks! Just a quick FYI, but this is the second enclosure i've ever made with absolutely no woodworking skills before hand. The first enclosure was of course with the 4 Obsidian 18's. Tomorrow I will toss it in the car for a quick test and if it sounds like im hoping I will take it back out and give it a once over with finer grit sandpaper and give it a few coats of paint.

Can't see it too well, but there is actually 3/4" on top of 1" here. Put her to work. It is going in her car after all right? Everybody likes rounded over ports right?
-
Thanks! To be honest having a router and a sander were the two biggest helpers other than the drill and circular saw. I really can't stress that these 4 tools were probably essential for this enclsosure. No build log, but here's a pic of what's in there. 4 Obsidian 18's on a MTX 1501D now. Thanks! pics up after these messages.

I sure hope so. I am starting to appreciate what Lee went through making Senchez box now. Even though I was there momentarily to pick it up I picked up alot of good ideas for this one.
-
Thanks! This will be my first time going for aesthetics. After putting this much work in the enclosure I'm not sure if looks is something I will strive for again though lol. Even still i'm not finished and still not sure i am going to keep up the looks Thanks. Still a ways to go! Thanks. It's the wifes car. This is my first season ever competing and I figured I'd compete with her car since I blew an AQ2200 about 2 and a half weeks ago in my truck. It's funny cause I can burp a 148 in clinique with the current setup, but struggled a 144 when I went official. I hope the SP4 helps with that

Sounds like me, I'm never truly happy with anything I'm going to build another box for the obsidians, but I'm sure once the new amp comes in I'll smoke em and move on to something else. Can't reveal the subs in question, but let's just say the box I'm building will be for the new subs. The old ones will just have the first go.
-
Still coming along. Oh Here is the victim btw along with a few more updates. I think I'm done for the night.
-
So how do you get rid of those pesky lines? Why wood filler of course! At least I think. Still going strong on the enclosure.

Pioneer head unit 75% volume
nadcicle replied to brian85578's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
You've never uses a prs then I used to think they were junk till I was introduced to DEH 80PRS Speaking of the DEH-80PRS.. Anyone know if there will be a successor? Same features with perhaps an extra line for more info on the screen with perhaps a better graphical interface. My only reasoning for choosing the kenwood x996 over it was the 80prs looked bland and was like 20 bucks cheaper -
Shit's still gonna be weak! You wait until I finish this box. I'mma light up these tensil leads and start a fire! Shh don't tell anybody what sub.

Better said than done. I called the number listed on the site, sent an inquiry, posted on their facebook, and even messaged a reseller. The only person that answered me was the reseller. I went Mechman honestly because I was answered and taken care of as a customer. Sure their alts look awesome and all, but what good are painted toenails with socks and shoes on?
