Myth? We had a couple guys do park and pound runs with caps no problems. Chris Hansford ran 2 Taramp 20.2k off quite a few banks on his 4 18" N3's no issue at all and took Park and Pound 5 championship. So, I see no myth at all my friend lol. If you're in it for SPL then sure, but any type of SQ i'd say don't do it. I've had a number of vehicles straight piped and cherry bombed. The sound of a straight piped cherry bombed 350 in a 96 caprice will drive you insane from the drone after a while. It also depends on the vehicle and how well it is harmonically to the ear to begin with. This is the same reason I've never piped the Suburban.

Was just about to chime back in with running it virtualized, but looks like everyone pretty much already suggested that. At this day and age I wouldn't be looking at a 32bit version of Windows 7 over 64bit for any reason that I could help. The i3 architecture is leaps and bounds supposed to be better than core 2 duo and I would still stand by my decision on running one over the other for reasons including speed, battery life, and the ability to have over 4gb of ram helps to run a virtual machine.

While any 32 bit version of whatever software should work normally on 64 bit by creating a (x86) Program Files folder and running in auto emulate mode I would really look in to trying it on a buddies computer. Hell I'd be willing to test it any see if it will run on mine as every new laptop out comes with 64 bit going forward except netbooks. Care to PM me and I will see about trying to find the program and running it and letting you know if it works?

Really like my 900.4's small enough to install in a glove box of some cars and put out respectable amounts of power and sound clean doing it.

See, these could be resolved if we enabled tapatalk like I proposed in the past. Hell, now tapatalk is even free in the play store! I much prefer not having to use my browser and just opening up tapatalk and having it remember my credentials as its layout is nice and even has some built in tools for moderation as well.

After seeing it flex around like crazy I'd say it is extremely doable. Being that there aren't a whole lot of points to brace since it is a single cab. You brace the back window, roof, and a door and you're likely to see a full db gain there. Raising the tuning will probably help a lot as well so you're already headed the way I would have went first. I'm disappointed that I didn't get to hear the new setup now though. I bet that sounds a bit louder and able to keep up with the substage better as well.

Group of guys came out today from West TN north of Jackson in Martin I think it was and actually went so far as to ask the event coordinator about hosting events in their town. So this might just be a thing sooner than you think. They were driving an explorer, mountaineer, and an eclipse so good luck. Your wire size has nothing to do with the final load of your sub. If your amp takes 0 then use it no matter what. Bassink beat me to it.. :thumbsup:

I'd be willing to give an unbiased review of one of these in comparison with 2 other 5k amps for one of the 5k series.

Not sure what year lincoln bigjon has, but he has about the closest sized trunk to you that I know of. I'm sure he might chime in.

The new version of the Ns1 has proven itself worthy enough to handle a .25 ohm load on 16v charge system and "clamp" good burp numbers, or so i've seen at least. I can't say I would see the 5k doing anywhere near close to the same. If daily is your thing it might be a different answer you are seeking though.

Giving the equipment you say you have I will give a little bit of help with gain settings in how I would set gains if the equipment were mine. 1.) Start by turning everything on the amp all the way down. 2.) Go to your headunit and find your subwoofer level setting and if it has a -15 to +15 then set it for in between at 0. If it has a 0 to +15 then set it to +15. 3.) Now, the first 2 things I would set are Subsonic and Low Pass Freq 4.) Start with Subsonic and set it to exactly half way with the line straight up and down. 5.) For Low Pass Freq set it to straight up and down as well. 6.) On your amp make sure that Input sensitivity switch is set to the 2v-8v setting. 7.) Turn your volume to the loudest it goes to listening level for all the rest of your door speakers. 8.) With the volume up you should now slowly turn the Input Level extremely slowly until you hear any audible distortion. You should not be turning it very much at all in your case since your headunit boasts 2v pre-outs. and the lowest setting is 2v on the switch from 2v-8v. I made a video a while back on what to listen for. Now in an enclosure it is a little harder to hear, but audible distortion is still able to be heard by ear. It is a little harder for trunk vehicles as you can set gains and hear audible distortion, but if you close the trunk it'll pressurize and the distortion will go away. Most of the time it helps most by setting gains inside the vehicle with the doors closed as this is way you'll be listening to it. I'm sure I might have forgotten something so anyone else please feel free to add on.
