Who makes custom heavy duty springs?
nadcicle replied to shizzzon's topic in Automotive and Performance
It's funny cause I know your link goes somewhere, but when I click it it comes back to this thread lol. Maybe just me though. -
You shush your hole and work. You have no time for post. You must finish!

Oddly, I am the same. When it's Fedex you're like "hell yah", but when it's UPS youre more like "I hope my shit ain't broken" lol

Who makes custom heavy duty springs?

So mount a tank in your engine bay some where. There has to be room some where. You seem to be interested in the right way at least. -

You know you wanna do it the right way. Just go with an air valve manifold and just go all for corners with full control. Perhaps this will change your mind? -
Something to add on is that EB Flex is annealed vs OFC. While this is still better than CCA it is still not OFC, but for the price point that shouldn't matter. Hell, I'll probably redo the wifes car in this stuff when the time comes if i'm up for the wait. In my case, I have a decent place right around the corner from me that was brought to my attention by a fellow SSA member called 4-star that does 2/0 stage cabling for around 3 bucks/ft and I don't have any wait time. It sure as hell beats sitting around waiting for the ups guy to show.

I'm usually the one to remain skeptical, but I am liking what i've been hearing thus far.

Yah, if you hadn't guessed it. That was me that walked up to you guys. It was a crazy madhouse on day 1 with cars blocking the lanes everywhere. I felt like I was going to pass out and die from all of the fumes.

Hey, That second one is mine! I think I may still have some chips left too

You went full retard, man . Never go full retard.

Yah, I seen the guy hop right in and attempt to take a sell away from you on cockhoe. I'm sure it's going to eventually be like trying to sell a product that a large storefront already sells at a much higher discounted price plus free shipping. It's a dog eat dog world, or so the saying goes.

Good luck. I'm personally done with the Sp4 after mine going up in smoke. Took it to another submaker and confirmed it wasn't anything i could have prevented as it was just weak solder/glue joints and over time they just give out and come loose and arc from one to the other. This is all the users fault though because it is in their eyes either clipped, overdriven, using bass boost, SS set too low, own any of approximately 80% of the oversaturated market of Korean amplifiers, or perhaps live in a climate that has to much change. To know that I could not pound on it for less than 30 minutes every 2 weeks at car shows didn't sit right with me. Just know that you aren't alone.

will this amp setup work?
nadcicle replied to salgutierrez's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
The one you missed was using the second configuration but bridging at the amp for 1k @ 4ohm. -
Walling a vehicle 101 - any suggestions?
nadcicle replied to SpeakerBoy's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
Pretty much the feeling I had; but you know me, I had to ask, I am a daydreamer. As far as box design, I have one more question for this thread, I don't think it's enough to make a whole nother thread about, Do the obsidians sound alright sealed? If so, I think I'd build a slightly oversized sealed box for them, and if it isn't enough, i'll put some aeroports in it. Also that way I could then mess with the tuning to find what sounds good in the truck. Figured i'd answer this one. The Obsidian's are pretty overbuilt 2.5" coils that can sound very good in a sealed box. Everything you've heard about them taking gobs of power just isn't true for daily. You can burp high power to them all day long, but there is a reason Nic warranties and rates them @ 600 RMS. If you want them to get loud you will need to port them. If your intentions are to port your sealed box you made then make sure you build the sealed box big enough that when you add the port you remain with the ported spec when you add it on later. I'll also add that I want to say the intentions of the Obsidian line were to take his home line and make it more car audio friendly. My opinion is he did an OK job and made something that doesn't break the bank, but it is still an entry level sub. -
How to use tablet for head unit?

Impressive. I never find the time for myself anymore, but this is definitely motivating. Thanks for sharing that. -
How to use tablet for head unit?
nadcicle replied to ShaneSauce's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I could only dream of my Kenwood 9990 being that fast. I have been looking in to turning my hp touchpad into a headunit running through minidsp's as there is a OTG hack out for it and I don't use the thing enough to not think about hacking it apart. 10 seconds is extremely fast and something I envy especially since after a double tie in db drag I had recently where i found myself fumbling and just about lost because my headunit took forever to come back up. -
Coating Box With Resin, Is It Worth It?
nadcicle replied to handman84's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
After testing with and without 45's and resin recently i've discovered a few things. Just forget everything you've heard about either of them. Really! It doesn't make sense anymore. On lower power the 45's made a few tenths, but the moment you crank out past a few thousand watts the 45s were non existent. As for the resin, It's not that easy to sand. It's a quick way of sealing and trying to get smooth quickly. I would recommend some enamel paint and working your way through different grit sandpaper to smooth it out and just lay it on smooth. So i'd use 45's for lower power and resin for bigger enclosures that you don't wanna spend weeks on getting perfect. A smaller box would benefit from TLC of sanding and painting over resin any day in my opinion. -
Can't say I didn't try. Just remember, horns are more forgiving as they crossover a bit lower and have a much larger bandwidth. Plus, if tuned correctly they sound like hercules farting rainbow colored unicorn cum in your ears!

Electrical upgrade planning - 2004 Chevy Blazer
nadcicle replied to SpeakerBoy's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I will echo saying that the big 3 upgrade is essential, but I will add not to remove the factory wiring when adding the big 3. Simply remove and clean if necessary and put it back along with the new wire as well. -
Even better time for *evil face* horns?!!?!? lmfao

Thanks guys! I will make sure to get some pics for you soon. I am still trying to get our newest IAK member "James Long" to get on here and introduce himself as well since he took amateur street 2 as well.

I hate you. That is all.

Amplifier Suggestions (@2ohm)
nadcicle replied to Maddenkid2011's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Good luck as it says right there on the post "no offers under $300". Perhaps $250 plus trade might work out in your favor. -
As a heads up the sp4 does not like bass in this range as its a heavy coil that needs movement for cooling. Those frequencies with tuning might sound good but I don't foresee the sub lasting long on high power since the sub physically doesn't move as much air at higher frequencies. . Hell, my mid bass is 80hz with 12db slope currently for reference.

Help with wiring 2 amps and only one rca. sub and speakers
nadcicle replied to Cptsnuggle's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
As a heads up, there are a ton of headunits that only give you 1 pre-out since on average you should be running bass mono anyways. Also, when you split a subwoofer out that the voltage does not split the output voltage in half like previously stated. It should remain the same over both sides without issue. Rough analogy, but it's like running multiple runs of power wire from front to back of car. I'd sure hope I didn't drop half voltage per run of wire. If it's 12 up front it'd be 12 in the back on all runs. Same should hold true for the rca. I personally use a knukonceptz karma SS splitter currently for my kenwood9990HD (1 sub out) and it works great. With all that being said. I would still recommend an upgraded headunit since you should definitely have separate front, rear, and sub outs.
