AudioPipe Qustion.
nadcicle replied to gprestonmoto's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
There's still someone showing a Shark 2500 on Amazon for sell. I can't imagine it would be far off from Audiopipes pricing. http://www.amazon.com/Sharkmotorcycleaudio-Shkamp2500d-Professional-Design-Amplifier/dp/B00AZ08Z3Y/ref=lh_ni_t?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ANLLZ8ZWDIDA5 -
Try wiring your subwoofer to 1ohm instead and see if that helps.

I don't see any mention of bandpass and I can't find the manual on the site. Looks like junk to me anyway. It is only a rumor as nobody has been brave enough to get one. Under features it mentions "sound staging" which usually includes TA off the bat and if you're lucky other things. The closest is the Clarion NX702. Yes it has bandpass. Still not a pioneer as much as we'd all like it to be, and i've already agreed and mentioned getting this unit myself. Sorry guess I missed that. As you can see in my sig I have the pioneer and I bought my son the CZ702 so I can honestly give my real opinion of both. A mix of both would be ideal. The Pioneer independent left and right eq is better but I really prefer a parametric. using the crossover points properly eliminates or has the potential to eliminate the need for using an eq in most cases. It's usually in the passband between drivers. A gap in the crossover points and proper slope works wonders. I don't care for being limited to the pre-selected crossover points on the pioneer. I hardly use any at all but when I do it would be nice to put the center point exactly where my issue is. The range of the Clarion allows for better use of a widebander if that's your taste but the very limited slopes on the clarion crossover is weak. people have different opinions on this but it will make it more difficult to achieve proper phase. I have listened to both quite a bit and I can say there is a noticeable difference in the overall sound leaning towards the Pioneer but with the pricepoint of both they are both insanely cheap for what they do. I was just going to go in to how much the notice ability goes away when running something with more range to it, but then i read your sig and seen what you were running. I could respect the fact that one or the other keeps in mind that a horn loaded driver can dip down quite low to 1k or lower from a high standpoint. I'm a little more willing to deal with not being able to cutoff my mids so high than setting their low end to below 40hz or more. I'm glad you gave your opinion on these cause you could save somebody a hundred bux over going with the 80prs. -
If you went with the nsv1 and zv3 parts, then it will not be too much. Have a local here running 2 4500's per 18" with extremely similar setup on the sub. He currently does around a 65 with em.

Trust me, the only way i'd get one is if they sent me one to test free of charge and i like it at that point. The fact that they show a copper chassis on their main site and sonic doesn't already threw me off. I will say though that if you haven't tried their tiny p900.4 then you'd be in for a surprise. I like it enough to get a second one. It's the same amp as what Polk and Hertz both make at a fraction of the price. So while I like the amp it doesn't leave me any less hesitant about this head unit though. I'd still personally get the Clarion, and I will be doing so sometime this season if I decide to trade my kenwood 9990hd or just scoop up some minidsp's instead. -

Certainly not a bad idea, but complicated a bit as I'm using the factory system and high level inputs via an Audiocontrol LC2i mounted in the back of the vehicle. I'm going to give Crescendo some more time as we've already run the cable and built a nice mount for the bass knob, not to mention keeping the clipping LED would be nice. Understood, well that definitely makes sense why you'd want a replacement then. I've personally written off all bass knobs as there is not a single solitary bass knob that completely cuts out the bass completely. It's like they are all set to only work between all the way down and about a quarter of the way and then it's as if when you keep turning it does nothing more/less most of the time. Not that this is typical of every bass knob, but the consensus that i've reached is that the LC1 always treated me well in the event that when you turned it from all the way down to up the output was exactly like using a volume knob. -

Weird, after looking on PPI's website it seems they made a capable double din that looks to have just about everything http://precisionpower.com/store/products/source-units/p-771nx.html#!prettyPhoto . However, I looked and seen the same unit on sonic http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_38358_Precision-Power-P-771NX.html and it's missing the copper chassis so idk. -

I just hate that there hasn't been an equivalent pioneer double din like the 80prs. I could see a market for it since a lot of people don't like having to pull out laptops and such and would rather have full control at your fingertips. -

I'm going through the same with a repair with them, but not near as long as you are. Might I suggest ditching the idea of a bass knob for a PAC-LC1 instead as the difference in using it vs a bass knob is night and day in functionality. For 17 bucks it doesn't hurt the pocket either. -
I've gotten to play with some from mono price and they are not cheap feeling at all. I always find myself needing extra RCA's almost all the time so I don't see anything wrong with getting a couple sets and going with what you feel is better after you get a chance to look at them.

I know they're for home's, but I usually pick these up for about 9 bucks a set when I visit Consumer Depot. I'm going to pick up another 4 sets Saturday more than likely. http://www.consumerdepot.com/products.asp?id=NX-BP154-H&referer=srch

Apparently Coleman the owner of CT Sounds as he's trying to make everything car audio related available from him. He says he already has a manufacturer he's looking at for head units as is. Perhaps if you'd give him these ideas then he might do something with it. I don't know his extent of this subject, but maybe he'd be open to it. -

I agree with this. I'd like to see a headunit do 1hz increments or 3hz at the least. I haven't had a chance to touch the CZ series just yet, but the double din version will be going in my blue car. I do have the 80prs in my truck and feel that I got a better sound out of my kenwood x996 with less tweaking. I now have the 80prs up to where the kenwood was but it took a ton more playing with. I do like the network mode on the pioneer vs my kenwood though. The network mode is the big selling point in most active setups anyways and that's why I went with it. It has to mean something when you can go from "front, rear, sub" to "mid, high, low" in the active world. -
solid strand vs alum core

Just watch this video and it should give you a a little insight on why you use OFC vs CCA. -
The N3 is definitely the best 3" neo woofer that Fi made. They made an N1, N2 ,and N3. The differences between them were obvious in that the N3 looked like a piece sign "Y", the N2 was like a "---", and the N1 was only half of the N2 with a "--". All were neo though.

I personally say you utilize the bandpass feature of that amp and just go and get you a nice 2-way setup without the need for the crossover. Madisounds keeps me searching around quite frequently, but part-express can be light on the wallet as well. There are way too many good speakers out there for way to many different types of applications. I could tell you that Faital Pro's are the best thing since sliced bread, but that doesn't mean they would sound good to you.

nadcicle replied to Dangercdv's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
With the big 3 upgrade, i'd feel comfortable up to 2000 watts. FWIW, you might still see some light flicker and such when you start pushing it and at that point i'd check into another battery (AGM) for the trunk. -
crossover opinions
nadcicle replied to Dexter Chaos's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I'm going to sound like an echo here. I've ran the MTX RT-X02A and still have it sitting in the garage collecting dust. I definitely recommend doing some more research on why you think you need a crossover and come back with a reason why you need one. Any person that trunk mounts a good crossover or eq has definitely spent time with it inside the car getting it tuned where they want it before mounting it. Perhaps the head unit you currently have has the ability to do the work you are asking now. -
I'm not sure what you mean by your driver not beaing threaded? Most d2500ti's are supposed to have a threaded throat on them. Perhaps you got non threaded d2500ti's in which case you would simply mount them straight up without adapters at all. Take some pics so we can see what you're talking about.

Please fill me in cause I just received an email back from him this morning stating all he had was the mini pro's in stock. I asked specifically for everything he carried and specs on them so I can see about what horns I want to use in my future project.

It's ok. I was able to quote you and it showed the entire link and I was able to copy/paste it. -
If you get to frustrated you can save me the hassle and just sell the horns, drivers, and adapters to me.

Direct quote from parts express from someone doing an identical job. Great Driver For Image Dynamics BodiesMay 21, 2010SundownAudioNY - 30046 Location:Upstate, NYTechnical Knowledge:AmateurExperience With Product:I own itValue: Performance: Features: Purchased these for use in a car audio application on my Image Dynamics mini horn bodies. These are essentially the same drivers as the Image Dynamics CD Ultra at a fraction of the cost (~$350 with bodies vs $650 for the Image Dynamics Ultras). I am using a pair of the Selenium ADF25-25 (PE # 264-322) horn adapters. They had to be trimmed slightly and holes drilled out for my 2 bolt pattern (there is a template molded into them, you just need to drill them out if you are using anything other then a 3 bolt pattern). Better high end extension then my B&C DE500's at 1/2 the price. Over all great price to performance ratio.
