I seem to remember a thread in which you slaved this child out to work on sub enclosures. Nice cover up with the falling thing! LMFAO Seriously though, I'm really sorry to hear that this happened. This is the prime time in life where you would want your childs limbs to be most functional.

My tenney just died!!
nadcicle replied to Dangrebel's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
It's all good. He gave me a hard time when my Tenney's died on me too. Funny thing is that he at least uses some ok chinese parts, but the regulators just sucked. Singer will rebuild the hell of that thing. -

I've often seen that his cheap regulators he uses are the cause of the issue. It'll probably switch back on at like 5k rpm and turn right back off. Mechman has rebuilt so many Tenney alts it's ridiculous at this point. -

I know our shirts for our team are gildian and I believe that's what the t-shirts are going to be. Gildian stay pretty true to size if it's any help in making the purchase. I will agree I had bending over and feeling breezy crack cause my shirts are too short. -
If you feel you have been wronged and paid with paypal then it doesn't matter really. He knows that and that's why he can't do much short of giving the best customer service possible. For low voltage at idle there are usually only 2 combatants to help with that. 1) Better voltage regulator (assuming the other is bad) 2) Smaller pulley When doing the smaller pulley though you really have to make sure you are setup for maximum belt wrap as they tend to slip like crazy on most stock setups. You'd be surprised as to what all putting a smaller pulley on accomplishes in this case. The size difference is really tiny as well. You may think the one you have now is small, but the replacement might almost seem like the same size, but makes a world of difference. I would even bring it up to him as an option to see if he would be willing to try that. Hell, have him send you the pulley and get it swapped out and try it yourself so you don't have to send back the whole alt.

Trust me man, I am a true believer of the best warranty being the one you don't have to use. With that being said I would ask him for a return label and express that you feel you have sent it back more than adequate times on your own dime. He may or may not go for it, but it's worth a shot. I won't be the one to say "go to singer or dc" because in your extreme case most issues that I have seen arise are from all the companies lower to mid grade alts. All 3 of these companies top tier alts are more rare to have seen issues vs their lower end counterparts. I will say to not expect any different from anyone else though. You think Mechman is bad with the wait then read all the stories on how long DC has taken for some people. Granted DC is trying, but you aren't paying for trying now are we? You don't mind waiting and want the best go DC. Wanna wait a little less and still get quality go Singer. Don't like waiting long at all and still have some quality go mechman. I respect all of them equally for their skills being that they all carry the latest in their respective field with a slight edge to DC. It sucks that you're having issues and I definitely understand, but once you get it right you'll be glad you did. The last thing I tried with Tenney before giving up was to tell him to ship me another with a return label in the box for the old one. Of course he forgot the return label and told me to just keep both alts like he didn't care anymore, but I sent them both back and got my money back cause I didn't need a heavy ass paper weight sitting around.

Do work brother! Good luck!

You should know by now it could say "Don't use this" and everybody will still try using it. Seriously though guys it's not hard to do W x L x H = (Divide this by 1728) then you get your cuFt Torres sucks for knowing exact dimensions. Sure if you want a box that'll be off a few hz in overall tuning and probably on the smaller side then by all means keep using that shit.

The old 900 Turbo had a perfect hatch space for the SPLs. Yah, but a cramped joke those engine bays were to work on. Leaking radiator = engine swap Anything working on the engine = engine swap lol -
Whoa, pump the brakes. Is this one acting in the same identical fashion as the old one? Please explain if anything is different. I know I went through 2 of the Tenney alternators and he kept replacing them to simply have the internal regulator itself keep going out. This is one of those circumstances where your luck seems to be running thin as mine did previously. I've heard of others having issues from the Mechman alts, but he usually helps them out the best he can. I know the next thing I say might suck, but I really recommend keeping a stock alt nearby any time you run a high amp alternator as I've had 4 high amp alts all together for them to go out one after another until i went to the Mechman elite I have now.

So how much does this guy charge for enclosures? Definitely looks like a grade A professional job and I have a rebuild for 4 18's that I could use an enclosure for ;-)

I think I like where this is going.

If I didn't have bigger obligations for finals I would snag this up quick. I have a nendo 5500 collecting dust now though and my AQ2200 is daily until I get my other back from Dbr. Meca finals is coming too soon for me. Good luck with sale!

Almost but no. It has nothing to do with the crossover you apply electronically, but the mechanical crossover that occurs because of the box design. The 4th order boxes will have a 24dB/oct slope with NO electronic crossover (of course outside of an SSF it is not so logical to put a HP). This is irregardless of whether it is a normal bass reflex (ported) box or a bandpass. The bandpass has an additional mechanical filter which is a Low Pass that will roll off the higher frequencies as well. Personally I'd much rather apply this filter electronically instead of mechanically as it will allow you to change both the slope and F3 point of the filter. I really like this answer. Thumbs up sir!
